What about SAS EG? For example, I use the import functionality in SAS EG to import CSV, Excel, and other formats. So is the test based on Base or PC SAS or will I be at a disadvantage using SAS EG? Thanks!
Hi there! The lab environment includes SAS Studio, EG, and SAS Display Manger, and all applications are fully functional, so these import capabilities work. However, the vast majority of the projects require writing SAS code, and there are standard Multiple Choice questions as well that don’t use the lab. Everyone who plans to take the exam should be skilled in all of the topic areas covered on the Exam Content Guide: 2.sas.com/60511spZJ

We cannot comment on a general question like this. To help maintain any test-taker's privacy, it is not appropriate to discuss a specific score in this TH-cam feedback area. In a public forum, we would not discuss your score or your friend's score. Regarding the test questions, some questions might have more weight in the scoring than other questions. If your friend has questions about their score on the exam, they should send mail to certification@sas.com, so the Global Certification team can answer their specific questions about their exam. The details of the Base Programmer Specialist exam are that: 1) there are 40-45 multiple choice and short-answer questions; 2) passing score is 725 (score range from 200 to 1,000 points). Candidates have 135 minutes to complete the Base Programmer Specialist exam. If you have general questions about how any of the certification exams are scored, you can either send mail to certification@sas.com or you can post general questions in the Community Forum that is specifically monitored by the Certification team, here: 2.sas.com/6054ZQgpA . We hope that helps.
