Thought dosh made a video when I saw the title in the notification. Glad factorio TH-camrs are still pumping out content even right before the DLC is gonna release. Also seems like masochism runs in the factorio player blood.
Also I think the challenge restrictions at the start of the video technically allow you to use things like grenades/cars/tanks to destroy the things you have built but the spirit of the challenge wouldn’t allow them anyway.
Exactly the type of factorio content combined with essay and humor that I love The multiplayer arguments are the best Please make more! (Also really good music crediting btw)
The video idea may have been a simple one but thr editing was what made the video glorious for me. also lul for that "this joke made more sense in february"
-Wait, wait, wait, a second.... so in the default game, you spawn in with only 1 piece of wood, which you would then have to use to fuel your first burner drill... but how do you build your first small power pole, to power up your science and get to medium poles, if you can't mine any more wood?-
Yayyy so excited to see a new video from you! This was so much fun, thanks!

I think the challenge is still doable in single player. Just provoke a spiter to spite at you while you're standing next to a big rock until the rock is destroyed.
Leaving biters on in this challenge was a huge oversight. If you wanted to dispose of a section of your factory, you could just abandon it for bugs to destroy while defending everything you want to keep. They played a solid defense to keep with the spirit of the challenge though, so still fun to watch!
Oooh, true. That does solve both the stone and coal problem. I’m… not gonna try this. But I *will* point it out to some Factorio nerds I know. =3

@@MichaelFinlay-ul7khI think doing it with rocks is still in the spirit of the challenge though. Maybe a little mod for biters to not attack factory, only the player would work if you wanted to enforce the rule.
While it's a bit sad to see you step away from Challenge Runs, this was a treat to have! GG on the run and always looking forward to whatever and whenever you make something next!
i really like your choice of music for these videos gives em an extra punch :D although i must say in some portions of the video the volume difference between music and voice is not the best... loud music, can barely understand what is being said anyways, great video :) keep it up~

Yesss, I've been wanting to see something like this for a looong time! The rules are a little different from what I envisioned, but the idea is _mostly_ what I've been looking for, so this should be entertaining.
Sorry man, honestly forgot about your channel… even though I watched every video. Thanks for the Factorio video though, great things will come in your future.
Only 5 minutes in and I have to say I absolutely love the use of Touhou music so far. This video already seems really under-viewed relative to its quality, considering I have your "terraria without building" in a queue after this one and it received exponentially more attention. I hope this video ends up blowing up. Perhaps more people will find an interest in Factorio with Space Age on the horizon (as well as a general interest in Factory games with Satisfactory's 1.0 update). Suffice to say, the video is great so far :D
I LOVE all the excellent touhou music picks in all your videos. I hear Yokai Girls Subconscious Swing and see that rainbow background and immediately think about hoiks lol.
That was an awesome challenge to watch. Exactly the type of content I want to watch. Just one issue, the music was mixed way too loud. I had to use subtitles most of the time. But, I can tell you put effort into the subtitles, so that's appreciated.

hmmm, ok i think ive figured it out. They CAN destroy rocks in the same way as machines, but they have to target they rock, not you. i ran into a patch of rocks, and some of the biters chasing started nibbling on the ones at the edge of the patch (maybe in the way of their pathfinding?) and... destroyed huge rocks dont drop the coal? what a rollercoaster
I thought this was a video from a big channel, you are making it far with this type of editing! Just a friendly piece of advice: UPLOAD DLC CONTENT ASAP. Your channel will grow A LOT.
Huh, so, start with 8 iron plates, place drill to mine coal. Then what? To make more drills you need 10 iron and a stone furnace, then you need more stone to build a furnace to smelt iron ore Are mining ores by hand prohibited? Nvm, didnt watch enough atm lol
Biter attacks be like that 😂 i play on 600% deathworld and its constantly happening twll i can kill the biters far enough back out of pollution 😂 15hrs later.
Wow, you say you have lots of experience, but it seems like you play a newbies who have no clue what they are doing. If you had just designed the oil factory to be a advanced oil factory from the beginning you wouldn't need two oil factories . Play smarter, stop playing like you have only 200 hours of playtime each, you know like how that power plant looks like it was built by a beginner, unbelievable. Now I know my play style is not great, because it takes me like 20 hours to win Factorio but I have no oh fuck, moments though I do tend to use a tiny start base that I tear down when I am done with it, but yes I know no tearing down, well cut off the ore supply I guess.

The music is so loud i straight up cannot hear you in certain places like around 10:58, a real shame because this video is really cool.

Technically you could have had a worm destroy a large rock which should drop coal when it's destroyed.
you inspired me to try this in single player. Alas, worm acid does absolutely nothing to rocks

welcome back touhou man
I mean...yeah, if your space is cluttered, just move elsewhere. also you can rotate belts and...oh.....moving equipment...
I'm going to Minos Prime myself.
Great challenge! (but I think that you should make music a little bit more quiet)
YOU?! YOU CAN PICK UP BELTS???!??!!😅
Don't you need 10 iron plates for a drill?...
Then... How did you make the second drill?.
how did you get hold of the fish to send to space?
probably via inserter fishing, and it was obviously done to bait our commentary.
0:51 I see what you did there
How did you get the fish? Also if you go to the buildings statistics tab, what does the deconstruction stats page look like?
inserters placed at the edge of a lake will pick up any fish that swim nearby
...because of course you can automate fishing, this is factorio!
@@CptFreefall Yes, but they only pick up the stack size of the inserter. Having exactly 5 fish is suspicious.
@@timanderson5717 you can pretty easily get a stack size of five with inserter capacity bonus research
