Hi, Melanie. You are doing just fine. Two pieces of advice I would like to impart to you, although maybe you already know them. First, when you travel, at least have an idea of where you will be stopping for the night and always have a backup plan in case that one doesn't work out. Last thing you want to do is try and find a place to park for the night and already need to be parked. Second thing and the most important for your safety. You may already know this, but when you are making videos, always post where you have been after you have left that area. This is so people don't know where you are. We all do that, even us men. It is just covering your tracks. Also, have people you trust (friend, family member) always know where you are and have a way to stay in communication with them. When I am traveling, my sister has a way to track me on Google Maps. Also, when I get back out on the road in my new rig, I will have a satellite phone, in case of no cell reception and can always reach emergency services. Not being an alarmist and van life is very safe, but it is always good to have a plan and take certain precautions. I am excited for you and your journey in van life. Be well 💗🙏💗
Hi there! I do appreciate the advice but rest assured i am doing as much as i can to be prepared before leaving for trips (i am an over thinker and worrier lol) the world is still an unpredictable place but i do appreciate the concern! If you are traveling i wish you safety on yours as well 🙂
That's one of my biggest fears with vanlife is not knowing where I'm going to park that night ahead of time. I always try to plan ahead, but know that things don't always go according to plan. You're handling the bumps as they come and doing a great job.
Welcome to vanlife! Everyone's journey on the road is different, for us it was basically glampin the lower 48 on and of for two years ,we still have our van but currently only use it at state lakes in Kansas. And yes you will be constantly moving stuff in your van 😆 . Our advice is always be aware of your surroundings, remember you are basically going camping and less is more while traveling 😉 Also make sure your emergency fund is twice the size of your budget and your savings. Head to places less covered on the net. And see as many waterfalls and ocean views as you can . Safe travels you can check out our vanlife but you have to go back 3 years in our videos on our channel, sadly we are stuck in Kansas at the moment taking care of family.
Hi , I saw new to Van 🚐 life , and I was instantly curious as I want to embark on little journeys & see the country .. maybe Be cozier w/ nature . I tried camping once this summer and got set up ( primitive walk to camp site )( no vehicle ).It was blazing hot outside . I couldn’t handle the heat, I also felt scared to be alone . I am getting the same vibe from watching you . I think it’s going to take practice & planning . I am at the beginning too . I hope you stick w/ it & maybe we will be learning together . You are already ahead of me because I have only done day trips kayaking and enjoying different locations . I don’t have a van yet just SUV , but the van or camper is my plan . Good Luck ✌🏼
Welcome to the nomad world! This life is full of ups and downs and learning! Some days are just.... well... boring and blah lol but I think that helps us prepare and handle the crazy hard days. That's my guess anyway! I look forward to seeing more videos of you and your pup! I'm going to be leaving Central NY next week to head to SE Michigan until December. I'm getting excited about the trip.
