Even as a pretty cynical person, I really like this game! Switching from a wolf, to wombat, to hummingbird and exploring the landscapes is really damn fun. Also really great for younger kids who don’t like games with “bad guys”. I will say one negative tho, about an hour into it I flew to a small island, turned back into the wolf to initiate the campfire, and then realized the duck had left the island and I was totally stuck. Reloaded checkpoint, same problem. Had to load a previous chapter. Hope this doesn’t keep happening.
Gives me a Last Guardian vibe. It is just a relaxing game with a nice story. Cute character to play as well. I really liked the companions voice, too, but was confused why a Hawaiian-inspired tribesman had a british voice

Just like 90%) Larryn, I don't know if you're reading this, but the 'just describing the game' thing seems to be really common with game reviewers. I feel like it's clear you do understand the game: I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on how the pieces you describe fit together, and how that affects your view of the game!

I feel the content is a step in the right direction, but with only 3 minutes, I would still prefer more discussion on the gameplay (e.g. with so many different animals, were controls smooth or clunky?) than objective descriptions from the game's store page (the name of the story's tribe).
This is like the spiritual successor to my all-time favorite video game, Space Station Silicon Valley! Will definitely be picking this one up when it's released for Switch.
For artistic games like this, the price is less important to me than the emotional impact. This review seemed to forget to mention that aspect of this game. Nope because, Zelda is def an is a story-driven action game whit puzzle, dudgeon, bosses, upgrades and exploration. (execpt Zelda botw which is an open world) This is just a empty game that might as well be a movie. Its filed whit cutscene and only tries to impress whit visuals and music. You traverse through empty lands on your way to the peak of a mountain. It’s a soul searching experience where you can take the game at your own pace to marvel at the impressive graphics that really press the processing power of the PS3 hardware. The story is loosely told through key markers and is open for interpretation, ambiguity and vagueness are always interesting in video games as they infer depth and that’s what makes Journey an interesting experience. However the amount of substance in this game is limited to a single time experience, as the story is really meant to be had once, for players interested in replay-ability this may not be the game for you, but for consumers interested in a breathe taking Journey, Journey is for you.
I like some relaxing games after a stressful day, but this game was just too boring... Only one short, repeating soundtrack in the background, exploring is boring, there is not much to see, collectibles don't do anything and the other animals are only useful for a short time. Some cutscenes are annoying and don't add anything to the story or gameplay and the voice acting could have been so much better...
Just finished it, if you love animals and want a relaxed game playing as a wolf and about ten different animals while doing puzzles in each zone, this is the game for you
Go back to your FARTnight and Overwatch kid. If it aint FARTnight, overwatch, halo, gears, or COD, its garbage in your view. Keep in mind this is a team of only 5 devs and its their very first game. For what they achieved its monumental and never seen before in the industry from any other indie studio. Santa Monica or Crytek should hire them. Learn to appreciate what quality is

The game has his own merit, that is undeniable, but for that price? ive seen other developers do more (and i mean a fun experience, it doesn't even necessarily has to be killing something) with far less resources. A game at the end of the day is about how fun is it, not how pretty or how many post-processing effects you add to it
The narrator is terrible and jarring- the character it's supposed to be and the voice itself DO NOT align whatsoever :/ And they serve more as to point out the obvious than anything.

I think with the format being under 3 mins, I feel that you have to stick to the facts.
if I was a reviewer I'd be so critical. I'd first start off what pissed me off. then the positives. then if it was worth it- all under a minute

Journey was cheaper than this on release, and it was GOTY for IGN. (Not that their opinion matters, but it was amazing)

It's actually quite good, the ending almost made me tear up. It's a nice story. Though the controls are a bit clunky, but it's still ok.

You can't just talk about what the game is about when writing a review. That's not a review at all
