Hi Mike, My dad came to the states after the war, your belt comment brought back a few memoires. Different times. I love him and respect all he taught me, but yes, we treat our kids much different. Hugs and I love You's. I think that generation that immigrated were hard on us because they were afraid for us not being prepared. In their own way, they thought that was the way to do it. It wasn't until I was older that I realized most of my skills, I had picked up from him and now with my own son, I realize what he was trying to do, that generation just had trouble communicating it well. Hope his health is improving.

I love the old timers, & I love how clean you keep your truck clean, I remember as a kid cleaning my Pops truck at the yard, & him using Mop N Glow on the tires & rubber floors, & Never-Dull wadding polish on the aluminum, it was like cotton in a can.Or I would sneak the silver polish for the silverware from my grandma's house..lol He used Alax or Comet on the white dump truck to get it super clean, but it was dull, But it was single stage paint.
Good. Be careful. The first time I had Covid it was bad, but I kept going. The second time in the beginning of the year it crushed me because I had walking pneumonia and Sepsis too. Just listen to your body. Apparently, I don't know how to do that! He's a salty old guy! Love it! Reminds me of the old guys on the party boats going out for Bluefish and Cod. Back in the 80's my father worked for D.F. Frangioso out of Mattapan. They were building a big extension for Mass General. I'll never forget they bought a new Koehring 6644 excavator. Standard bucket would fill your trailer with 3 buckets. It was massive. The counter weight had to be shipped by itself. Some specs. The Koehring 6644 Crawler Excavator, manufactured from 1985 to 1991, weighs 43.264 tons and has a transport length of 12 meters, a transport width of 3 meters, and a transport height of 3 meters. Trucking in NYC (and surrounding areas) is the ONLY way. Don't (ever) make the mistake of moving from there to Florida, as I did, one year ago. 34 years of trucking in New York Metro, and I never met so many assholes (in trucking) down here as I have in one lousy year.

Not sure about that, it's probably how they were taught. If you're talking about me, my truck idles slightly to high so no matter how much I play with the clutch and baby it, it still goes in a tiny bit rough

Although RI is my favorite accent, but you guys are right there, back then people weren’t afraid to speak with their NEngland accents like they are nowadays for some reason, I loved listening to Steve Lavelli at night , the callers mostly spoke with their NE accents. I wish I could hear more! I think it’s terrible that people are ashamed of their culture and how they speak. It’s truly a beautiful accent!!!

@@TheBostonTrucker Absolutely 👍, I use run BJ’s quite often out of Uxbridge, MA and Shop/Rite out of Fall River when I was with NFI. I even starting to talk like you guys I was up there so much! Although RI is my favorite accent, but you guys are right there, back then people weren’t afraid to speak with their NEngland accents like they are nowadays for some reason, I loved listening to Steve Lavelli at night , the callers mostly spoke with their NE accents. I wish I could hear more! I think it’s terrible that people are ashamed of their culture and how they speak. It’s truly a beautiful accent!!!

How is your father? Last year around this time he was really bad. And you put him in round the clock care. But, then a few weeks later we were talking and you said he was stable. Still having trouble walking around. Just asking.
