Can you please explain? I’ve just watched the first season of Merlí Sapere Aude, but that’s all I found on Netflix. But I just discovered that there are other seasons and a whole other show. Is that correct?

You need to watch all the both series to understand better, but just to resume (with some spoilers):
• Bruno (gay) and Pol (still questioning) had kind of a relationship and they love each other, even Pol don't admit that.
• Bruno moved out, Pol got devastated and fell in love with Bruno's best friend, Bruno came back and they had only a colorful friendship for a while.
• The end of the 1st series, 7 years later the events, shows that they marry each other and finally are open about who they are.
• Between both series, nowadays, Pol and Bruno's friend broke up, then Bruno tried to get closer of him to they back together.
• Bruno started to harassing him (which is not cool, but is more complicated than it seems) while Pol fall in love with other guy, who is hetero.
• Meantime, Bruno and Pol still had sex, 'Cause Pol have desire and Bruno is in love with him. But Pol still doesn't admit his past love for Bruno.
• At the end of the season one of the new show, they fight each other and Pol said he never was in love with Bruno, and Bruno go away for good.
But you really should watch the both shows, there's a lot of important things that I didn't say.

Just one other question: I’ve already watched season one of the new show, where Pol tells Bruno about never loving him, but is the first show that was first aired in 2016 related to the new show or not? Like, are they mutually correlated, or the new show is just some kind of spinoff?
@@Patrick-qf5mz The first show is "Merlí" with 3 seasons, the second one, "Merlí: Sapere Aude", is a sequel spinoff about Pol, who was one of the characters of the previous show.
By the way, there's a lot of references at the sequel which you can only understand watching the previous show.

It's a long, hard road, but they do get there in the end. Sadly though, we only see it in the story MSA is based on and the end of Merli. We will likely never see it onscreen

Only that it's tough to find the series online. Here in the US we only have access to the first season online. It's a common thread that I see on other videos and posts. It's a nice show, it's just a shame that it's tough to watch. Also, for the people who are coming from MSA, it should provide more context to the relationships.

There are two shows. The first is called Merli, which ran for three seasons. The sequel series is called Merli Sapere Aude, and it ran for 2 seasons.
Merli takes place during the high school years. MSA is the university years.

"Merlí", then "Merlí: Sampere Aude". I highly recommend you to watch it chronologically, you won't regret it. It's the best show ever.

That's how the writer specifically chose to portray him. Almost like he wants people to dislike Bruno.
Though honestly, they're both jerks to each other.
It also makes it easier to rationalize his removal from the second season of MSA. If the writer had chosen to include detail and context to explain why Bruno's doing what he's doing (father's death, Nicola baggage, losing best friend, etc), the view might be different. But again, that's not what the writer wants to portray.
