    I really like that the person to gave them the headphones had a sunflower lanyard for a hidden disability, love that small detail.

    I got diagnosed with autism a little more than a year ago now. My entire life when I would get upset my mom would get really mad. She’d hit me, or yell, one time she forcefully closed my mouth to the point where it started to bleed. Now I cry as quiet as I can, so I don’t make people upset or mad. I’m only seventeen and she still does this kind of stuff. I’m even starting to see it happen with my younger brothers…

      I would suggest talking about those things with a trusted adult who knows and understands mental health, like a Counselor or therapist 5:09 5:09 . Your mom sounds forceful. Which can be emotionally abusive. It's not fair to treat anyone like that. She might have autism too. But she herself would have to turn to therapy to stop those bad behaviors. Therapy is helpful with coping and even getting out of those bad situations. If you have some good friends or extended family maybe they can help. You can also move away from her when you can afford to. Just know that you matter in this world, that your voice matters. There's always someone who cares. You accomplish great things. You can do this❤ 🫂

    As someone diagnosed on the Spectrum when I was 9, it's on thing for people like me to learn to pretend to be "normal" to "fit in", but it's another for other people to learn to understand people like us. Now wonder I was drawn to the X-Men as a kid.

      The more I've learned about Marvel's mutants, the more I've seen it as an allegory for autism. It's great. And it's great because they face issues without being represented as weak. Autistic people are not weak or incapable-they're just dealing with different issues.

    Being an autistic kid, I really wish that all parents could realise how it is for us. They don’t know how such a little thing can make us so upset, the only thing they usually know how to do is yell and tell you off for something you can’t control.

    Wow! Watching this was beautiful! The message was definately there on how autism looks on both sides of the fence, from those who suffer from it and those who see it. I really relate to how Adrian felt in this, suffering with the amount of noise around them and from the mother’s frustration dealing with this but also asking the big question “what is their life like in their shoes?” And finding a solution to calm a situation down. This is a powerful message indeed and you should be proud of what you’ve made! It definately brought a tear to my eye! Massive well done indeed, my friend!

    The one thing we all seek:
    To be understood. To help others help us.
    An experience is something to not just pass on, but to act as a reminder of what it is. To find a way of guiding that experience with time.

      And I did most of this on an ipad in Procreate. You don't need a massive tablet to be a good animator but I understand we're your coming from, it can be overwhelming but don't compare yourself to others 😊😊 we should catch up sometime

    • @SkylarGem
      @SkylarGem 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@drivemebatyDon’t worry. It’s not going to be too massive but it’s those tablets with the screens on them. Easy to buy on Amazon. Will come in handy for my animation and digital art. There’s this unfinished short story about one of my ‘half-OC’. One of the scenes involves my actual OC walking into a cave. Not easy with my drawing tablet atm. Also, I don’t mind catching up. A lot has happened since ever I left. Good and bad.
