Well done Jon, great result, justice for persevering when things didn't seem to be working. Just shows how a couple of bonus fish can make the difference. Good luck in final
Amazing how much thought you are always putting into your angling Watching your films is inspiring me to do better. Well done on qualifying well deserved, your channel is the best on here 👍🏻
Brilliant Angling, I live 20min from Bradshaws and we have some cracking Curry houses if your stopping over, would love to treat you to a ruby murray for the cracking videos you produce😊
@@JonArthur The work they have done/doing on there is a credit to them, making it one of the premier fishing venues in the country. The offer is genuine.
I've read all the 50 odd comments before me, and no one has mentioned your non de plume "end peg Arthurs" so I thought I would !! well fished especially with that high bank behind. Bet you slept well that night ! cheers.
Well done on the section win. Brilliant angling. 3/4s through I was questioning why they put a carp peg into a silvers match but goes to show its never over. Hopefully you'll get some footage of the final.
Great result Jon. I've watched loads of your videos and only just realised that unlike most right-handed people you actually hold the hook in your left hand when you're baiting up.
Great result, Jon. Please could you explain why you had two different coloured elastics looped together when you pulled them out of the pulla-bung? Thanks.
Thanks, that's interesting. Perhaps the subject for a short video on how to tie the knots so that the braid doesn't cut the elastic and the knots pass cleanly through the tube?
Well done Jon you had to work hard for those fish. That was another great video Jon and commentary good luck on the next match on Bradshaw, s tight line's 🎣🎣🎣🎣👍
Great demonstration of fishing multiple lines. Well deserved section win and to qualify Jon. That steep banking behind you was a bugger and the camera shots made your pole look like a banana. Didn’t notice you snacking neither. 🤭 Hope you’re feeling better.
Cheers. Yep no time and appetite for snacks! I was less well on the day than people would ever realise but OK now I hope. The pole will only look like a banana because of the fish eye effect of a Wide and Extra Wide angle lens. It's actually impressively stiff I reckon.
Yep that was frustrating one. I’m even sadder now as they cancelled the final round cos of thin ice and moved it a whole month back so it clashes with another silverfish final I’m in so I can’t complete the league 😢 was hoping to film the entire five-match series. 😢😢😢
Well done Jon lad on qualifying. Just goes to show how wrong we can get, estimating our weights. You did well to get all those Carp without any breakages. Top video again
Great section win Jon. A lesson to all of us to give it everything, even if we think we out of the winning pegs. Sorry to hear you were a bit unwell the previous couple of days (beware the ailing angler) 🤣
well done jon you made the best of a peg that was not easy to fish and worked it out and got a result your fishing head was on ..and you made it work ,,pegs in winter as you know jon ether start slow and then your on them using tweaks ..or you start well and they back off ,,but catching those carp. arrrh,,come summer its the opposite pesky skimmers ,but it shows your patients payed off well done ,tight lines and full nets,,
1st Comment. Fantastically fished. Great commentary and amazing way fished. Rotating and working it out. I did think you would be close as I could see down the lake on the Video and didnt see to much action. I also totally agree with you that the rules should include all Carp caught should count as 4oz. This would have given you an additional 5.04Lbs. Really informative video as per usual. Shame you you got to travel to Boston for the Final.🤣. Thanks again.
Cheers Peter. It’s such an awkward thing as the silverfish purists don’t want carp to count at all yet seem to peg venues or lakes you’ll always catch them. I think 4oz is fair without spoiling it. But there’s also a case for separate carp and silvers prizes which isn’t done much in the midlands.
Great footage and explanation as always Jon. One quick question, in your opinion, when fishing more than one line at the same distance, what would your minimum distance be between the two swims. Thanks
Thanks I’ve generally felt 4-5m gap is enough separation to keep them distinct, but there is a case for having a couple of swims quite close together and it’s something I’m continuing to experiment with.
great vid again jon great result and a trip to us up north in casta land too lol top man top angler ps whats the name of the new music you play on vids its so relaxing
Cheers, looking forward to the final just wish it wasn’t 3 hours away! All the music is listed in the description depending on the device you’re watching it on. Eternal garden by Dan henig I think 👍
Hi Jon been watching a video from a year ago about your pole rigs. You touched the subject of inline floats. I have tried to buy these but nothing seem right to what you were showing. I fish a venue with a lot of snags and have gone from getting no fish out to about 80%. My last problem is eye on the float which gets caught and rips off. I have tried cutting the eye off and putting a band on the float this does help but if the line get caught it cuts through the bands and I have to retackle. Could you do a video on these floats please
I will see what I can do. But the trick if you want a bristle not an inline dibber is to chop the end off a hollow tip and melt a hole in the side with a hot needle. You can then thread the line out the tip of the hollow bristle. If you have a side eye it will always snag up. The float has to be able to slide in and out the snags and can only do that with a totally streamlined inline setup. But you still have hooks and shot that can snag up of course, but it does reduce the chances considerably.
Hello Jon Well done and good luck in the final Just a thought , wouldn't it be better to put the carp into a separate keepnet so you Keep them out of your swim and saves maybe catching them twice . You said theres a lot of stockies in there so might not make a difference and I don't know if the rules allow it , but it seems logical to me . Thanks Jason
@@JonArthur Well best of luck, it’s fishing really well for silvers at moment. You deserve to win a big match John after all the effort & hard luck you’ve had recently. As they say - keep knocking on that door & eventually someone will open it!!🤞🏻🤞🏻🎣
Yeah Bradshaw Hall. I remember fishing there for quality skimmers nroach 1lb + on Lake 4. It was just at the start of carp bashing mania wow must be 30 yrs since I fished it 😂 ex bolton anglers until I moved to the best river ever. Thames free section Abingdon. 🤣
Cracking fish that Jon well done. I started watching last night at 11pm but I couldn't keep my eyes open (not your fault, I was shattered) finished this morning and wow. Just goes to show don't it why you should always try and fish your best match. Them 2 brown ones were the difference. Mental catching all them carp, we need more silverfish only venues. Bit like the river matches I've jad a go at this winter. 3 matches and over 60 trout caught 😭😭😭 All the best for the final 🎣🎣🎣
Well done Jon, great result, justice for persevering when things didn't seem to be working.

Good luck in final

Nice up n down aerobics exercise! Was overdue an end peg but you tend to just want the deep and wider middle pegs on a silvers match
Well done on the section win. Brilliant angling. 3/4s through I was questioning why they put a carp peg into a silvers match but goes to show its never over. Hopefully you'll get some footage of the final.
Cheers I think we all had carp trouble with the new stockies which have definitely affected things. It’ll be a Great lake this summer though.
Well done Jon in Qualification. Packington is my local fishery just ten minutes away. Lucky me .🐟🦈🐟
Nice I wish it was nearer! 👍
Well done Jon, really good watch

Class shows through once again Jon 👏
Better to be lucky than good sometimes!
When is the final, Jon. Worth a visit to watch a master at work!!!
Next week!
Great result, Jon. Please could you explain why you had two different coloured elastics looped together when you pulled them out of the pulla-bung? Thanks.
It was 1.5 sections of elastic and thick braid as one section sonetimes not enough and two sections too much
Thanks, that's interesting. Perhaps the subject for a short video on how to tie the knots so that the braid doesn't cut the elastic and the knots pass cleanly through the tube?

Superb achievement Jon well done after a tough looking peg draw. 14lb of silvers where you were is fantastic. Good luck in the final
Appreciate that Rich :-)
Well done Jon. Superb class as always. Good luck for the final

Tricky peg Jon , really well done .Those carp were nearly as annoying as pike on the rivers !!!
Nearly but not as scary ha ha
Woop woop brilliant fishing as always Jon... Great section and qualifying win... Good luck 🤞 in the final bud... 🏆 Bring it home 🎉 🥂

Enjoyed that Jon! Mad how them carp come out on light lakky when they don't count - they'd all charge off and smash you if they counted as 8oz 😆

Jon, could you not have a keepnet for the carp to keep them out of the mix so to speak?
Sadly that’s not allowed on most matches I fish
Great win on a not fanced peg thight lines

Well done on the section especially off a unfancied peg mate,
Thanks Neil

Sadly that’s not allowed on most matches. Very rare to catch the same fish twice, even someone lucky like me 🤣

great as all ways . big well done on NOT smashing off on the carp , should get something for them , even if its a 1lb . good fish well fair john
I’d be happy if they were counted as 4oz. Enough to make them worthwhile and not too much to spoil it
Well done John 😁
Cheers mark
Why do you have braid to elastic Jon?
I only want 1.5 sections of lighter elastic sometimes. Tip only not enough and full top two is too much.
That's interesting.thanks Jon

Jon you should carry a tin of silver paint to paint them Carp. HaHa.
Silver sharpee might work? 🤣🤣
Or maybe a new Bond villain - Silverfinger 😂
In this day and age cant you just say the carp self identify as skimmers? 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🤣🤣🤣🤣 that won’t be long I’m sure
What about the hybrids , I bet their confused 🤔😂
I’d be more concerned about their choice of pronouns.
Only “Fisherthem” can get away with that😆
Well done Jon, the Alzheimer’s has gone you didn’t leave anything, a great result from a non rated peg. Good to watch.😂
