The recipes look lovely, we don't have any of them in the UK. The buttermilk pie looks a bit like our egg custard tart. Could you tell me how much a cube of butter is as I don't know that unit of measurement.
I prefer the 20 min videos rather than the shorts but anything you folks do is fab
    Merry Yule

I raised rabbits and the best thing to do when using the cement mixing boxes, its to put the drain holes only on 1 end of the box and slant the box so that the urine will drain to the back where the holes are. Be sure the holes are in the back not facing the front where you would be walking to prevent having a wet mess. You will need to check to be sure the poo isn't blocking the holes. And thank you for sharing your baking and family recipes, such a special and loving touch. I love that you are sharing your family and holiday traditions with us, it makes me feel like part of your family! ❤ P.S. Noah is growing into such a handsome young man~

My wife's co-worker should own a bakery because she does such a fabulous job. I wear shorts a lot but don't really enjoy watching them. I have watched and LEARNED so much from your videos overs the years….I was surprised by the SHORTS video but enjoyed the addition immensely! As long as you ‘add’ in the SHORTS from your regular videos I’m sure you will find more ppl will watch AND move over to your channel to learn more and increase your subscriber base. I’m in my 70’s now and sleep habits change greatly, there are times where tossing and turning at night I realize I’m not able to get back to sleep and I pick up the iPad….not always wanting to concentrate on longer videos (as I’m hoping I will drift off into sleep again) but I go through many SHORTS videos, and I enjoy when I watch the longer version of someone’s video and I see where they cut the SHORTS from, or they add ‘bloopers’ So, I’m a fan of your regular videos, love the cooking additions and loved seeing that handsome young Noah in this video! God Bless and may you and your family enjoy a prosperous New Year!

A Jolly Ball!! We have a Busy Ball for our pig, and it got lost in the yard for awhile so I was looking to buy another, but they don't make them any more. It is very much like the Jolly Ball but without a handle. I am so glad to know this. We also have a Bob-A-Lot that he likes too. That is a dog toy but pigs like it too. I like the longer videos too, shorts show up in my feed and I can't avoid them, I think that is why they are getting more views. Well a lot of us guessed a goat for Daisy, myself too. So looks like that is not the answer. We have ducks to be companions for our pig... I really have no clue, it will be a wonderful surprise. (hopefully not a pig, they are a lot of work!) Great video, thanks so much!

The jolly ball is what I have several of. I’ve tied a short rope on some. All of my animals love em. I even have a couple tied to tree limbs. The horses love em. My dog has one she plays with all the time, she’ll grab it by the rope n sling it around just spinning n a circle n running with it. She loves it. Another inexpensive toy Daisy might like is just a plain blowup exercise ball. Things that will move if they butt n kick it. Love the family video. Merry Christmas 🎄

I have been following your channel(s) since before the move a couple years ago but have not commented. It has been fun to watch you learn animals like you continue to learn plants. We had a Great Pyr/Lab Cross guardian dog for years. Bella is White. Our Gary was brown but the mannerisms are exactly the same. Fetch was a no go for Gary and shelters were out of the question. He wanted to be on the tallest space, well, to guard. I chuckled when folks asked about you keeping the halter on Daisy. Wise move on your part as a first time livestock owner. Being able to catch and control her with the halter will allow for easier behavior management and vet/health care in the future. I love your channels and have watched daily to catch up and I am about there. Thank you so much and I love the recent Christmas video. Looking forward to the coming month plantings! I am in North Idaho, so, it is going to be awhile.

The needed post for the cow salt lick is easy. Just find a spare fence post pile. Cut to length ~10-12+ inches pounded into the ground (measure the length from bottom of post, pound into ground to that line. Measure what the inside depth of the salt lick, and cut off extra. Then Daisy, if properly installed, can't push over the salt lick. But, from what you mention is that BOTH ends have their indents - then outsmart both the salt lick sellers and Daisy. Drill out a massive (closet dowel rod diameter) hole in "2" wooden fence posts. Install this in an accessible - but non-pushable area inside the shelter. Pound in the posts (as said above). Raise up the salt lick and pound in 2 closet dowels from either side of the "2" posts. Then let Daisy try and push it over, or roll it around the shelter. What happens (and far better than just a sitting salt lick) is that it rotates, like toilet paper on its dowels. Daisy gets to lick and push the salt lick with her nose, wile the toilet roller salt lick turns over and over. Good fun for Daisy as a salt lick, but also a basic attention toy ! One also needs to put in the top cross bar to the "2" posts so that they remain all stable and firm - against any of Daisy's pushing.

We in Melbourne Australia are experiencing weird weather. We had lightning, thunder, wind and 60 ml of rain in 2 days. Rest of the country had more rain flooding actually. Haven’t heard of any of your cookie recipes but we make a delicious slice called a Mars Bar slice, I’ll swap the recipe if you like. Really nice to see Noah. Your fur babies are gorgeous. Great hearing about all the different American recipes.

How many times have I mentioned SanFran KSFO nursery-orchardist Bob Tannem RIP (Bob in the Garden) in the Sunday AM talk radio show talking about his gopher/mole problem child solver. Mix oatmeal, peanut butter, (one could also add in a couple droplets of honey) - and plaster of paris. Roll these into small round balls the size of your pointer finger fingernail. Put these down all of the many holes. The critter eats these. The oatmeal and plaster of paris sucks up the stomach fluids in the body creating the plaster block in the stomach - dehydrating the animal. The critter goes into an ~eternal~ sleep for a full stomach and lack of further foods, water, and energy. No other critter eats the safely dispatched critter - except worms - leaving the plaster stomach cast in the ground (calcium is good for the soil).

Bella just needs to get trained-up on what a ball launcher is all about. Bring Bella up here to our SanFran dog park, and many owners have launchers and their dogs chase the flying balls up to 200-300 feet distance - and bring it back - and enjoy doing so many times (especially if they get a treat for doing so ... ahem!)

Love your videos as is. Maybe shorts for things like "behind the scenes", that was fun! As for the longer videos, you demonstrate and explain things, beginning to end. It is vital to be longer for the awesome things you share!

Yup - as expected. Bella didn't like the rain noise (and windiness) on the metal sheeting. So only 2 (3) areas in which she hid out. Under the rafters of the protected patio deck roofing, within the cottage in the protected rabbit hutchery area, or down with Daisy in her semi wind-and-rain protected shelter. Which leads to the 2 previous statements of having 2 Bella dog bed locations in the cottage and down at Daisy's shelter - Bella can make her seasonal choices. Inside the warm cottage for Fall and Winter, while cooling down in the shade at Daisy's shelter in the Spring and Summer.

Never heard of buttermilk pie but I love buttermilk so that is one recipe I will have to try. Looks like you and the family had a lovely Christmas and Bella and Daisy got some nice gifts. Happy New Year 🎉

I'm way behind on some of the videos. However, the buttermilk pie reminds me a lot of chess pie which is also Southern. I'm originally from the south and absolutely love my chess pie especially the lemon version. I will be trying the refrigerator cookies! Sound yummy. We always make cutout sugar cookies, peanut blossoms (have to try it with almond butter), magic cookies, and butter pecan turtle cookies which are amazing! Then also a couple kinds of fudge. :) Thanks for sharing your traditions, Brian, Emily, and Noah!

Don't know why TH-cam is telling you that 70 percent of your audience wants shorts from you. I would certainly beg to differ on that. I think it's just TH-cam trying to get more short form content from creators rather than ppl actually wanting it. 🤔 Certainly interesting they would say that though
