    I have a one story house in Texas with 12’ ceilings and central air. The summer time here gets up in the 100s like today. In my main living room (with tv & electronics) I installed a A/C window unit and right in front of it is a Vornado fan. It blasts the window AC unit air across the living room and keeps it cool. I don’t turn on my central air and have saved $.

      Edit: not Alexa version. Alexa version has worse specs than regular 660 also.

      the 660 is awesome. I bought it after watching a video on youtube. I forget which. Our top floor overheats in high temps. The only way I cool down is to make the house freezing which freezes out my husband. Now I just turn this on me for a few minutes and I cool down pretty fast where I can lower the speed and then I don't need it. It was worth the money. I have a much much smaller one that I don't think was worth it though.

    • @DadReviews
      @DadReviews 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@11--------- it will just blow the air in the room because there is no cooling feature to it. Just as a regular fam would work, but since the air is moving, it won't make it feel as stale and make it feel hot. Think of a nice wind on a warm day. Also, in a house, the cool air is on the bottom and the heat it near the ceiling, so moving the cool air on the bottom around might help.

    • @sexypoetry
      @sexypoetry 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really? I don't know anything about motors but I was like dead sure that it would "burn out", just stop working, if it is on 24/7...but nevertheless, I have it on almost 24/7 cause I moved into studio with windows on one side of the house only... I am used to have good air flow, always open windows on both sides of the house... this studio is horribly stuffy for me as soon as I turn off the Vornado

    • @DadReviews

      It will probably last longer if you turn it off when you're not there.

    • @sexypoetry
      @sexypoetry 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, of course, i turn it on when i am out.... but london is so exhausting, noisy, traffic jammed....that after every day and night out - i stay in for about 5 days, to rest ....and then i have vornado on constantly ....cause london is not only exhausting but also vile and slimy....so called "landlords" (as required by the "state", or whoever hides behind this word) are deliberately depriving tenants of oxygen and installing windows that can barely open...london is, basically, a concentration camp...full of lakes but they call them "reservoirs" and they put all kinds of obstacles around them so that people can't get in and swim...london is monstrosity, the vilest place on earth and in history.

    • @sexypoetry
      @sexypoetry 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thanks for the reply...i almost forgot that ceiling fans exist, i didn't see one for ages...sounds cool indeed but i am moving the house rather often so it's better for me to stick with something that requires no installation at all...i pack the vornado with the rest of my things and off we go...my biggest concern at the moment is the sore throat, this seems to be the inevitable consequence of the constant breeze

    Kind of a weak review. Things I'd have liked to see covered:
    - Power efficiency
    - Measurement of sound in dB at medium'high
    - Maybe some comparison with a normal cheap fan in terms of air flow. Saying "it's powerful" and "look at my hair and shirt move" is kind of laughable, to be honest; any fan can achieve this effect. How does this justify buying a fan that costs 5-10x as much as a cheap one?

    • @driftracing08
      @driftracing08 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly cheap fans are just garbage like if you get a lasko boxfan and that they are much bigger then a vornado but I have a vornado 633 and it's much smaller and it moves more air with less power and the sound is much lower pitch like a bassy waterfall sound and the lasko boxfan pulls over 100 watts and the vornado is around 60

    • @larion2336
      @larion2336 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@driftracing08 I wound up just getting a boxfan from Bunnings. It's 100w and is pretty loud, but it can just about blow my pants off from a meter away, for $50 instead of $200+ for this Vornado crap that no one can seem to justify the price of. Equal amounts of people seem to swear they're either great or total crap.

    • @driftracing08

      @@larion2336 And that vornados dc motor fans are way better then there ac motor fans and dc motor fans in general are way better that I have a pelonis 16 inch stand dc fan and on the max speed it moves way more air then the cheap box fans at 25 watts but it's like around 99 dollars

    • @larion2336
      @larion2336 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@driftracing08 I have heard their DC models are much better than the AC ones, ofc they also charge a premium for that, on top of the huge premium they are already charging. To me it's almost besides the point now where Vornado fans are good at pushing air or not because they just cost too much to justify when you can get a powerful fan for 2-3x less. Maybe it'll be a little louder or a little less efficient, but we're talking minor differences while the difference in price is massive.
      That said I'm in Australia and it may be that you can get them much cheaper in the US, it's just the prices here are stupid.
