I'm 35 years this year. I went to school to become a pilot but my license has since lapsed during covid so I can't fly. I'm sitting for IGCSE in my home country later in October. Next year I'm enrolling into a BSC course (our version of pre-med). What an inspiration you are!
Hi really interesting to read your comment I’m 32 and wanting to become a pilot and need to get an English and science GCSE. How come your licence has gone? Also do you have any tips for me to get funding to learn to become a pilot as I have a family and a mortgage and will find it tough to take 2 years off of work to do the course. If I even get a place. Thanks
thank you for making this video rebecca, i really appreciate it! i’m 18 and i failed the vast majority of my GCSEs in year 11. im planning on self studying 5 GCSEs this September so i can hopefully pass at 19 and secure an apprenticeship!
I went to college to study for my GSCE’s but it is t enough I’m afraid ,I still have to do so much work at home . I feel the standard is improved considerably when you self study too.
I did not fail. In Romania where income from I studied up to A levels. 20 years earlier ,a long time . I took my Uk GCSE in maths and English with grades 8 and 9 and now I am taking an access course to Psychology with the hope that I will pursue a degree in Psychology. The access course is with OpenUni and it was free for me .
Hi Becs, Thank you so much for posting these helpful tips, I'm from London, 38, and being hindered from applying for jobs etc because of the lack of GCSE despite having a degree. Congratulations 🎉 on your journey through medicine to becoming a Dr.
Hi Rebecca, i am from Wales and i am planning on studying maths and Englihs. I be studying mechanical engineering in September just want to improve my grade.
thank you i got 5s in science and maths gcse and i got turned down by multiple colleges to do a level so im going to take a year out to do the higher tier
Thank you for useful information! Could you please explain why you got 5 GCSE exams? Because I thought to get Chemistry, Biology and Math GCSE exams only and then apply for A level exams as well
My question is that where you take admission for Gcsc like properly went to school or studied at home and then after that what have to do to start the medical profession
Hello Rebecca I need help I need to resit my gcse English language privately this November 2024 but unfortunately it is £325 and I don’t have the funds what can I possibly do?
I've been trying to get into a medicine as a mature student and appreciate all the help you've been giving as someone that doesn't have any formal education it sometimes feels like its an impossible task. Whoever I ask they tell me to just resit any old gcse exams but no one every says how to go about it. Do you recommend anyone in particular to book the exams with?

I have to say,you inspired me to take action! Don’t know if I wouldn’t have done this without following your journey .
Did you fail your GCSE’s and if not how much did you have to pay to retake in college

Retaking the GCSE was free of charge ,I went to an adults college and sat exams like everyone else, free.
