Staring at the white-painted ceiling of your bedroom, a troubled sigh escaped your lips. You were currently laying on your bed, your back against the soft silky mattress as you hugged your favorite plushie, deep in thought.
He was probably right outside your door, keeping on his duties as usual, protecting you from any kind of potential danger.
You shut your eyes tightly, shaking your head, you tried to get him off your mind.
Everything started when your career as a singer began to get serious. When your songs started to go viral, you also started to face some unusual creepy situations. Obsessive fans, persuasive reporters trying to pry into your private life, and even psychotic stalkers.
That's why one day out of nowhere your dad introduced you to a stranger, claiming that from now on he would be your bodyguard.
Mister Xiao. A painfully handsome man around your age, incredibly mysterious, and avoided making interactions at all costs other than his job required him to.
At first, you didn't like the idea of someone following you around 24/7. It made you uneasy but you knew, your dad was right to make this decision.

Turning your head, you met his amber eyes.
"Where are you going?" He asked, in his usual cool tone. His sudden interrogation made you flustered, which caused you to miss the small detail that how Xiao’s eyes took in your figure.
Smiling nervously, you replied.
"To a nightclub with Childe..?"
You knew he was going to object by the way a small frown took over his face.

As promised, he took you to the club. On the way, you talked about various things, Xiao generally nodded and listened to your rant. As usual.

"(Y/n), you made it!" Childe ran towards you, opening his arms he tried to take you in his embrace. But the hug never happened. A pair of arms wrapped around your waist, turning you away from the ginger.
Your eyes widened at Xiao's sudden gesture. His warm breath fanned across your neck. He was way too close. His body was pressing against yours as he hugged you from behind, preventing Childe from touching you.
Unfortunately, his touch didn't last long when he realized what he had done. Letting you go immediately he cleared his throat, a subtle redness on his cheeks.
"Apologies (Y/n), I took him as a stranger." He excused.
Heat rushed to your face. "It's okay." You assured, avoiding his gaze.
Childe just rolled his eyes and pulled you to the dance floor.
The night passed with you two dancing and taking shots. Whilst you were dancing as if there was no tomorrow. Your bodyguard, Xiao, was standing in a corner, watching you.
Some part of him knew the reason why his eyes always found their way to you wasn't because of him merely being your guardian. His eyes took you in as you used your body moves sexily. You looked genuinely happy, in the middle of the dance floor, not caring about anything. Your eyes shone brighter than the spotlights with happiness.
If you were a ray of sunshine, he was an infectious darkness. He knew you two belonged to two different worlds. That's why he continued to watch out for you from afar. From where he belonged.
At some point, you left Childe on the dance floor and made your way to the bar. Whilst you were sitting on the bar's stool, trying to pick a drink for your taste, a man approached you.
"Hey, gorgeous."
You glanced at the source of the voice. He was an attractive man with chocolate brown eyes and black hair. Hoping that he was not an obsessed fan, you smiled at him.
"Hello."
Giving you a flirtatious smirk, he continued.
"I'm Jackson. I was wondering if you would honor me by giving me your number."
Narrowing your eyes playfully you stared at him, thinking. "Hmmm"
Right before you could answer a familiar teal-haired bodyguard of yours interfered.

You were startled by his sudden appearance. On the other hand, Jackson didn't seem so happy.
"And who exactly are you to decide?" He fought back.
You stood up from the stool and held Xiao's forearm, causing him to snap his head towards you.
"Xiao, it's okay he's not bothering me."
"I don't care, he will leave you alone."
His words angered you, who did he think he was? Glaring at him you turned back to Jackson.
"How about you take me out tomorrow?" You offered, giving him a cute smile. Jackson blushed before answering.
"That would be amazing."
And with that, you gave him your number. Throughout the whole conversation, you could feel Xiao's glare directed at you. However, you ignored him.
To be honest, you weren't attracted to Jackson, your only hope was maybe if you started going on dates your little crush on Xiao would eventually go away.
After giving Jackson your number he left. The rest of the night went rather fastly with you going back to the dance floor and Xiao frowning all the time.
After a while, you two went back home.
Before you could enter your room and close the door, Xiao stopped you.
"Miss (Y/n)."
Tiredly rubbing your eyes, you turned to face him.
"Xiao I told you million times, please just call me (Y/n)."
"Right, (Y/n). Will you really go on a date with that guy?"
"Yes." With a short reply, you entered your room, ending the night.

You were currently on a date with Jackson in a luxurious restaurant. Sadly, you couldn't say you were having a good time. Since your bodyguard decided it wouldn't be 'safe' for you to go alone, he was now sitting at a table behind yours, intimidatingly staring at you two.
And, coincidentally whenever Jackson tried to make a move on you, Xiao would cough, make a sound, or ask you something.
It was your last drip when Jackson tried to kiss you at the end of the date but Xiao 'reflexively' grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him because he 'thought' Jackson was trying to head-butt you.
You glared at Xiao after Jackson awkwardly left.
Ignoring your gaze, he took you home.
As you entered your room, you couldn't keep it together any longer.
"What is wrong with you?!" You blurted out.
His eyes slightly widened, taken aback by your sudden question.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't you, now?" You asked, sarcastically, anger starting to bubble up inside you. You didn't even realize how you started to walk closer to Xiao, and how he started to walk backward.
Eventually, with no space left, he fell on the bed and you got on top of him. It was obvious you were acting in the heat of the moment since you usually were shy about these kinds of things.
Xiao just looked up to you whilst you straddled him, trying to form a sentence.
"(Y/n)." He could only say.
Your face took a sad expression.
"Why are you doing this Xiao?"
Your question seemed to make him snap. He rolled over and got on top of you.
Taking your hands into his he pinned them above your head on the mattress. Glaring at you he spoke.
"Think (Y/n). Why do you think I try to prevent any male from approaching you? Huh why?"
With his sudden dominance, you lost your words, feeling embarrassed. You suddenly felt self-conscious, about how his body pressed against yours, how close his face was, how his knee parted your thighs, and how there was a heat in his eyes.

Seeing you all flustered, made Xiao calm down. Coming back to his senses, his cheeks reddened as well.

However, before he could get off you, your hands freed from his grip and made their way to his neck. Grabbing him, you pulled him down, smashing your lips against his.
His eyes widened, millions of butterflies floating in his stomach with the contact of your lips. Closing his eyes, he kissed you back.
Placing his elbows above your head he caged you in as the kiss got deeper. Asking for your permission, he slid his tongue inside your mouth. Your tongues moved in sync for a while, devouring, and savoring each other’s tastes.
From the first time your eyes landed on each other, you both have been waiting for this moment to happen.

You are a rather well-known artist, known for your music, your exigent voice that made everyone swoon.
Tonight, you were on your way to a party that a few of your friends invited you to. Nothing out of the ordinary, but your body guard insisted that he had chosen come. So here you were, walking tour way down the pavement to the bar that party was being hosted at. So far, peacful till people started to recognize you.

"what's the agenda today Xiao?" you asked. Xiao answered in a cold tone. "We have to pick up your dress for the ball tonight and you have to pick out shoes for the ball. Not to mention you will be flying solo so we will need guards at every door keeping eyes on you at all times." "Well Xiao you will be there right?" you asked. "Yes Y/N I will be there. Now let's go pick up your dress and pick out some shoes and whatever you need" he said trying to sound like he knew what girls needed. You laughed before getting up to get ready.

"Oh xiao goodness gracious" He looked at you and turned a shade of red you could not describe. he then looked the other way. "It's my hair isn't it. I should have just left it down" You took your hair out then proceeded to walk over to xiao. "Don't you look so handsomeeeeee" you said jokingly doing his tie for him. "Where is your eyeliner xiao?" you asked. He pointed over to his desk keeping his head down to hide how red he is. You would lift his head up and he would look the other way. Y/N: “Yes, and it’s my pleasure. I’m just doing this as a friendly favor nothing more. Plus, you guys are a small company, so I would do anything in my will to help enhance your guy's business”. You said in a joyous tone. The conversation went on from small teasing and laughter, as Xiao got antsy and impatient.
Xiao: **Whisper into your ear* “Ms. L/N, I believe it’s time to be dismissed…” Xiao said in that memorable tone of his, wherever he want to leave: He for sure becomes alerted. But, you ignored it since sometimes this action can be overdone and eventually a nuisance.
Y/n: **Whispering back* “Xiao, it’s okay, just go wait in the car. I will be having a further conversation with Mr. Kamisat-”
Xiao: “DO YOU EVER THINK ABOUT ME WHEN I’M NOT AROUND YOU! QUIT BEING SO CONCEITED FOR ONCE!” Xiao said in a sudden outburst making you totally confused.
From how quizzical you felt, you politely apologized to Ayato and walked into the backseat as Xiao got in the front passenger seat. After that, throughout the entire car ride, it was rather silent as the weather slowly dropped by to say a greeting. The rain gradually dropped then a full shower came down.

“Come In!” You said shouting notifying that person, of course, who was it? Xiao is the man of the hour.
Xiao: “Ms. L/N, I just want to inform you that your dinner is read-” **Cut off*
Y/n: “Don’t go anywhere, I want to ask about your outburst today afternoon. Also, close the door” You said looking at Xiao who avoids your gaze.

The atmosphere of course became tense, but doable. Xiao stayed silent for a bit then, he closed the door, and slowly came up to you as you got up from your desk and also approach him. You just stood there waiting for him, knowing what going to happen next. As he comes to you face-to-face. Xiao usually comes up and observes you to make sure, you're not injured or anything. Or to make a better analysis as he hears what you are going to say.
(I have no clue why he does that, he just does that because of his instinct and Obsession with protecting you)
But of nowhere he came to attack your lips instead. The kiss left you stunned and questioning endlessly. It was rather rough as if he is about to devour you and his tongue sled in your mouth as you opened it to breathe some oxygen or still in aghast. As much as you wanted to push him away, his grip is by far the tightest grip you have ever been in. The kiss kept on going until things got more serious. He finally broke off the kiss, leaving you both out of breath, however: even when you were about to say something, Xiao then pushed you against your desk roughly as his eye illuminated the light on your desk. The only word he muttered was,
“I want to hear you cry out my name. Like you did when you were calling out for Ayato today afternoon”

At first, you found the idea irksome. You were more than capable of handling yourself in a fight. Yet despite your protests, you found a man at your door the next day, who was introduced to you by the name Xiao.
He was a man of a few words, and his expression seemed to always remain stoic. The first time you saw how he handled his spear in battle, even you couldn’t deny how skilled he was. The glow in his eyes mirrored that of an amber. You couldn’t help but almost admire them.
From then on, Xiao acted as your bodyguard, and it was nearly impossible to tear him away from you.

Over time, you found that the line between your strictly professional relationship with Xiao had become blurred. Perhaps it were his hands lingering on your figure for a bit longer than what could be considered mere protection, or how his gaze turned possessive whenever others would even dare to look at you too long.
Maybe it was the way your heart fluttered whenever he took your hand in his to lead you away from danger.
At some point, it appeared as though neither of you could handle another day without having the other as close as physically possible. To this day, the sensation of his hands roaming your figure as you tugged at turquoise locks was carved into your skin, and the heat of his lips on yours never failed to weaken your knees.

Not one person besides the two of you know what you share with him. It was a bit of a thrill, sneaking into secluded areas to lose yourselves in a moment of ardent passion, and returning just to act as though nothing had happened.

One evening, while taking a stroll in Guili Plains, you had stopped to take a short break. You were engaging in idle conversation with Xiao, and a small smile graced his lips. A rare sight. As you two talked a little more, his expression suddenly dropped, and he pressed a finger to your lips. You furrowed your eyebrows.
“Xiao?” you whispered. He quietly shushed you. Shortly after, he stood up, readying his spear.
“Show yourselves,” he spoke. “I can sense your presence.”
At his words, two Fatui Agents appeared
out of thin air.
“What keen observation,” one of them mused. “Here I thought we may be able to catch you off guard.”
Xiao’s grip on his weapon tightened. “What is your goal?”
The other agent chuckled. “You’ll have to do more than that to find out.”
“Forget it, I have no need to know your motives,” Xiao scoffed.
“So be it then,” the agents drew their weapons. “If getting rid of you is what we must do to fulfill our mission, then that we shall do.”
Xiao briefly turned to you.
“Look away, love. This won’t take long.”
And he was right. In mere seconds, the two agents were scrambling to flee, crying out apologies.
A pair of hands cupped your face. “Are you alright? You aren’t hurt, are you?” a worried expression sat on his face. The same one he wore every time he set his weapon down after dealing with your perpetrators. You let out a small laugh, placing your hands atop his.
“You ask that every time, dear,” you smiled. “But yes, I’m alright, thanks to you of course. What about you?”
“I’m alright if you are.” The same answer he gave you whenever you asked.
He sat down next to you again.
“What were you talking about earlier?” he asked, turning to you.
You hummed in thought. “I don’t remember,” you looked at him. His beauty never failed to take your breath away.
“Ah, I see.”
A small silence surrounded the two of you. You took your hand in his, interlacing your fingers. He wouldn’t admit it, but his heart skipped a beat at the gesture. He loved the warmth of your hand blossoming in his. Knowing you were right there by his side soothed both his heart and mind.
“Xiao?” his eyes met yours.
“Yes?”
“I love you.”
His eyes widened slightly. If only you knew how his heart swelled whenever you uttered those words.
A smile grew on his lips.
“I love you too.”
In that moment, the world had stopped spinning. The moon itself admired you two, showering you both in an ethereal light. The night carried many secrets belonging to the two of you, and only the ever rising dawn could bring them to light.

I felt my heart ache as they stared at me like that, with a look of confusion. Even if it wasn't bad, I quickly responded, " I'm a body guard, [name]." I saw as they looked away with a dejected face, and I immediately felt like taking them away, and telling them I was sorry.. in a different way.

POV: Everyone's eyes are on you...But yours are on his.
You sat in a chair, trying to stay away from the gawkers that had been trailing you all night. You'd lost track of your bodyguard, but you knew he'd never lost sight of you. "Damn it," you said, leaning your head against your hands.
You remember him telling you to stay by his side, but you'd got swept away by so many guys trying to buy you drinks that you'd eventually just stood at the bar, refusing any offer. You heard footsteps start toward you once again. You rapped your ringers on the counter, drawing the bar tender's attention to you. "What can I get for you?" "A double shot of whiskey." The man smirked and turned, grabbing a glass and pouring you the drink. You tilted your head back, downing the acrid drink that you found oh so appealing. You slammed it down and said, "Keep 'em comin'."
As you went to grab the shot glass again, someone sat beside you, rambling on about something you didn't give a damn to listen to. Suddenly, a voice said, "Hey, why don't you find some other girl to bother?" You lifted you head to see one of your friends. You smiled softly, returning your forehead to your arm. The bar gradually started to empty, leaving you with enough gaps in the crowd to find him.
As you'd thought, his golden eyes were still on you. You smiled, returning your attentions to your friend, finding that they were leaving. As they left, once again, people started to crowd you. You stood from the bar, pushing your way to the crowd to find Xiao standing at the edge of it. Your heart dropped as you felt his hand wrap around your waist, pulling you closer to him and firmly planting a kiss on your lips, all while glaring at those who crowded you. "Are you ready, love?"
You're eyes were wide with surprise, and your smile one of excitement. You felt giddy at the last word in his sentence. "Damn right."
