Is there no way to output a 7.1.4 bed directly to the renderer with correct object positioning for the .4 channels? Without that it doesn't seem very useful to have the capability of making 7.1.4 and 7.1.6 tracks.
Not in Pro Tools, but it's Dolby's decision really to fix their beds at 7.1.2. Maybe they'll add larger beds in the future, who knows...For 7.1.6 you could use a 7.1.6 bus and 6 positioned objects instead of 4.
@@MusikUndDesign I actually just found out there are built in track presets that convert a wide bed to a 7.1 bed output and objects for the renderer. Create a new track and then go to track presets>Avid and pick 7.1.6, 7.1.4 or whatever. It’ll make a routing folder with a bus input of the full bed width and convert it. I’m well aware of the renderer not recognizing anything wider than 7.1.2
