What an amazing tribute. I deeply miss south west trains. They are my favourite operators. May south western railway provide an as good enough service as they did.
Brought me back so many memories!! I loved SWT! I use to travel down to Portsmouth at least twice a week with them. But since the day they lost the franchise i stopped traveling on those trains. I thought the new franchise wasn't going to be very good and it turns out there not!! So even though I haven't been on SWR I don't think there very good!! I would be delighted if SWT made a return. But i think we all know thats not going to happen!! #BringBackSWT & do it now!!
Very nice tribute! Never got to use their trains, as i lived in southeastern Britain yet i was always happy to see their bright looking trains...that's life, progress and change are the motors driving everything forward, as long as it is for good.
When I was on the London eye. I always looked at Waterloo station and thought “what are those strange blue and orange trains?” Because I was from potters bar and either got on first capital connect trains which where a nice shade of blue and red or white and light blue trains which were cool as well. When I was young, those trains were strange but wonderful
The Class 450 would be the Waterline train to Newry from Greenslade. The Class 444 would be the Connect train to Stepford Victoria from Llyn by the Sea.
Very good video. I'm gonna miss South West Trains. That colourful spread of blue, red and white filling Clapham Junction. In fairness, a very similar colour scheme can be found on East Midlands Trains stock. The EM class 158's and SWT class 159's are virtually identical except for a few minor differences. Great video, looking forward to more of your U.K footage :) Cheers, Matt
Southwest Trains was the only franchise to keep the same parent company, Stagecoach, the longest before it was lost to First MTR. Everyone still has no idea at why they lost it in the first place, but there are a few theories as to try it was lost. One being that the owner of Stagecoach has upset the government a few times on his actions in the past, such as Scottish Independence, and winning a court ruling against them after the financial crash of 2008. Sadly no one will ever know really.
They might be able to edit some announcements together to make it since I'm sure he would have recorded "Railway" for an announcement at some point, and 'South West Railway' isn't too far off
I recommend Willesden Junction as a good station to film at. 2 levels, both London Overground and the Bakerloo Line call there, and trains can be seen passing at speed on the WCML too. It'd make for a very interesting video!
He has a point. A 456/455 combo normally serves the stopper between waterloo and woking (and is normally to make a 10 car variations to help with overcrowding) However that was the Semi-Fast service to Waterloo, which is normally served by 450s and they are EMUs meaning that they have to be formed of 4 coaches as each coach does a certain part in the operation of the train. And I believe that they are not compatible with the 456 units.
What someone keeps telling me on a facebook page im a member of, he keep telling me that First group what MTR gone and First group are wanting Stagecoach to take MTR place.
They're not my local TOC but I used to use them a lot and I never thought I'd live to see the day they died (I'm acting all melodramatic lol I'm a minor)
I say bring br and left alone with polical party butting in. We only nation in world that don't have a nationalised rall way. We just get mugged off with other nations nationlised rallways running it. That troies all over
Bye bye South West trains and good riddance. Treated their staff like rubbish, discipline a member of staff for breathing, fares spiral up and up while Brian Souter sat in his bath full of money, no good riddance. Hopefully EMT will go the same way.
English trains look like buses on tracks and the 1st class iss like 3rd in Germany France Spain Portugal Belgum and others and they are late all the time

If you were a SWT customer don't be too quick to be pleased they have gone, things could get alot worse.
I am a SWR customer and I don't think that's possible!
NOOOOOHOOOOHOOOOOO!! Farewell Southwest Trains ;-;

@@He_who_likes_everything Yeah... but anyways, that comment is over one year old.
Sad to see this great train line go RIP south west trains

Cause it is owned by the same parent company as SWT was, Stagecoach.
8:37 A mixture of two different trains???
Kinson Studio a more common occurrence with SWR/then SWT than you’d think with those 2 types
SOUTH WEST STILL EXISTS YAYYYY!,,,
I don't even live near southwest trains and I am sad to see them go

That train that didn't stop at Woking toted really loud the horn
9:41 Wow. Delayed by 58 minutes
I'm wondering if Phil Sayer’s announcements are now gone too as he probably didn't record "South Western Railway" before his death
They might be able to edit some announcements together to make it since I'm sure he would have recorded "Railway" for an announcement at some point, and 'South West Railway' isn't too far off
You’re right, I just heard an announcement from Clapham Junction this morning with Phil saying ‘South Western Railway’.
I wonder how Phil Sayer says "South Western Railway"... Anyway I heard SWR stations are getting a fresh set of announcements from September
Alasdair Clift Sounds like the "South" is from the 'South-West-Trains' clip, mashed with "Western Railway" from "Great-Western-Railway".
They are owned by the first group, so they just user GWR's "Western Railway" merged with SWT's "South"
I recommend Willesden Junction as a good station to film at. 2 levels, both London Overground and the Bakerloo Line call there, and trains can be seen passing at speed on the WCML too. It'd make for a very interesting video!
+Matthew B I do have some footage of that station sitting around. I just have to find the time to edit it
Good bye South West trains...

walked from this station to blackdown deepcut barracks all the time
I've just been on the website. Horrible layout. Although, that was a beautiful video and a perfect send-off to SWT.
Everyone calm down brave in and out and did you know that south western railway is not leaving the railway
Was south west trains owned by the East Midlands trains owner because they look alike with there livery’s
Stagecoach, yeah
"This train is formed of 6 coaches?" (15:30) No it wouldn't be, it could only be 6 coaches if it was a pair of 159s.
I use that train daily, I live in Walton-on-Thames, and I can confirm that it is six coaches.
What about a 455 and a 456?
He has a point.
A 456/455 combo normally serves the stopper between waterloo and woking (and is normally to make a 10 car variations to help with overcrowding)

Why is SWT no more?
You finally get a reply after two years. The answer is: Franchising messes in the UK, and they gave the franchise to FirstGroup and MTR.
Fingers crossed that South Western Railway will deliver some much needed improvements.
New trains have already been ordered...
Rip :(🙁
Rip:)😀

Cool Transport what
TrainBoy 5677 delayed by 26 min
Why are south west trains leaving
They did not choose to. The department of transport picks who to run it every few years.
Josh Mar that's a dumb way to do it
Brandon Frederick I thought they got outbidded to run it again

I wonder if everyone in Woking is Super-Woke?
Woking ! That's where aliens landed back in nineteenth century. Xoxo
Will I shed a tear for South West trains? Certainly not. They were a dreadful rail company and their founders pocketed millions for themselves
Seriously,? people are emotional about the demise of this deeply mediocre outfit? heavens, get over yourselves.
AndreiTupolev shutup you don't know how it feels
Wha? How does it feel then? And even more to the point, why?
AndreiTupolev because my favourite train line is changed with a shit one SOUTH WEST TRAINS FOREVER! BY THE WAY IT IS NOT MEDIOCRE SWT IS BRILLIANT
When something has been there for 20 years, people can't help but feel nostalgic.
The Big Four (LMS, SR, GWR and LNER) have been around for circa 20 years as well (1923 to 1948) and people are still emotional about them
