    This video was right on the money when it came to diagnosing the problem. I just changed the capacitor/starter in my Kenmore. The stock part was special order and cost 65 bucks. The Supco 3 IN 1 was 20 and I have a working frig.

      I just subscribed, and I will share with as many people as I can. I watched other TH-cam videos by other people, but they lacked the information that you provided. Some of the other videos were wrong, or left out important devices. Other videos could cause harm to the frig, but yours was perfect.

      Check for a clogged air way or water drip. Clean the freezer and frig inside and vacuum the dust.

      It's very important to keep your appliances at the proper temperatures. Keep the refrigerator temperature at or below 40° F (4° C). The freezer temperature should be 0° F (-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. If the temperatures aren't kept at the proper settings the more chance Listeria, a bacterium that causes foodborne illness, can grow, especially if the refrigerator temperature is above the safe temperature. Thermometers are the best way of knowing these temperatures and are generally inexpensive.

      @@Appliancevideo I have a Frigidaire side-by-side. The freezer won't get very cold but the fridge side is fine. I watched your video and panel was off the back. I reinstalled it but made no difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. PS your videos are top notch!

    • @mrthiefy
      @mrthiefy ปีที่แล้ว

      @@spulamander in any fridge all the cold air is made in the freezer section. there is an evaporator fan motor that blows some of that cold air into the fridge compartment. if your freezer is not getting cold then it is not cooling which means you probably have a blockage.
      empty out your freezer and take off the panel that covers the evaporator.
      if you see an ice ball on it then you have a severe Block in your evaporator coils. also check out where the air goes from the freezer section to the fridge section and see if there's a blockage. it could be a spilled broken bag of peas that has done it.

    we have the same samsung fridge but what we did was simply switch off the power for 30 sec or more for the mother board to reset it self and then switch back on and the fridge was cooling again. and also while you waiting for the computer to reset clean the back where the compessor and the coils are that would help as well, try that before calling some one and spending money on a new fridge. thank u

      i found the problem.. i replace the extension wire. it seems that it cannot handle the power required for the fridge its an old extension cable, so i got new one. If we didn't have a brownout i couldn't notice it. because when the electricity came back on, i notice that the fridge lights is not turning on, so i tried to use a different newer extension and now it got all its juice needed. When a refrigerator is not cooling, leaking. If the gasket is loose, this is for you. Fix it in less than 5 minutes and less than $2. Check it out, I did it and it worked:

    Hello, I have a Frigidaire PLHS69EESS2 and both my fridge and freezer are both staying warm around 50+ degress. I checked the back panel in the freezer and saw a large amount of ice buildup on the copper line that the thermostat rests on but the fan was running. Sometimes the temps would fluctuate, so only the freezer would rise in temp and then fall back down to regular over a few hours or vice versa. I just replaced the thermostat in the freezer today and now they both seem to be running hot. Any suggestions?

    Great Video! Okay, I have a cooling problem. No cooling at all and the fans are working. The bottom fan in the back and the fan in the freezer next to the coils. The compressor is running and warm. The overload and replay capacitor connected to the compressor are good. There is no ice build-up on coils. The timer, thermostat, and heater are all working efficiently. What could be keeping my fridge from working? Freon? Something else?

    My freezer door was left open for 12hrs! Got rid of 85% of items in both compartments, unplugged and cleaned up. To be safe I used blow dryer on freezer vents so air can flow from freezer to fridge. Cleaned up and plugged back in, seems to be getting cold nicely. Did I do any permanent damage to the compressor or anything else?

    I want to ask something. I am repairing refrigerators for some time now, but I didn't solve this problem I encounter sometimes. After I recoil the evaporator of the refrigerator, I test the unit and it works fine, the pressure on both sides are normal. after 5-15 minutes the pressure in the low side begins to drop to negative and also in the high side lower to about 120 psi. I turn it off and the pressures take some time to normalize. Sometime, I just change the filter drier to solve the problem, but sometimes the problem continues even I change the filter drier. what causes the pressure to drop?

    I have a 3 year old electrolux EI28BS65KS french door with bottom freezer and i'm having issues with the fridge temp. the freezer is at zero degrees and the fridge is 58. i've done numerous things. took all freezer stuff out. took the plastic shield off covering the vents and the vents were all iced up. and the back panel covering the coils had built up ice. so i did full defrost. plugged it back in and it was fine for 4-5 days. keeping temp. then my water lines froze. so i had the door open taking out drawers and getting to the coiled up water line and put a hair dryer on it for a couple minutes. got the ice line thawed out and working again. once i put everything back together, the fridge temp problem came back. now i'm zero again in the freezer and 58 in the fridge. i've ran through the diagnostic tests and i'm not getting any errors. i feel like its a defrosting issue but not sure. so i'm open to any and all thoughts. ready to dig in and pull everything out that i can in the freezer including all panels and get a better look at the coils. i assume they are freezing up again. thanks.

    I have a WHIRLPOOL fridge with top freezer. The freezer is real cold but, not freezing food and water in ice tray not freezing.
    The fridge part is barely cold. The compressor is running and kicks on and off as supposed to be. The compressor is not hot to touch and fans are working. The refrigerator is 12 years old.The freezer and fridge was almost empty so, I filled the freezer and fridge with food. Almost full. Not blocking any vents.
    Could leaving the fridge and freezer almost empty for about a week affect this?

    I have followed all the steps with my plhs67eesb4 as it is behaving EXACTLY the same way, fan running, display has power, compressor returns equating ohms resistance, purchased the URC0410 and the only difference is that the pins were not 1 on top, two on bottom, but the opposite, since they were not labeled on the compressor, I tried all three positions with power, and only one started the comp, after about an hour, the compressor is literally hot enough to sizzle a hot rag, I've disconnected power but need direction

    Hi Troy, thanks for the video. I have a Kelvinator Impression Series 500 Twin Air No Frost 1998 model. For the past 3 days the fridge department temperature oscillates between 13 and 15 degrees and the freezer temperature is 0 degrees (and not freezing ice-blocks). The freezer evaporator fan is working, the compressor is starting and working, the evaporator is not over-frosting, the air ducts between freezer and fridge departments are free of blockage, cool air is circulating into the fridge compartment, I couldn’t find the defrost thermostat behind the freezer panel, the defrost timer is not stuck in defrost, I tested the heater element using the defrost timer manually and the heater element is heating, I don't know if the defrost timer could be damaged and cycling too often, but I haven't noticed the evaporator fan switch off once, so I don't think that's the problem. The seals were all changed 12 months ago and all sealing well. The problem happened from one day to the next. What can it be, do you have any suggestions? Can the fridge be low on gas? Or can it be something else? Please help.

    Hello dear,
    There is some problem with my fridge which is not cooling at all, it happened just after a month of no use while it was plugged in and turned off from the thermostat switch (although before that one month break, it was working totally fine). When turned on, the compressor starts its normal sound, and water dripping sound through the radiator can be heard from the interior of the fridge and freezer (as in normal refrigerator start up). I searched online for several testing techniques, almost all are the same. There are three probes in the compressor: C, M and S (where C is the top one and M,S are side ways). The resistance check between C-M=40.56, C-S=44.34, and M-S=84.9 ohms. So theoretically, it looks alright, as M-S = (C-S) + (C-M). But the ohm reading examples on the internet are 4, 6 and 10 ohms. May be different types of compressors have different resistant readings. However, the continuity check is a bit ambiguous. The continuity between C-M and C-S is alright, but between M-S is no buzzer sound, however the multimeter displays some ohms reading for it. So i am confused about this test. The relay is a SSR type so cannot be checked. And I am doubtful about that relay because both on it probe and the connecting wire, there is some electrical burning indent. But the continuity between two probes of this relay is ok, so it’s pretty confusing. The thermostat is a large advanced type, so I am not sure how to check that. Please reply me ASAP because m in a heck. or PM at mowaisshahid@gmail.com.
    Thanks

    Hard starts are NOT a fix. It is only temporary. The overload relay @ 9:22 sure looks like a capacitor to me. Also, how did you check the amperage. Maybe just the solid state relay went bad from arcing (turning on and off). Sometimes, the 3 n 1 does not always work in these situations. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR AMPERAGE! Before adding a 3 n 1. An amperage check can be done with an amprobe. Before and after repair.

      how type your refrigerator??? frost/non frost /defrost???

    • @jacobriggs7406
      @jacobriggs7406 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IF you can see the coils in the freezer and they are caked in ice, you have a defrost problem. It only affects the fridge part, your freezer will still be ice cold. You need to pull the panel in the freezer out, and take a hair dryer and melt all the ice off. It should work fine from there. A week later, if the coils are frozen up again. It’s one of three pretty easy things. 1. Defrost timer, about $10 it’s what puts the freezer in defrost mode. 2. Hot Coils Element that melts the ice. Least likely. 3. Thermostat. If it messes up, it never kicks the heat on and it freezes up. Hope you get it.
