Bargnani was actually averaging 21 after Bosh left Toronto, injuries derailed his career. Not saying he would have been a great no 1 pick, but he wasn't as bad as people seem to think he is nowadays
Sean Price not really he was quick at coming out of screen for spot up shots, injuries slowed him down tho and he was never good at staying in front of guard after switching, protecting the rim and defending in general
He's 7ft tall and He only averaged 2.2 Rebounds and 0.5 Blocks. At UCLA, He averaged 5.7 Points and 4 Rebounds. He wasn't even good in College. And Somehow He got drafted.
8:44 : That's funny, it's actually when the Raptors traded BOTH Bargnani AND Rudy Gay away that they immediately got better (Due to DeRozan and Lowry getting much more playing time as a result). 3 of those 4 guys from that very 2006 draft!
JJ barea is amazing honestly. Unndrafted Puerto Rican player been an amazing role player. Fun fact in the 2011 nba finals when we made barea the starter at SG in game 4 we won the next 3 games. Driving to the hoop was way to easy for him always looked to pass or layed it in

I was too young in 2000, so I don't know about that draft, but 2006 wasn't really a very anticipated draft class, especially because it was the first one since the adoption of the one and done rule. A record number of high school players from the 2005 class declared for the draft the year before, so the freshman class that year was very weak and 2006 high school seniors weren't allowed to get in. It had been anticipated to be Greg Oden's draft for 2 years back then, just as much as 2003 was expected to be LeBron's draft (it doesn't matter how things turned out with Oden). So it was already considered kind of a weird class, because some of the talent that should've been part of it left the year before, not knowing what the rules would've been the following year, while others that were considered the top incoming prospects weren't allowed to declare. If you use the internet archive you can see as many of the lottery pick (especially in the second half of the lottery) weren't projected that high the year before or even at the start of the season, they just were able to get the most of a season with a weak class. Brandon Roy was a late bloomer, he wasn't considered a first round pick before his senior year, even though he ended up showing he was worth that kind of selection. Randy Foye wasn't really much of a prospect until his final season. Redick and Morrison were seen respectively as a bubble first rounder and a mid first-late lotto guy, but had too good of a season. Sene came out of nowhere. O'Bryant was able to get the most out of a decent run. It was a weird draft, because it ended up being so bad at the top, but I can't really say there were such big expectations. To me, as of now, one of the most underwhelming drafts ever is the 2014, even though it produced a 2 superstars and a few good players, back then everybody was talking about it as a game changing draft, with at least 4 superstars and many all stars.
Basically the 2000 draft class wasn’t bad at all really when u look at it you see Jamal Crawford Micheal Redd Kenyon Martin and many others it’s just no one was a perinial superstar and no one was really in any MVP conversations
@@pctx1030 He's not sad because of money, he's sad because Roy only lasted for 5-6 seasons and didn't even reached his prime yet. He is the best player on this draft if he didn't got injured.
@@sakamoto8354 why not feel sad for the poor cripple that could have been the best player in the world? I feel no sympathy and would trade my shitty life with roy's any day of the week.
2016 was better, but when a guy that can't shoot the ball is drafted at #1, you know you probably don't have a good draft year. Hence a Malcolm Brogdon winning roty, the lowest scoring roty of all-time if I've read the right stuff. Only averaged 10.2 PPG his rookie year. He does have some skill though as he can shoot the 3-ball _and_ free throws!
I hated Tyrus Thomas. The the whole time he was with the Bulls I kept thinking wasn’t this the guy who played with big baby at LSU? He just never broke out. Can’t believe he was a damn starter the whole time. Brewer was actually a decent roll player. Thabo got good after the bulls traded him of course.
1-5: Vancouver Grizzlies. LOL. Seriously, do every draft year on who they could have gotten and who they drafted. 5 all-stars or the 5 players they ended up with. Stoudemire, Kobe, Vince, etc.
I recognized all of them...though 2K. 😂 Even though I admit that a 2K fan is not always a true NBA fan, but if u love the game and also play the game(in 2K), it really helps! Ever since I played the game, I can easily recognize almost every player from every team in every season, one reasons is that I love creating rosters and My GM(My League) mode, the other is that u don’t follow every players if u r not playing them. Video game plus watching NBA is really helpful for anyone who loves the game. I mean it!
Paul Popoola he means that the 2000 draft didnt have much potential to begin with, but this one had a lot andrea the next dirk and morrison the next larry bird
I was disappointed when Raptor's didn't keep P.J. Tucker. He is a great 3-point shooter and can defend. But luckily the Raptor's got Danny Green who plays very similar to Tucker.. defend first and then 3's.
Karl Anthony towns? Porzingis? markanen?Anthony Davis? Joel embiid? Drummond? Cousins? Kevin Love? Al Horford? Lamarcus Aldridge? Dwight Howard? Bosh? Yao Ming? Pau Gasol? A few years the best big man prospect didn’t work out but a lot of the time they do.
I think drafting is a bit more random when it's 19 year old players instead of 22 year old players. Size matter not; it's their upside and whether they live up to it or not. Bargnani had great upside but never improved one bit during his career. Either he hit his peak when he was drafted, or he just didn't put in the extra effort.
Brandon Roy was a badass. He likely would have been a HOFer if he hadn't had the knee issues. It's also interesting to note how differently the league regards under-sized big men/tweeners these days. Hell, two of the best teams in the league (Rockets/Warriors) both feature centers shorter than 6'7" in their best lineups. Now every team wants to find their own P.J. Tucker, Paul Millsap or Draymond Green.
The clearcut best player of this class is LaMarcus Aldridge although that title could've went to Brandon Roy if it wasn't for the degenerative knees that ended his career quickly. Andrea Bargnani is a freakin' BUST without any doubt. Man I hate draft busts with a few exceptions like Darius Miles and Marvin Williams. You forgot to mention Thabo's days in OKC.
I most recognize Farmar. He was the leading scorer om that Maccabi Tel Aviv team that won the Euroleague in the 10s. He was a really awesome player to watch back then
Adam Morrison really had a rough go. His diabetes and tearing his acl early really hurt him. I remember when he came back years later and dominated some nba summer league and I thought he was going to make a comeback. Unfortunately he wasn’t given a second chance. I think he could of turned out better if circumstances were a bit different.
4 of the top 10 guys in the draft had good careers, while Brandon Roy - the 6th overall pick - had his end prematurely due to knee injuries. But if Roy wasn't injured, he would've been a Hall of Famer if you ask me. He averaged 16.8 points a contest in 6 seasons with Portland and Minnesota. Randy Foye, #7 overall pick, averaged a decent 10.3 points a game in his 11 seasons with an 85.2% free throw percentage. As far as Andrea Bargnani is concerned, the top overall pick in the 2006 draft actually had a solid career in his 10 NBA seasons (2006-16), averaging 14.3 points a game in his career and holds a lifetime free throw percentage of 82.4%. He wasn't the best #1 pick, but he was definitely no bust, either. LaMarcus Aldridge (#2 pick) and Rudy Gay (#8 pick) are both still going strong, and neither one has averaged a single-digit scoring season in their careers. Lifetime, Aldridge averages 19.6 a game, while Gay averages 17.6 a contest. Ironically, they became teammates in the summer of 2017 in San Antonio and have remained that way ever since. Leon Powe, a mid-2nd-round pick in the 2006 draft, was the first player out of the entire draft class to win an NBA Championship, which came with the Celtics back in 2008. He last played in the NBA with the Grizzlies in 2011 and retired the very next year after spending time overseas in Puerto Rico. Other guys who were picked in the draft that are still in the league having productive careers are J.J. Redick (#11), Thabo Sefolosha (#13), Rajon Rondo (#21), P.J. Tucker (#35), and Paul Millsap (#47). Tucker played his rookie season for the Raptors, but then spent 5 years overseas before returning to the league and signing with the Suns in 2012.

Andy Hoops. about the sefolosha NYPD thing, new York City paid 4million dallors to sefolosha in a lawsuit. sefolosha himself admitted to arguing with the police. they got into an argument and the police, most likely by accident broke his right fibula. neither side was blameless, he was arguing while the police were trying to clear the block because someone was stabbed. I don't think this police incident had anything to do with this video though. BTW if do mention this stuff, give CONTEXT it's important to do saying the police broke a black guys leg gives no context at all, and makes it sound as though they broke his leg because he's black, there is more to it then that.

Basically the 2000 draft class wasn’t bad at all really when u look at it you see Jamal Crawford Micheal Redd Kenyon Martin and many others it’s just no one was a perinial superstar and no one was really in any MVP conversations
brandon roy.... still makes me so sad
Sad for a guy who made millions? Smh.
@@pctx1030 well that's on you
@@sakamoto8354 yeah well, when you lose all your fortunes and get spit on, someone will pity you, you worthless pos.
Did the 2014 draft class make the cut for also the most underwhelming? Hoping you’ll make a video about that too andy
Who’s here after laMarcus Aldridge retiring 💔
2016 was better, but when a guy that can't shoot the ball is drafted at #1, you know you probably don't have a good draft year. Hence a Malcolm Brogdon winning roty, the lowest scoring roty of all-time if I've read the right stuff. Only averaged 10.2 PPG his rookie year. He does have some skill though as he can shoot the 3-ball _and_ free throws!
Malcolm is a Good Player on the Pacers.
JJ Redick is still my favorite from this draft
I hated Tyrus Thomas. The the whole time he was with the Bulls I kept thinking wasn’t this the guy who played with big baby at LSU? He just never broke out. Can’t believe he was a damn starter the whole time. Brewer was actually a decent roll player. Thabo got good after the bulls traded him of course.
How about top 5 teams who drafted a bust right before a star player
Wdr48 JDA he could make one for each team
1-5: Vancouver Grizzlies. LOL. Seriously, do every draft year on who they could have gotten and who they drafted. 5 all-stars or the 5 players they ended up with. Stoudemire, Kobe, Vince, etc.
Brandon Roy was the main reason i got into and out the nba. Time to rewatch all the tributes on yt once again :D
I recognized all of them...though 2K. 😂
Even though I admit that a 2K fan is not always a true NBA fan, but if u love the game and also play the game(in 2K), it really helps!
Ever since I played the game, I can easily recognize almost every player from every team in every season, one reasons is that I love creating rosters and My GM(My League) mode, the other is that u don’t follow every players if u r not playing them.
Video game plus watching NBA is really helpful for anyone who loves the game. I mean it!
Andy hoops the goat
Addicted to Andy Hoops Dom2k and Mike Korzomba’s videos!
Omg those are my top 3 NBA TH-camrs XD
BJ Alex Andy hoops, Mike Korzomba, Austin Sweatt
how about Rb and MJ2K?
just like all star games. can we also have a draft game? 2018 draft pick vs 2019 draft pick?
I thought Andy said it was the 2000 draft, great vid nonetheless
Paul Popoola he means that the 2000 draft didnt have much potential to begin with, but this one had a lot andrea the next dirk and morrison the next larry bird
He said 2000 was the worst, but the 2006 was the most underwhelming (ie it underperformed).
I was disappointed when Raptor's didn't keep P.J. Tucker. He is a great 3-point shooter and can defend. But luckily the Raptor's got Danny Green who plays very similar to Tucker.. defend first and then 3's.
He got waived for Luke Jackson
Brandon Roy would be in the Hall of Fame if his knees didn’t give out
Andy please do a video about the 1988 draft. Its filled with interesting storylines and underrated players literally no one ever talks about.
I have an Adam Morrison Jersey. No regerts lol
Rudy Gay never became an All-Star because Kevin Love was already in it. The NBA did not want that kind of combo
Kyle Lowry is my favorite from the draft and my second favorite player in the league
Rajon Rondo draft steal this draft
Mr. Triple Double
Boston fan here
Adam Morrison looks like Steven Adams
But Steven Adams is a Better Player.
Great vid bro. 2014 was terrible too 😂😂😂 keep up the good content bro. 💯
This draft class was the most injury prone am i correct?
His “yeeeaa” sounds like he’s throwing so much shade lol
Lmao 😂
This draft is the clear example of why teams shouldn’t draft big men with really high picks
@@Paulafan5 He put his effort into Primo.
Paulafan5 w
JJ stands out to me because I didn't expect his game to translate well but he's still a solid role player
Im listening.. Where's Rondo? He's not bad at all now. or ever.. He's still working on game
cla clash Rondo is in the vid
Brandon Roy was a badass. He likely would have been a HOFer if he hadn't had the knee issues. It's also interesting to note how differently the league regards under-sized big men/tweeners these days. Hell, two of the best teams in the league (Rockets/Warriors) both feature centers shorter than 6'7" in their best lineups. Now every team wants to find their own P.J. Tucker, Paul Millsap or Draymond Green.
And Don't forgot Versatile Players
WTF the 42nd pick at 3:50 is ALLAN RAY
Yea he got his eye poked out look it up
The clearcut best player of this class is LaMarcus Aldridge although that title could've went to Brandon Roy if it wasn't for the degenerative knees that ended his career quickly. Andrea Bargnani is a freakin' BUST without any doubt. Man I hate draft busts with a few exceptions like Darius Miles and Marvin Williams.
You forgot to mention Thabo's days in OKC.
Ryan Hollins lmao
I most recognize Farmar. He was the leading scorer om that Maccabi Tel Aviv team that won the Euroleague in the 10s. He was a really awesome player to watch back then
Novak is an underrated 3pt shoot tbh
He's also slow as fuck and can't really catch and shoot off screens.
Andrea's stats are eh shaky but he did have one 20 points per game season with Toronto
Did you guys know Golden State blew a 3-1 lead in the finals?
But now they're 3-1 in the last 4 finals...
Zdotus they'll blow that lead too, trust me.
cavs 0 - 4
How can they blow that lead when the Cavs will never be in the finals again and just be a lottery team from now on lol.
for every 3-1 jokes they get, they add 1 more star to their roster
Adam Morrison really had a rough go. His diabetes and tearing his acl early really hurt him. I remember when he came back years later and dominated some nba summer league and I thought he was going to make a comeback. Unfortunately he wasn’t given a second chance.
I think he could of turned out better if circumstances were a bit different.
Look for him to be a successful coach at the college level. He's currently an assistant under his mentor Mark Few.
too bad the legend andyhoops died from ligma
Mega MT what is that?
Costco the baller LIGMA BALLS
Lol I remember when people were saying Bargnani was the next Dirk Nowitzki
🔥🔥🔥
Adam Morrison would've thrived with an organization that wasn't the Bobcats.
Glad Lowry has come into his own in a major way. He no longer needs Houston.
Looking at this video made me realize this draft produced like 7 good or really good players and 3 or 4 decent players. Not all that bad.
Both Rondo and Lowry NBA champs... Rondo becomes the 2nd player to win a ring with both Celtics and Lakers!
Do a draft comparison video for the 2018 draft like last year
i only remember steve novak from the 2k13 start were he does that belt thing
i wish there was highlights online of pj tucker at texas but cant ind any
I used to love watching the Lakers when Shannon Brown was playing for them he always did something to entertain me!!

Knoda G thanks homie! Good luck to u and god bless u!
I REALLY wouldn’t be surprised if this last draft (2020) ends up being kind of like this where a lot of the recognizable names in ten years are later picks and second rounders
Let’s nickname this one the Upset Draft. Most of the top picks were fails, but a lot of low picks were stars.
How about no?
Mad the Bulls didn't keep Aldridge but if they kept him they wouldn't have got D. Rose the next season.
I am 13 and everyone calls me rondo because I can't shoot( I can shoot a little bit if I am in a good day) but I can pass and see the court and play great defense and nobody wants me on the team because I am short!
“Grizzlies had theirs best season”
Shows clip of Parker scoring on Randolph*
😂
That was a bad ass whoopin the spurs gave them
Andy Hoops. about the sefolosha NYPD thing, new York City paid 4million dallors to sefolosha in a lawsuit. sefolosha himself admitted to arguing with the police. they got into an argument and the police, most likely by accident broke his right fibula. neither side was blameless, he was arguing while the police were trying to clear the block because someone was stabbed. I don't think this police incident had anything to do with this video though. BTW if do mention this stuff, give CONTEXT it's important to do saying the police broke a black guys leg gives no context at all, and makes it sound as though they broke his leg because he's black, there is more to it then that.
