It’s the desperate want to leave this earth to escape the pain and hurt. Eternal ascension…… It’s so fucking sad. You could go straight into Are You Really Okay because that’s Vessel looking back in from the outside after trying to take that god awful step. Crushing. Broken. Alone. We are longing for the healing of Euclid….. time to be somebody new.
My personal favorite Sleep Token song. It's emblematic of everything I enjoy about the band. Evocative, heavy, tragic, and beautiful all at the same time.

THE MOMENT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! Btw, the harsh vocals on this one are a mix of Vessel and IV. IV does the low harsh vocals on Vore during live shows and he is insanely good!!!
That is the case for live performances, but as far as I know so far in the studio recordings all the vocals are exclusively Vessel's. It might change for future releases now that the band has a more stable lineup up, but Vessel and II are the only members credited on everything released upto this point. With that said IV has great sounding harshes which I'd like to hear on a studio track one day. Although I won't be surprised if for the sake of consistency and because the songs are from a deep personal perspective Vessel remains as the only voice on studio tracks.

I was just starting to get into Sleep Token when this album came out and I had already heard the singles which ar essentially the first 5 songs (+ D.Y.W.D.Y.L.M.). And I was thinking "Alright these must be the best songs on the record and the second half is probably going to be weaker", and then I listened to Ascensionism... 🤯🤯🤯 I ended up liking Ascensionism, The Apparition, Rain, Take me back to Eden and Euclid even more than I did the previously released singles. 😂 The band were actually really smart with the album structure and picking the singles.

This was one that took a bit to grow on me but i really loved yalls reaction to it and i think it made me actually like it alot more. It's not a bad song by any means, i guess its just kind of hard for me to decipher the lyrics during the harsh parts. All the same, still a great song and i think yall will really love the next one too.

This one was a grower for me, I thought it's just another "gods" heavy track to add in there (which probably was the intention) but actually it's a very well constructed song and a haunting vibe throughout! I hope he's not in too much pain anyway
I have a work in progress theory that TMBTE album intentionally mirrors Sundowning, in the sense that if you have Sundowning in order (track 1-12) and then look at TMBTE backwards (track 12-1) each song calls back to the opposite track from the first album. In that order Vore aligns with Gods, and both are the heaviest songs in the entire album trilogy plus the "gods" themselves are mentioned in both songs as well as some other recurring lyrical themes.
@@Andrey.Ivanov this is an interesting take as I believe these albums are vessel’s sort of version of the Jung’s red book. The songs subjects seem like archetypes. Very much a cyclical pattern too. Plus with all the references to alchemy it only makes sense.

Vessel does the harsh vocals on the studio version of this song. He also does them live but IV adds to it by layering with some deeper screams.
