Dunno if anyone's still reading these, but I saw a good tip on a video once; it's sometimes good to glue a tiny amount of coal/iron ore/stone/whatever into the corners of your wagons, to make it look like they were recently unloaded, but not fully cleaned out by the staff.
Dave - Reference the 'full' wagon vocal loads, if you paint the cardboard black on the top side before adding the coal, this will hide any bare patches. Hope this helps.
On the coal on cardboard i would paint the card the same colour as the coal/load. After dry you can also spray glue mix in top to help set the load. Another way to do removable loads is line the wagon with plastic kitchen wrap then fill with material and glue. When dry remove and peel of plastic
Try not to make the coal levels too flat as they were usually loaded in the centre so tended to have a slight heap in the middle, im not being picky but just remember seeing them in rel life that way. Good tips on modelling though so all good 🙂

Thanks for the tip - I didn't have any paint to hand for the stream but its certainly great advice to use with our Wagon Load kits - Dave.

Great tips Mike - there's certainly many ways to use our wagon kits and we may cover some in a future video.
A good video Dave, I like the enthusiasm, nice one
Thanks Linda - its easy to get enthusiastic about model railways and the exciting skills that are easy to learn :-) - Dave
This is a useful episode.
Future SkillsCast suggestion: how to add 3d printed model kittens to a model signalbox. All good signalboxes had a cat.
Thanks for watching James - I'll add your idea to the list as it's a purrfect idea for an episode.... :-)

Some great advice there Leslie - its always worth looking at a few real life photos for inspiration too. Thanks for watching.
I like to see a skill modelling a control panel with lights showing a route
Thanks Michael, we'll add it to the list :-)
not to ask a stupid question, but.... can't we just use the loads without gluing them in?
