When Mike Portnoy came down to Melbourne in 1996, he had us do a whole Dream Theater show with him and we headlined the Australian Ultimate Drummers Weekend festival. Was great fun!

Very impressive, both vocally and instrumentally. This is about as close as you could ever ask. I was 16 in 1978 when my friend next door called me up and said, "I got that Van Halen record, you better get over here right away". Like everybody else, I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
As a guitarist whose life was changed by hearing Eddie when this album first came out, I have to say that this is the BEST rendition of his playing and sound that I have EVER heard! 💯🥇💯 It is not a robotic carbon copy of notes played, but a true appreciation of the nuances that made Eddie's playing and tone so special. Every other guitarist I have heard try to play like him, always impart some "foreign" element of their own playing style that throws me off. Here...even when not played note for note, the "spirit" of Eddie's approach comes through so clearly it is incredible! Hearing the solo in Ice Cream Man played so perfectly gave me goosebumps! 🤦♂️ The whole band did an amazing job as well, and truly did this album justice. Thank you so much for this Simon!🙏🙏🙏

Well, you guys absolutely captured the studio album to every little detail, and brought it to a stage, like the preface of the video said. Outstanding! 👏
You can be the biggest fan, you can “learn” all the songs, you can spend forever dialing in the gear, and you can get your stripey guitar and still sound like somebody else trying to sound like EVH. I must say that this was very well done. Even Ed’s live sound didn’t sound this much like the album, and the singer remembered AND sang all of the words. I’m blown away.

2 years late but this was amazing. As a guitarist i really loved this. Not a lot of guitarist interpretation that many Van Halen cover guitarist try to inject to make it unique. This stayed true to the source material and gave it a certain authenticity.

Lol. You know that’s how great and unique they were during the 80 Invasion and the Mean Streets tours. Mean Street tour by far was the most exciting show I’ve ever seen in 40 years. So after a half of bottle of Jack if he was flat or sharp nobody gave a rats ass and overall the experience was far more special then any other trend setting gig. We’ll not really trend setting because NOBODY could take it that high.
The groove you guys have is unreal! It's almost impossible to duplicate the groove that Eddie had on "I'm the One", but damn, you guys come as close as anyone I've heard! Same with "Atomic Punk". Just amazing! Great job!

This is the best VH Tribute I've heard...better than the Atomic Punks...not even close. I like how they are true to the music but not trying to look or act like VH. Just good musicians playing good music. His guitar tone is spot on. Looks like a Marshall Plexi with a Kemper next to it.

😳 This blew me away. The amount of research, practice and rehearsal to learn everything so accurate must have been crazy. So solid. Even backup harmonies. Guitar player is killer ! Talk about attention to detail!

Lol. You know that’s how great and unique they were during the 80 Invasion and the Mean Streets tours. Mean Street tour by far was the most exciting show I’ve ever seen in 40 years. So after a half of bottle of Jack if he was flat or sharp nobody gave a rats ass and overall the experience was far more special then any other trend setting gig. We’ll not really trend setting because NOBODY could take it that high.

The groove you guys have is unreal! It's almost impossible to duplicate the groove that Eddie had on "I'm the One", but damn, you guys come as close as anyone I've heard! Same with "Atomic Punk". Just amazing! Great job!

I've heard Eruption played maybe 2 million times since that album came out. I don't think even Eddie played it like that more than once himself, for the album. You did it about perfectly sir.
This is the best VH Tribute I've heard...better than the Atomic Punks...not even close. I like how they are true to the music but not trying to look or act like VH. Just good musicians playing good music. His guitar tone is spot on. Looks like a Marshall Plexi with a Kemper next to it.
