El Portal looks like the entrance to a cathedral, impressive! Thanks for another informative and entertaining travel guide. 👍
Thank you so much!! El Portal is beautiful and the landscape makes you feel immersed in the rainforest. Thank you always for the support! 😄🙌🏼🙏🏼🇵🇷
It is a beautiful and interesting structure, for sure.
Incredible videos! Thank you for all the recommendations for Puerto Rico! We are celebrating our honeymoon here this Spring, can’t wait to explore some of these treasures that you’ve highlighted.

Cool video! Just visited El Yunque yesterday for the first time and almost ignored el portal. Glad I didn't cause that place is awesome!
Thank you! Glad you were able to visit! Spending at least one hour there is totally worth it!

Yes!! The wait was well worth it! Thank you so much! 😄🙌🏼🙏🏼🇵🇷
I made friends with all the staff there, so I can recognize them.
Haha awesome Andrew! Glad you were able to visit and make some friends!
Home in Colinas 🙌🏻
Wepa!!! Colinas en la casa! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Wow. I'm surprised to hear that El Portal suffered structural damage from Hurricane Maria. It seems like a concrete and steel fortress.
It really does! I don’t really know exactly what was damaged, but maybe it has to do with the fact that it’s an open structure. But I have no idea. I’m just glad it’s open once again! 🙏🏼😄🇵🇷
@@BriksTravelGuides I found out that they spent $20 million to re-open it. I think it was part repairs and part upgrade and remodel. Dang, that's a lot of money.
It really is! Though they did a great job because it looks absolutely beautiful!
whats up Briks Come look at all the ufo I have coming in and out of the volcano,
Some say there’s a mysterious mineral mine up in El Yunque as well! 👽🛸😱
3:10, that ranger is Victor.
Apparently one of the veterans and most knowledgeable ones there! It was a treat to listen to him talk. 🙌🏼🇵🇷😄
I’m going for thanksgiving and I was wondering if I’ll need to make a reservation for that time of the year to visit El Yunque
Hey! Last time I checked you did need to make a reservation. We recently got hit by Hurricane Fiona so the park is closed to everyone at the moment. Hopefully it can open again by the time you visit.
@@BriksTravelGuides, 😑 That’s what I thought
Hi Brik, heading to PR in a week or so. If reservations show NR is there any chance of getting into the Park? Are there trail heads that don’t need a reservation?
Great info on the channel!
Hey Matthew! I believe that they release more spots for each day at 8AM, so keep an eye out just in case. If not, you could visit the surrounding rivers and waterfalls. I made a video of them so check that out. A great hiking alternative to El Yunque is Toro Negro (not to be confused with the Toro Verde zip lines) which offers great hiking trails, similar vegetation and a breathtaking view. It’s further away from San Juan than El Yunque, but it’s definitely worth it. Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Great video! About how far from San Juan is the visitor center? Do you recommend renting a car to visit?
Hey Mark! Thank you so much!! El Portal is about 45 minutes from Old San Juan. There are different options to get there. You might be able to find a taxi that takes you, but renting a car will give you the most flexibility.
@@BriksTravelGuides great info. Thanks for the insight!
Happy to help! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
