    Just letting you know you’re right about the general bell size of Euphoniums. I think they’re usually 11”-12”. I haven’t seen anything smaller or larger, but there probably is somewhere. Very well made review.

    Hey, maybe you mention it in an other video but what was your experience as a trumpet player to play those bass brass instruments ? Is getting use enough or proper training is necessary (as an hobbyist)

      @SamuelPlaysBrass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I strongly suggest professional or semi-pro lessons depending on your financial situation, because even as a hobbyist it's so important to get a solid foundation on whatever instrument you play. Hobbies are supposed to be fun, and realizing you learned to play in such a way that is harmful to you is the opposite of fun.

    I beat the bot. That beat was beat. That horn was neat. I'll take a seat.

      Speaking of, I haven't heard from our favorite bot in a while. It's quite a shame. I do hope the poor thing is okay.

    Where did the Brueggmeister even get this

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass
      @SamuelPlaysBrass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heart react for the use of the term "Brueggmeister," but I'm sure he just got this secondhand from somewhere like all the other school baritones. Probably a retired brass band player, seeing as it's a UK model.

      @@SamuelPlaysBrass if its UK and rare in the US would it be super valuable over here

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass
      @SamuelPlaysBrass  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@megastarwarsrocks99 Nah, it's just an intermediate Yamaha instrument. The fact that it's built in a UK configuration alone might make it rare but not that valuable.

    Tbh, I feel like this instrument has stuffiness issues like the valve trombone, based on the tone the lower you get.

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass
      @SamuelPlaysBrass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any low brass instrument that is so dramatically cylindrical in bore will have inherent stuffiness below about an F in the staff, unfortunately. It's much like the trumpet in that sense. However, this instrument is significantly less stuffy than what I remember a valve trombone feeling like. Most valve trombones have almost trumpet-sized valve blocks, rendering them nearly unplayable towards the bottom of the bass staff.

    • @mayclarque4123
      @mayclarque4123 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Samuel Plays Brass Oddly enough, my trombones don’t have that problem, I think it’s because of the valve block

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass
      @SamuelPlaysBrass  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mayclarque4123 Fair point. On every small bore trombone I've played I've had the issue of the low register being a bit "barky," but I guess that's a separate issue.

      Samuel Plays Brass well large bore f attachment trombones would feel a lot better than a peashooter, as those are only meant to play as low as a low e

      John Cena definitely, although even a couple F attachment tenors I’ve played can be quite stuffy below low Ab

    I'm trombonist but i practice baritone (with this horn)

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass

      It's a really good horn considering it's a student/intermediate model! I like it more than the YEP-201 and 321 euphoniums.

  • @pukalo
    @pukalo ปีที่แล้ว

    I prefer the sound of the baritone horn over the euphonium.

    • @SamuelPlaysBrass
      @SamuelPlaysBrass  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. My preference would be the euphonium's sound but I think it's sort of like comparing apples to oranges. You can't really have one without the other.
