- In part 1 of this three-part interview, Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of MicroStrategy, claims that Bitcoin's credibility has improved over the past year in the midst of crypto collapses and bank failures. He told Michelle Makori, Lead Anchor and Editor-in-Chief at Kitco News, that banks, nonprofits, and governments will eventually own Bitcoin. Claiming that he is a 'Bitcoin realist,' Saylor also discussed Bitcoin's role as an inflation hedge and store of value, contrasting it against gold.

(And as always I get happy thoughts when I watch Michael S. This time I learned of a credible way that companies, institutions etc is going to adapt into Bitcoin.)

20 years ago 430 ounces of gold was equivalent to my house price, house price increased x 4 since then but only

So you made 100% of gains calculated in gold or 300% in US-Dollars over 20 years.
Fascinating interview, really a classic. However Zoltan Poszar said at Bitcoin 2023 “Pozsar outlined his pessimism that bitcoin could ever really serve as money, as his historical research has shown him that money has to have a direct link to a government to endure. As a fundamentally decentralized, peer-to-peer network, Bitcoin could not support money that fits his definition.”
An Oz of gold buys the same value of goods today, as it did 6000 years ago. People don't seem to understand that you don't need to have your "asset" constantly chasing a devalueating "debt based"Fiat currency, hoping it will go up in value.
Gold doesn't behave like Fiat or Bit coin currency, because it's not currency, it's Real Money.
$1 of bitcoin in 2009 would buy a mansion and yachts now in 2023. Perspective.

Regulators know that by delaying crypto regulation, they are slowing down and hurting Bitcoin, due to derivatives and rehypothecation of paper Bitcoin. By hurting Bitcoin, they effectively stall and delay development of crypto tokens as well. So, the regulators THEMSELVES are attacking the thing they are being asked to fairly regulate.
Crypto will never be bitcoin. Crypto has trademarks. They are generally securities with svengali operators. No thanks. Bitcoin and gold only.

It's going to take years for cbdcs to be rolled out. You should buy as much as you can now
CBDCs won’t work. Fiat is already CBDCs
You won’t need exchanges. You could go buy “chairs” or furniture or whatever and instead of the “whatever” you get sats from someone with lots of Sats and willing to sell at a price. Then you can go spend your sats however you want with no government control or say in how you spend them.

Great interview, MSaylor, answers are very complex and well defined, that makes it easy to understand. His research and adoption of "The Best Crypto Asset", as he explains and compares, with a breakdown with the pros & cons, makes lots of sense. Maybe passionate or subjective on the his personal take, but this is a very bright, educated and intelligent man, who with all the volatilities in the crypto ecosystem, still remains very focus and positive about it. He surely makes very good points! Thank you

Nobody talks about how (they) keep targeting and eliminating On and Off ramps for fiat currency.
I have watched saylor many times but this time he is clear on every point. This was the best explanation I have heard on his commitment and knowledge of finance.
Saylor never really answered the questions about the potential danger of a bitcoin derivatives market to impact the value of bitcoin and affect its relative volatility. If Bitcoin is to eventually be adopted by billions of people, it's volatility needs to be reduced significantly. A "regulated" Bitcoin derivatives market would very likely not serve that purpose. The only purpose it would serve would be to make bankers and billionaires even more extraordinarily wealthy than they already are. He knows this and so he skirted the question by talking about custodianship and she let him off the hook.
Agreed...Hard not to agree with Saylor's overall thesis, but his avoidance of derivatives topic definitely by choice. He is a very intelligent man who doesn't miss much...

He pointed out the downsides across all options. Gold wasn't even close. The gold market has been saturated for hundreds of years, it's better to get into an asset like gold in the early days and the gold rush days are over. It is still early days for bitcoin...

The Collapse of these banks has torn into global markets , I was really hopeful of my investments this year, but all my plans have been disoriented, I've been studying the market crashes and I realized some investors made millions from the recent 2008 recession and I was wondering if such success rate could be achieved in this present market. Any recommendations?
Cryptocurrency crashed the last couple years, so it should be starting a new run to a new high.
Throw it into medium term fund / Hold some in gold and some tech stocks. I feel exceptionally lucky I started investing in my early 40s and consistently compounded my income to create more cash flow. I grew to a 7 figure well-diversified portfolio having exposure to different prolific investments mainly stocks, real estate, metals, and high yield dividend funds. ever grateful to Trisha Jean Webb my F.A...

the 'Can bitcoin fail' part didn't answer the question at all and it's one of the most important things to know. The rest we've heared many times before. If I were the interviewer it would just ask the question again.

Gold and Silver don't depend on the internet like bitcoin. Also, the bank centralization of bitcoin through regulation seems potentially problematic.
No a ETF would allow the coin to be like gold n silver and controlled. Leave bitcoin to the people.

Wrong. A spot ETF is not equivalent to a futures ETF. Again, this is all very simple and basic market knowledge.
Silver is the most conductive metal known to man. Copper losses are a problem.

So far I’ve made more $$$ with Btc but I remain diversified adding gold and silver!

I get gold and silver for "insurance". Get BTC for growth (when the time is right).
It's amazing when you speak about asset without physical aspect. So where is the asset? Sure you give your printed money to an image. Some banker takes that money and work it out the same way as a normal bank.
