That stuff happened around 7 years afterwards. And given the portrayal of their relationship in the movie, it would feel pretty jarring to put that into an ending text summary. You'd have to re-write a lot of their scenes to make that feel earned.

Both of them have some variation instead of the whole one lesbian meets a married closeted lesbian trope.
Please watch The Firefly it is on Netflix and it is in Spanish but it is so emotional and beautiful, it is about two girls called Lucia and Marriana who bond over the death of a loved one.
