I imagine you're right as far as how long it would take. We (at least in the US) really put little effort into learning anything about the way other nationalities pronounce (or do) anything. We're not cultural. We're still so stuck up we won't learn the metric system. It's sad. Some names just can't be said correctly by people with certain accents. So, we'd have to train ourselves. That takes time. Americans are lazy, and few have any interest because they think "we" are better than other nationalities. I know better.

The way he pronounced Saoirse was ‘seersha’ is how it’s pronounced in much of Ireland. Also Caoimhe is pronounced kweeva not keema Luke the naan 😂 what “irish” person made this.
I wonder how many Irish people can correctly pronounce MVG's name. Michael van Gerwen it is not. Michael van Herr-wen is actually right. Not a lot of people know that.
I don't think that, and I am sorry if it came across in that way. Although I accept I should know better, I lived in Ireland for a while and I know that people over there seem to think that everybody else thinks they are stupid - especially the English, when in actual fact I am Welsh anyway, and we think the English look down on us too. With the Irish it is probably the opposite, in reality, British people are usually amazed at your wit and intelligence. Only, when you are physically threatened in a pub for simply saying you like Father Ted and not a single person comes to defend you, you tend to lose your love for the place.
0:16 Gary Wood was correct?? Russ Bray was wrong!!

You should try to pronounce Dutch names, perhaps after 10 years you’ll be able to pronounce MVG’s name properly
Absolutely. Although I still wonder if Michael is pronounced as in English or as in German.
You just say Michael in Dutch the same way you say Michael Smith
Ja echt hè
