The last time I went on a double decker bus, it was with my school way back in the late 80's and early 90's. Double deckers were the only bus I caught when I was in highschool and were driven by our teachers. Going on a double decker was awesome! I loved it .....until it broke down on a few occasions (no air). Because everything ran on air (gears included), the bus was undrivable. There was even one time where it actually broke down in the best spot ever: out front of my house! 😂 Thanks for the memories!

My dad was a conductor on the old Routemasters in London. He didn't wear shorts 🙂 Smoking upstairs, non-smoking downstairs from memory.

Hi Phil, interesting video. I remember many years ago collecting a Lesney Matchbox version of this type of bus, though I have never managed to ride the real article. Some years back, I rode in a red vintage double deck bus in Bendigo, though this turned out to be an ex-Sydney green and cream bus repainted red in the London type colours. Anyway, wishing you the very best. Rob in Melbourne Australia.

Hopefully the clutch was light to use or the driver had and extremely strong left leg as it would be a nightmare driving the Sydney CBD!. Cool to watch though, cheers.

Get on this straight after a ride on a green Sydney decker and feel the difference. Like night and day.

Went on this previously. I liked it more then the Australian double decker vintage buses because they looked more stable. The Australian double decker buses looked one side heavier and about to topple over. Nope actually this bus still looks as if it is about to topple over - so top heavy

The double deck trolley buses were something to see. I remember going on one a Rockdale and Kogarah as a child. When turning the corners, the bus seemed to lean over sideways.

      No.
Abandoned Oz is the channel name which i wont change as it has been like that for nearly 10 years.
The banner says exploring australias history and abandonments :)
I’ve expanded the channel to include things of historic significance
