That’s like telling the slave masters that the people they enslaved should be grateful that they were not unemployed because they were able to work sun up to sundown with no pay, or how they should give thanks for the meals he provided, even though it was the most disgusting parts of the animal his family would not eat, etc., etc., etc. But, more to your point, I guess you must also think that the enslaved, once emancipated, should have never told their side of the story, leaving their side of HISTORY never to be known.
