This could have been on MTV’s Alternative Nation in 1993. Love this!
If it came out in the 90’s, I’m sure I’d have fallen in love with this while procrastinating from doing my weekend homework. All while watching Matt Pinfield on 120 Minutes. Sundays 11p-1am cst hasn’t been that magical since.
But it came out recently so you can enjoy it now...
Nah the song sounds way more 2000s than 90s
Very strong L7 vibes
@@Samia-2003 hell yea
I love how they managed to make it look like the 90's.
90's Baby 🖤
Looks more like early 00s,cky and stuff
@@dethsync6832 absolutely. 2000s coated AF
if it were 480p it would be even more immersive
I genuinely thought it was from the 90's-
If Paramore was heavy
nailed it!
Real
2005 Paramore in steroid
People hear any female fronted band and immediately claim "paramore" as if shes the only female rock singer
@@mashpotatosauce3566ikr this is absolutely nothing like Paramore lmao
I hear Hum, Failure, Deftones, Dinosaur Jr., Smashing Pumpkins, Slowdive, even bits of Foo Fighters. Awesome sound, can't wait for this release!
My first thought was if Paramore played in drop b tuning
yeah i hear a lot of deftones influence
@@twerktospec You can just listen to this band then, and not them? Nobody is making you think or feel anything at all, bud. Sorry you're so frustrated and don't know where to vent.
i hear fleshwater
Y'all are so cringe, shut up n listen to music
Fleshwater is so damn great, riff almost sounds like the Smashing Pumpkins Everlasting Gaze. Vein gets more attention but Fleshwater needs to be a full ass project
thought the same thing 💯
It already is a full ass project my man, album coming very soon!
@@_murderyourmemory_ I just saw that, super excited. Cold Gawd kind of let me down so I’m hoping this album lives up to the hype
I didn’t even know they shared members?
@@SpiritxTower Its all the members of Vein plus Mirsy on vocals
Nailed that 90s aesthetic
Been following Fleshwater since their demo in 2020. Beyond ecstatic for this new album. Every song they put out is incredible.
same, when I first discovered them I think I was floating in my room, it was that sick
@@beanika I still remember the day, time and place when I first heard the demo. Nothing ever made me feel as euphoric and nostalgic in my life, and I’ve listened to A LOT of music.
Same man. Fleshwater is eventually gonna be one of my fav bands. Next to Type O Negative. Guttural Secrete And Dystopia
wow youre so old school
@@beanika just heard them now, that’s how I’m feeling.
I remember when folks would rag on bands like superheaven (daylight) for their 90's grunge revival 10 years ago, and now here we are leaning HARD into the aesthetic.
This sounds awesome, looks great, and really captures the moment we're in, longing for something before, while being fully aware of the emotions and appearance it was.
couldn’t of said it better
people who ragged on it back then are DORKS this style is always incredible no doubt. well said brother.
Superheaven is such an underrated band. Love both there albums. I hope they release another soon
superheaven is blowing up right now, the wave is starting
Diehard shoegazer here and I absolutely love this new wave of post grunge
The whole album is fucking glorious, but what happens in this song after 1:55 is something i'd like to tattoo in my soul if i could.
No shit man… the bit at 2:08 might be one of my favorite things I’ve ever heard. The lyrics+vocals just flow out so well and compliment each other and everything else. Still not sick of this song
Can we talk about 1:14 though
Been listening to these guys since I first saw them at a house show in '95. This song brings back great memories.
Lol what
@@velliebelliethink they were being sarcastic lol
nah but you could deadass fool me into think they were a band from the 90s with no context lol.
I discovered them from an episode of Buffy
@@EternoUnohonestly, props to people who can pull of these dated recording techniques and make it believable for people who aren’t in the know
Her voice is comforting. This is so well done 😍
Check out her solo stuff

that's certainly one way to put it
extremely underated, im glad music like this is still being made
A CLASSIC IS INCOMING. MY BODY IS READY.
I can’t describe what this album does to me. It’s like feeling serious love hormones for memories I’ve never experienced. I adore this album so much.
I do it but with the memories that experienced. This albums is such a rush of feelings
SAME❤
Yes I like the entire album except for just 1 song, long time not listening to a whole good record
These guys are the real time travellers
This fills the void adventures left
adventures ain't got nothing on this lol
why does this look like it was recorded in 2005? i love it
way earlier
Looks like 1995 maybe

I saw this song on a youtube reel and thought "wow, a band from the late 90s/early 2000s that i havent heard" man.... this makes me happy
Man this is good. You get music like Living Weapon to Vein to Fleshwater.
Fuck these are talented musicians.
I'm definitely ordering this album
Those three bands are becoming my favorites. All three just put out bangers.
yeah this .fm string for me started with "oh it's .fm now.. hm. that's cool" to it turning into a cult following and i'm here for it all yhe way
Here's where I shout-out Wayside.
Been obsessed for a few months. They scratch that itch for me.
Shout out to Spotify for recommending this band 💯
OMG the ending. OMG wtf. I need this LP in my life already.

What's going on right now?
Is it someone else?
Six feet, dig it up
Blame it on yourself again
Reach in, let it out
We can shut it down
These are the symptoms of you
Making me say all the truth
And if you ask how
We can't figure out
Why we lost ourselves
So let go
Come back
I wish it was that easy
We're all just victims of ourselves
Searching our way out the shell
These are the symptoms of you
Making me sick
And it gets contagious
I've lost my patience
More desperate than before
How, how is it?
So they say
What's on your mind?
How, how deserving
It's a lie
In the space between every I and you
You'll be safe and green
till your lips turn blue
Return
Start again
You'll starve again
Just start stop ending
To heal the pain
You can't take away
You can't take no way
Just stop and start it
Just start stop ending
Just stop and start it
To heal the pain
Just stop and start it
You can't take away

Marisa has an amazing voice that fits so well with the riffs
Everybody talks about how you guys remember them of X or Y band, but y'all have a genuinely unique sound. I'm a fan. Looking forward to listen to more stuff from you guys.
Fr! They have the sound I've been looking for for years but couldn't ever find, especially as a girl singer who likes heavy music. I never found anyone like this.
i can't wait 'till they get big. they deserve it. ♡
I can’t wait till they freakin tour
theyre touring with deftones now. they made it.
@@MichelleB022 boy do i have news for you
Fire track ! I dig the VHS quality too, it brings back memories.
It’s perfect. Plain and simple
It really fucking is.
Thank you, Fleshwater. You get me. My soul is recharged.
Her vocals really make it soar on the driving guitar melodies
I just fell in love with this song. The sound comes over you like a wave, it's so gritty and raw and open. Her voice is dreamy, just perfect.
this is some pure 90s grunge while tripping on acid vibes. just amazing n the video goes back in time . for real though this music back now we need grunge 2024
I remember fall of '94, when I came upon this music video by pure happenstance. Pete and Pete had just ended on Nickelodeon, so I flipped back to MTV briefly, and there it was, right after a trailer for Clerks. The hook wriggled its way into my brain for the rest of the day, until I finally decided to put on my flannel shirt and run to the record store (it's a dentist's office these days). I remember I was way more excited than I should have been, and accidentally knocked over a bag of leaves that I'd raked in the yard earlier in the day on my way to my mom's station wagon that she'd been letting me drive until I could afford my own car. The air had a crispness to it that I don't think I've felt in a long time, and I could smell it while standing on the moist pavement of the store parking lot. After I picked up the album, I wound up driving upstate for a solid two hours listening to the whole thing, with nowhere to be and no one to text.
Their songwriting is so unique
Tell me you didn't grow up during the 90s without telling me you didn't grow up in the 90s
@@chillikrabathor bahaha 😂👏🏽
What??? They sound great but this is Deftones meets Flyleaf and many other 90’s bands. They are a modern day Gen X band

WHY ARE THEY OBSESED WITH DUCKS?
from what i pick up, the album has a theme of childhood and adolescence
This song has been stuck in my head recently and I'm not even mad. Such a banger fr, along with the rest of this album.
When i was a teenager i wanted to play music like this when i grew up
It’s never too late!
Don't give up
This is great. I'm really digging that 90's sounds.
This is our youth sound. Never let it die 🤘🏽
they are like remaking alternative and i’m here for it
You can totally tell it was mixed by Kurt Ballou! I hear a lot of similarities between some of the guitar tones, the vocal mix, and the drums that reminds me of the work he did on Oathbreaker's album "Rheia". That album was a masterpiece!
I was so happy to see he mixed this
The Oathbreaker record was done by Jack Shirley
@@souvlaki4982 you are correct, I just looked it up. Apparently Kurt helped produce their previous release to the Rheia album which I think was "Maelstrom" or something like that.
It was "Eros Antos" l, damn I'm all over the place today 😂
Was going to play Kiss the Ladder when this unexpectedly showed up!! What a pleasant surprise! Can't wait for the album!!
the amount of times I listened to this is crazy 😭
Genuinely one of the bands that will have a chokehold on me forever, simply unforgettable.
The best new shoegaze I ever heard. This bands great.
Thanks for bringing the 90's vibes back

I got a feeling the Deathfmradio crew will have dropped two of the best albums this year.
whats deathfm? fleshwater and vein?
@@sufferdata666 thanks!
Incredible. Saves The Day, Deftones and Nirvana in one band. My literal dream. Thank you.
Deathfmradio forever, I just can't get enough of these guys' music. From Vein, to Living Weapon, to Fleshwater; consistently have made some of the best music ever written
I need fleshwater to be a full project tho
Watching this video in early August is reminding me that New England autumn is right around the corner 🍂 😊

Just came here to say that this band is going to be a big deal someday
Love the aesthetic of this video. Also, that bass sounds delicious.
I’ve listened to this whole album ALOT in just 1 year

Way more interesting than Vein at this point imo
as a really big vein fan. honestly i wouldnt mind if they focused on this project a lil more.

I thought forsure this was an obscure 90s hidden gem. But they are a new band? Phenomenal stuff, gives me hope for the future of music.
so cool from Closed Casket to release such a "poppy" record! one of the albums of the year, so catchy! cant stop listening to it!
This is late 80s sounding stuff. Really great band!
I will never forget this, sometimes certain records impact your core
Been listening to them non stop man
So glad I discovered this band, their debut album is nothing but bangers. I only wish it included the promo version of Whoohoo from the official trailer for the LP. That track sounded sick!
holy shit dude 😱 this is amazing
crunchy, grungy, radical af
Been waiting for this album for 2 years, super excited to hear the rest of it!!
This is amazing, I've been waiting for a sound like this. Reminds me of the late 90's to early 2000's alternative/nu metal. It's heavy, melodic, but soothing at the same time. I instantly thought of Deftones for a bit.
It's cool someone is doing this.
Really cool to hear newer bands like fleshwater and narrow head. Gives me hope!
wow
Reminds me of deftones in their early days. Love that this style is coming back
The bass tone in the bridge is everything!
LOL Damn thought this was some old 90s shit, shit is sick
