Totally agree, I worked in DCF in Florida and we regularly gave primary care of children to drug addicted mothers. We KNOW that the MAJORITY of drug addicted mothers will trick out their children for drugs, we even had drug addicted mothers BEG us to take primary custody from them. Nope. So in case after case I watched the state give primary custody to drug addicted mothers and those mothers trick out their children, get busted, child becomes a ward of the state, mother goes to prison. Sometimes the father would take custody, often the father recognized that the child was so damaged they couldn't even afford the years of trauma counseling that would be required and which isn't even that effective. What usually happens is at 13-18 the girl becomes a drug addicted single mother and...the cycle is self perpetuating, which is probably why they do it.

"I'm like one of five people who could steer this process to become something better" Rudyard, I'm a longtime fan and continue to watch almost every one of your videos when they drop. I enjoy listening to you flesh out grand historical/cultural/societal theories and narratives, and even when some of your arguments seem to be a bit of a stretch, you are clearly a very bright young mind with a vast historical knowledge base and a knack for thinking in a much larger frame of mind than most people. However, to be brutally honest, I fear you've come to increasingly overestimate your own significance and influence. I might would dismiss it as the natural arrogance that is part of being 20 years old, but as you've progressed through your early 20s, the general air of self-importance I can sometimes sense from you as a regular viewer has only gotten worse, outstripping the growth of the channel or your own actual influence. Your channel is getting some truly impressive numbers at this point, particularly for someone operating on your small scale, but the public intellectuals who are actually driving this ideological debate, formulating these types of theories, and shaping our collective thoughts are reaching orders-of-magnitude more eyeballs than you, and are doing so not (only) through video essays but through more formal and respected media (books/articles). More importantly, they are talking to and collaborating with each other, while you've been largely siloed off doing your own thing (though the podcast is a step in the right direction). While this may be sounding like one long chastisement, I think your career as a public intellectual has great potential, you just need to be humble and realize that you are still in the very early stages of it with a long way to go. I really don't know what the fuck I'm talking about, but my suggestion would be to start publishing some formal and more academically rigorous articles about your various ideas in whatever publication you can/choose (maybe hold off on the manifestos for a while), and start/continue reaching out to other public intellectuals that talk about similar topics, or even go to some relevant conferences to try to start networking and collaborating (this also has the benefit of rapidly growing your exposure). I think you are quite brilliant and have immense potential, but if you want to fulfill that potential, you'll need to keep the hubris in check and start taking more steps towards growing your actual influence and honing your intellectual dexterity against other sharp minds.
I agree. Putting yourself at the center of a struggle for civilizational survival looks like grandiose narcissism to me. This guy should should also give more credit to his sources than he does and limit the number of thesis statement-like sentences he includes. Feels like he is just just taking all the main points of books he has read and firing them out of a machine gun. Impossible to follow in my opinion.
Talking it out with the Podcast of the Lotus Eaters, going on Joe Rogan Podcast, Chris Williamson Podcast, and doing collabs with all sorts of peeps, including Edward Dutton AKA The Jolly Heretic will be CRITICAL for Rudyard and Whatifalthist to reach the next milestone in their development, as a person and as an internet personality. Collaborating, growing and learning more are a MUST.
Henry Three et all, you guys suck. You are preachy and condescending. He made an awesome video and here you are trying to $H|T on him. Many great people in history have believed in themselves a little too much. Who cares? Look at the product, not the person. Their overconfidence was often necessary for them to put themselves out there. What are you guys doing to save our culture? Leave him alone. And I want you guys to know too that I am "thumbs downing" all your comments. Next time maybe you will think twice...
The problem is getting academically rigorous articles published in appropriate publications: Rudyard would have to obtain a PhD in the field of discipline that he's working in, judging by the reactions I've seen of PhD degreed scholars in the academic community to any outsiders trying to contribute. The outsiders are dismissed as cranks, sometimes with good reasons and sometimes without reason.
1:29 This is what frustrates me the most with the Republican Party in the US. They have the potential to form a coalition to stop the insanity plaguing our society, yet do the bare minimum to maintain the status quo.
This!! The Republicans constantly snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. Instead of undoing the damage and restoring the Constitution and the principles that undergird it, they just slow down the damage being done. Completely inept, cowardly, and useless. I cannot stand the Republicans.
Its infuriating. If you vote Democrat, you basically accelerate the decline and eventual demographic replacement of white Americans, erosion of rights, LGBTQ class protection, and have to deal with a societal death cult for 4 years. If you vote Republican, you get neocons, Israel worshippers, spineless Ronald Reagan clones, and geriatric fudds who think we’re still in the 1960s. I’m tired of voting for republicans just for them to twiddle their thumbs and not get shit done while reminiscing about the good ole days. Since we're on the topic of privacy/decentralization I would like to use this opportunity to bring up a specific issue that I've never heard mentioned by a public figure. We need to pass laws which one might call "right to not own a smartphone". It's getting to the point that I cannot listen to music in my car, enter my child's school to watch a performance, make a doctor's appointment, set up a bank account, or order food at a restaurant, unless I have a smartphone with the ability to scan a QR code and/or a google account. Both government and private business are guilty of this. A person must be free to move about society and complete necessary, daily tasks without internet, phone, credit card, etc. I would love to see a prominent politician support this. Maybe if some more people like Rudyard speak about this issue, it will gain the attention it needs to actually become law. Rudyard always speaks on general, big-picture issues in our society, which is great, but we need a very specific list of things that can actually be implemented NOW or this will all go nowhere.
You have no right to decide how (or which) products are made, because that's Capitalism. That's the market. That's what the "private ownership over the means of production" means, and implies. Capitalists make those choices for you, and you simply decide to (or not to) buy those products. The end. The idea that we can find solutions for these kinds of problems WITHIN Capitalism, is just an illusion sold by delusional people. Don't fall for it.
@@Mcfunface Yes. I believe Rudyard has identified this as he says "something worth dying for" multiple times in the video I think. With the hope for freedom, truth, and the honor to pursue them for ourselves and others, we can suffer anything.

Trump, and the mainstream neocon "thinkers" that almost immediately went to the left side of the aisle after Trump (this comment isn't about Trump himself) were the first cracks that formed. But it didn't take long after that for the dam to break. I love my parents very much, but they are very much "Reagan Republican" conservatives. The right changed, and changed hard and fast. So fast that I believe traditional conservatives haven't realized it. And I'm not even young. I'm an early millennial, only a couple years shy of being part of gen x. That time period, however, gave me the perfect window to see the right's metamorphosis from the pre-9/11, Lewinsky scandal era all the way to the present. This is like nothing I've ever experienced. It's exciting and terrifying. The new right is aggressive, unabashed, and unimpressed with the power structures the old right either tried to fit into or rise above. The old right struggled with how to get a foothold into the culture (Hollywood, music, etc.). The new right rejected all of it and made memes. So much has been lost, but there is real energy in this movement.
Memes are so powerful. Cutting truth with so few words. Instantly grasped. If only they could be pushed as much as ads are, it might wake the sleepers.

The issue is after the fight. Having lost a lot for the cause it would be very difficult for every group that United to walk away without trying to instill their own order. After fights for freedom an age of many split warlords that were once allied is an extremely common outcome.
After re-reading C.S. Lewis's Abolition of Man recently, a lot of his points are echoed in your manifesto. He linked universal truths under the banner of the Chinese term the "dao". The process of the last 100 years of education was the destruction of value systems across the west, ensuring that we become morally malleable to our conditioners. Thanks for putting a cap-stone on these value principles that all societies have, even if they don't specificially agree on how they got there. These principles of value bring us to a place where we are able to fight against entropy and the forces within our nature that bring chaos. We will soon return to an era where men will need chests again, and will need a new seat of morality in his being to moderate his intellect and rule over his lower appetites.
The two highest achievements of the human mind are the twin concepts of "loyalty" and "duty". Whenever these twin concepts fall into disrepute, get out of there fast! You may possibly save yourself, but it is too late to save that society. It is doomed. Robert A. Heinlein
The fastest way for the concepts of loyalty and duty to fall into disrepute is for people in higher positions to regard them as one-way streets and things owed them from those in lower positions and not also the other way around. It's why Christianity and capitalism are in such disrepute and why the US government is hated.
I am aversive to "loyalty" and "duty" with siblings, parents, extended family, friends, best friends, friend groups etc. Do you remain loyal and dutiful to people who commit harm or stray from the truth? Are we expected to remain loyal and dutiful to family and friends who defile others? To help them cover up and be loyal by defending their badness?
This manifesto gets honor right. It's so necessary that men have honor, something beyond meekness and victimhood. Harmlessness isn't virtue, wise strength is.
Yeah, the problem is that he then tries to combine honor with other values like Christianity that actively promote weakness ("The meek shall inherent the earth"). He also tries to combine honor with values like individualism and capitalism that encourages people to put themselves first and sell out to the highest bidder. I think one of the greatest things about the New World Order we’ve lived in since WW2 is the sheer incompetence that is so universal in the ruling classes of almost every nation which otherwise would have been naturally selected had it not been for the “Rules based” international community. Hundreds of years from now it will be reported that Somalia hasn’t existed in decades at the time I’m writing this, and yet the international community universally agrees it exists. A similar phenomenon I think can be observed about the New Right and New Left in that they’re so intensely incompetent at achieving anything because the vested interests that get them into power simply desire to use their position to extract what wealth and power they can short term, then justify it by maintaining a declining status quo. Writing this as a junior in highschool I fear that this world order of peace in of itself will have it’s bureaucracy and society cave in to a similar state as in the era following WW1, with clearly defined stable powers and a world constantly changing and fighting until some of the most depraved groups have taken all the resources they can to prepare for a REAL war. Very few times has that happened since WW2 in cases like Artsakh, Tibet, or Chechnya and in all cases it’s been in unstable regions, where unrecognized states are destroyed. In cases where it’s been attempted without the 2 qualifiers I set like Russia to Ukraine or Iraq to Kuwait it’s backfired completely and seen universal condemnation. This era has everything those eras have besides rapid population growth, but even then with the instability and pressures that are unique to this era caused by an aging population the effect will likely be the same. The areas with large population growth are already soaked in a bloodbath as we speak. As stated previously, if you stopped averting your eyes to the modern history that you can watch live, you’d see just how deadly and grueling modern conventional & Guerilla warfare is, and now that we’re approaching social upheaval it is only going to spread from here. The only question left effectively is if this will be an era of international conflict, domestic conflict, or both.
The point about humanity constantly struggling against both powerlessness and responsibility is so true! What most people don't realize is that with power comes the responsibility to use it justly and wisely. At the same time, you can't be responsible if you can't take control or have power over your circumstances and yourself. These two opposite desires need each other to exist and pushing for one without the other is suicidal.
people on the left need to learn this. they want to create power without the responsibility that comes with it. this goes against the fundamental laws of the universe and will ALWAYS fail.
Gotta respect bros grind. Just hope Rudyard doesnt burn out from the volume of work hes doin. Edit just finished: really liked it, would like to see it expanded on.
I’m not saying he will succeed in anything, but I doubt that you change the world without that mindset, and everyone who has done great things started in insignificance. Every time I hear about someone’s success story there are hundreds at the beginning of their tale telling them they are arrogant or foolhardy. Once again, bro might end up doing nothing, but I don’t mind the mindset.

the disgusting chaos of our time is an evil that we simply have not learned to handle correctly, but this chaos contains the links of a new future birth, a future great order. And this future is for those who work for it, who give it, albeit a small, but still part of their present. We live in a system, which in the most general case is our Universe, and in the particular case our planet. The laws of this system are the only correct laws. And no mistakes when interacting with it go unpunished; for convenience, you can assume that this system is much smarter than we can imagine. But don’t even try to deify her, it’s completely pointless. It seems to us that we treat her as we please, she doesn’t even seem to react or reacts slowly, but only to take revenge instantly and mercilessly. A lot of people. It's good if not everyone. We often used special terms: “catastrophe”, “bifurcation”, “entropy”, “redundancy”, but remember that when translated into the “human dimension” they often hide such things as war, dirt, blood, hunger, death. We talked about stable formations - fractals and attractors, but the path to them also lies through disasters. And in order to get everything we need without conflicting with system laws, we need to know these laws, and know them as completely as possible.

Thank you. Atheistic nihilism (and misandry) are the plagues of our time, and Its refreshing to see someone put in continued effort to change that and give us hope that we patriots and protectors are not alone.
You are describing the era following the ascendency of the “moral majority” vis a vis Reagan and hundreds of grifting fake Christian grifting “pastors” et al. Correct? Yeah, this is what they were hoping for. Apparently…
The plague was the inevitable result, not the root of the problem. Atheism is a healthy reaction when you realize you've been lied to your whole life. But that realization can create a spiritual vacuum, which can lead to nihilism, unless you're able to fill that void. Nihilism and misandry are merely symptoms, not the cause of the troubles. They are the result of the underlying problems in our society. And like Nietzsche said, because it cannot be avoided, we must go through it and overcome it, to reach enlightenment and create a new meaningful existence for ourselves.
I agree we must go through it. But so many religious people feel threatened by other people’s freedom they want to squash it before you get the chance.
He is right that the new right has had a problem with establishing a leader though. Trump was divisive with many young people and proved himself to be more like an old school conservative type, not what the movement truly needed which is a fairly young individual who understands all the problems that the young crowd is facing and is willing to sacrifice their time and life potentially to see these issues addressed. I wouldn't be surprised if there was only a few likely candidates right now for the face of the new right. I can't even think of any notable candidates beyond like 3 people myself.
So what you’re advocating for is a societal system in which the individuals are motivated by some sort of character and action based system by which individuals are rated based on how virtuous or collective-serving their actions are. This system also aims to “raise the consciousness” of its people by encouraging them to look past their own world and see how they can improve the collective society and the outward world around them. In this system however the “tribe” goes from the small scale community scale to the societal level. Almost sounds like you’re describing something, but I can’t quite tell what
Btw, not knocking this video or your take which I think is valid in some ways, just saying you should look in the mirror before saying “left vs. right” you’re playing into the hands of the very tyrants you claim to stand against by denying the fundamental humanity of people on the other side. I’m not saying that you won’t listen or anything, but by generalizing all people on any side of any spectrum you’re inherently playing into the problematic aspect of tribalism that causes the very problems you complain of. We should aim for tribalism on a global scale, one tribe, humanity. Most people on the political left only really disagree on one or two core issues from their counterparts on the right, until we acknowledge that we have more in common with them than we do with the ultra-rich elites who CHOOSE not to use their wealth to prevent harm that is within their capability to prevent (The US government funding foreign wars and coups and revolutions for decades and then pretend they can’t do anything about it when they’re complained to) there is a fundamental difference between the people who are born into a system and the people born into a family that controls the system, the nepotism and closed-door deals that have run the world for the last few centuries is right out there in the open and you clearly see it and are opposed to it, so don’t take a half-hearted poke at it so as not to upset the ultra-conservative capitalists who cannot even comprehend the idea of a different economic system, jump into the deep end and call out the problem at its source.
"By which individuals are rated based on how virtuous or collective-serving their actions are." This specific assumption you make shows you are a product of our society. Rating people on their virtue is something society does now to it's detriment. This judgement is not something honorable. Honor allows one to judge himself for his own motivations and virtue, while responding not to how people signal, but how they really act. A society of free people who are honor bound to preserve truth is not one where virtue is at once more common and less valued. People might work for good, not to be viewed as a good doer by others, but by themselves.
Decentralization is part of the solution. The federal government is so large that it violates the first amendment’s tenant of the right to petition your government. For example: in aviation pilots can interface with the government through the FSDO office which is usually located in the states capital. If a pilot has a question about an FAA regulation they can call their local FSDO office and ask them to see if what they want to do is legal. If they greenlight it and the pilot does what they recommend the pilot can still be found in violation of regulation by an FAA inspector at the airport and be forced to pay thousands of dollars or lose their license even though it was cleared with the FSDO office. This example was meant to highlight the inefficiencies of the federal government and the need for our society to decentralize authority in a way that makes logical sense. Decentralized authority allows people to interface with their government and know that the information they are receiving is accurate and truthful. Meanwhile, the current iteration of the agency model of governance ensures that nobody can figure out what is lawful because there are too many rules on the books for any one person to reasonably know.

Another big one is how he overextends metaphors way past their purpose; every metaphor or analogy breaks down at a certain point, for example in this video he talks about planets and cells as if they're equally part of greater systems when they really aren't. The biggest one is his misunderstanding of evolution (I hope this isn't him just lying to push narratives) where he clearly presents it as if it is some guiding process or how he takes extremely subjective human subjects as if they are objectively good or bad.

Rudyard, I'm a longtime fan and continue to watch almost every one of your videos when they drop.

It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word." - Operation: Knightfall "Knightfall" - Star Wars Battlefront II (2005)

Warrior in the garden as the saying goes.
Yeah, the problem is that he then tries to combine honor with other values like Christianity that actively promote weakness ("The meek shall inherent the earth").
The bloodiest era in human history seems to have yet to happen, and is seeming more and more likely to be the defining factor of my adult life. To be living in history is a privilege and a curse.
The privilege of living through relevant history is that we have a chance to write it, while the curse is that we have to unfortunately live through it and all its hardships.
We appear to be "snap-adjusting", give it a century or two
What is the "New World Order we’ve lived in since WW2"? The two world powers USA and Soviet Russia? Oh, wait, Soviet Russia dissolved. USA and China? Except that China wasn't a world power until the 90s. *The bloodiest era in human history seems to have yet to happen, and is seeming more and more likely to be the defining factor of my adult life.* What makes you think that? You know that as time goes on mankind becomes more and more peaceful. Your defining factor of your adult life will be the mundane life of all adults. Work, free time, children. PS: I recommend you to look up the bloody era of human history, because we didn't needed atomic bombs to slaughter our self. Look up the 30 years war in Europe, literally named the Thirty Years' War. It was a war that lastet 30 years, 5 months and 1 day, 4,500,000 to 8,000,000 dead, and that when the population of Paris was about 500,000 people
yeah you have no idea what you're talking about. give it a few more years until your brain is finished developing.
@@holz_name I like seeing the “end of history” mindset that’s been slowly dying since the late 2010’s is still held by some people.
In every other era of human history conquest was not an impossibility, it was even a norm. An army going into a nation and simply declaring it no longer exists in any governmental capacity isn’t even thinkable in this era.
It’s like you’ve shut your ability to process history off the moment you got to recent memory. You have the nerve to tell me my life will be mundane without knowing a single thing about me beyond a TH-cam comment after spewing an outdated public school-esc perspective. You don’t know my interests or my goals. You are as willfully ignorant as you are arrogant. You are dancing to the music in your own head and call others tasteless for not joining you.
The bloodiest eras in human history have been the first half of the 19th century and prior to that were eras of large cultural and institutional collapse like the 16th century in the Americas and Ming-Qing transition. As bloody as the 30 years war was, and I do comprehend just how important Germany’s depopulation was, it does not hold a candle to what I’m referring to.
"We stand for honor, freedom, and truth"v- bombs Yemen
The point about humanity constantly struggling against both powerlessness and responsibility is so true! What most people don't realize is that with power comes the responsibility to use it justly and wisely. At the same time, you can't be responsible if you can't take control or have power over your circumstances and yourself. These two opposite desires need each other to exist and pushing for one without the other is suicidal.
What people also miss, power comes from responsibility, the hardships that comes with being virtuous makes one powerful as well.

Apparently…
As an optimistic atheist, based.
I want to be a believer sometimes, but I just can’t. Religion is now just another vessel for far left propaganda

@@tylerm3422 From this comment alone I can tell you’re wiser than 98% of his audience. Kudos to you lad.
"By which individuals are rated based on how virtuous or collective-serving their actions are."
This specific assumption you make shows you are a product of our society.

@@bigtechnazis3554 He often tries to portray concepts he doesn't understand (or purposely misrepresents) as if they were a fact. One good example in this video is how he acts like the universe is ruled by laws when Laws aren't prescriptive, they're descriptive, they're simple the best explanation we have for a certain phenomenon and only apply as far as we know of.
