In 2024 I’m going back to the “what would I be using if I didn’t see all the planner community planners?” basics. If I didn’t know about the planner community, I’d be in a Leuchterm a page (or as many as I need) a day. So that’s what I’m going to do next year. Keeping it simple.

Same here. I’m going back to a page a day Moleskine for 2024. Recently, I had to look up some information from a few years back when I had a daily Moleskine, and I was surprised at how easy it was to find and how well organised the pages were.

I relate with info in different planners. My goal for 2024 is to stay in the same planner all year. I decided if I want to hop around, it will be in a journal. Not my planner.

Sam, this is me! I have now been keeping 2 planners- Hobonichi to archive in the end, rings to get messy and be truly productive! I love to write so it’s super easy for me to keep the 2! I have been with Hobonichi since 2017 and I just cannot give it up….nor do I want to. I love the covers, the books, the brand….and the stacks of memories that live in drawers, documenting our daily lives. You can have it all! JOY!

I found myself bouncing around too. I stopped using my planner for a while. I found that my moterm rings from last year works for me as an all in one. I use notebooks to collect lists and pre plan. I love spiral notebooks as my go to for lists and thoughts.

Wow-you articulated this planner struggle so well! I am in the same boat and have lost oodles of important information in the process of planner hopping! And it really does cause anxiety and a little bit of a complex, like, why can I not settle down and settle in a single planner?! I have serious planner envy from those that can! Thank you for beating your soul with this video…I think maybe this could help me all the right questions of myself and sort through some of these issues…we shall see! Lol

I always get tempted by rings but by the time I go through buying inserts, printing them and then having to find time with young kids to cut and punch them I am already burnt out and don't want to touch the fully setup binder. So I have been forcing myself to go back to TNs because I am more consistent and can still compartmentalize but without as much setup or fuss which is what I am realizing works for ME. However, I would be lying if I said this video isn't making me want to get my VDS out to play with it lol.

I used a TN years ago, but love that with rings you can have so many different pages/trackers/sections independent of each other.

I can relate to the planner struggle... I am now for the first time happy in rings for my homeschool planner. I can finally add in everything I want effortlessly, take out what no longer serves me or what I don't use and change up things as we go. I just wish there were more cover choices for personal wide... I love personal but the paper is a bit too slim. Loving your planner!!! and yes to opening a shop!!!

    • @samplans

Personal can be a bit slim, depending on what layout you are using. I like the dimensions in the hand though, so I want to stick with it. Thank you. 🧡

I ❤ the black cover and the Halloween-themed dashboards. That is so cool!! I've been watching your videos for quite a while, and your "recurring tasks" list inspired me to make a chart to help me keep up with monthly bills. I have them listed in a notebook in order by the date that they're due & columns for the different months. So whenever a certain bills is paid, I put a checkmark in the box for that month. Doing that has helped me a lot.

I love looking at other planners but am learning to say no to certain styles that would never work for me in order to cut down on the too many options thing. Knowing what I need in a planner helps too.

I so relate! :) My first hobo weeks is on the crazy train as I keep trying to “figure it out.” my plum paper is more practical/functional (about 3 1/2 years of consistent use). When I fill out my week in my PP: I feel more relaxed and together. It works.
Oh dang! That dashboard. Where are my rings stashed?! Lol! 😂

Your set up is super interesting. I really like the flexibility of it! I can truly see the function of it. My planner peace for the second half of 2023 has been the Hobonichi Cousin Avec. I do have a question, though... what do you do with your inserts when you're done? Do you keep them? Toss them? Thank you for sharing :)

P.S. I made a new planner for myself-seeing the new plotter-i put the rings into my passport TN , and got my own plotter for cheap 😂😂😂😂 . Looks exactly as the plotter ! The pages are sticking a little bit, but I don't care!

@@samplans it's Japanese! All Japanese planners are expensive! But we can make our own ring planners, just putting the rings into whatever cover we have already! P.S. I'm attracted to the small rings because I don't want to carry too heavy rings around

Isn’t it fun creating planner goodies. I like your dashboard. I made some free sticky notes for Halloween on my channel you are welcome to use them if you like them. Congrats on the new job. Don’t be afraid of opening up a shop. I toyed with the idea, but I’m not healthy enough physically for the demands. I’ve seen your planner struggles through this year and I too was right there with you until I grabbed a blank stalogy and allowed myself to create. I love it so much. I’m in a5 now but will use a6 next year for portability 😊

I love your victories! Having so many, many choices is a love/hate thing for sure. I struggle a lot as well, especially when the new is coming and all the new planners come out. I love that BOO dashboard you made! I want one for a pocket TN! I think you should totally start your own little shop! It won't be little for long though. You have a huge following. You pay attention to detail, so that won't be a problem. lol I would love to purchase items from you, as I am sure many others would as well. Don't hesitate because you might fail. If you fail, then at least you tried, and it didn't work out. That is actually a victory because you tried your best, and maybe it just wasn't meant to be or whatever. I remember when you started out your TH-cam channel you were kinda shy and more quiet, and I don't think you filmed your face back then. But look at you now! You took that risk! So, I say go for it and see what happens! Why are you leaving this job? What job are you going into? I really do want to know. I have stayed up to date as you have changed jobs, and careers, etc. I would really love an update on what you are doing! Have a great week coming up. Maybe you and your friend at work can stay in touch.

I’ve never used a ring planner before- I hope this question isn’t obvious. Do you keep the pages somewhere after you refresh the new month? Is there a storage binder that could hold the whole year?

    • @4cornersgalsst415
      @4cornersgalsst415 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I keep my old pages in an old binder that I don't use anymore. Filofax sells storage binders, but they're pricey for a what they are.

Could it be because once you explain in a video the reasons why one planner works for you, than then makes you think of points to counter the reasons you just mentioned in the video? I’m like that sometimes. I’m my own devil’s advocate, and I overthink it. It can be exhausting.
