Probably the best photography video I've ever watched (I had to watch it three times!). Those jumps from zen-like contemplation, to panic at changing light, to annoyances at not having the right lens, and back to zen-like appreciation of the world.... it had me laughing non stop because EVERY passionate photographer knows that EXACT roller-coaster ride of mind-state. Plus the photos were fantastic! Definitely got my subscription, thanks mate!
I enjoyed that - got the same thing going right now looking out from Skye to the Scottish mainland at the early morning mist on the hills ever changing and backlit. Fuji GFX set to 16:9 composition, Eterna Bleach Bypass film simulation and zoom at 170mm. Sheer bliss. I love the way a man, up in the hills on his own, who looks like he maybe cracks heads for a living, can get so excited about some electricity towers in the mist or the silhouettes made by some strands of scrubby grass. Talking excitedly and jabbering away, trying to stay in control of normally unexcitable emotions - oh wait, that’s me too. Keep it up Ben, keep it up

Great video. You really captured the excitement that we all feel when we go out on a shoot and find something amazing and unexpected. Frantically shooting in every direction trying to capture a moment before it’s gone forever. Also the reality of never having the right gear with you and being forced to make the best of what we have. It’s an obsession alright, a passion and as you said, a gift.

Can’t believe you didn’t pull out the q2. You’ve never seen it like that before. That 28mm would have been epic. It was beautiful. But you’re right, make it with what you have. I went shooting the other day and was upset I didn’t have my 16mm. But made due and still walked away with some nice shots.
