If I remember rightly sainz was furious that they gave the orders and agreed with McRae that they should race. He didnt want to win like that. They were friends and were teammates again for other manufacturers several times after this

@@Travis-guy-247 Loeb could be easily disproved by many because he apparently had "weak" oposition until you realise that in his rookie year he was teammates with both Sainz and Mcrae and beat them comprehensively. The reason he dominated is because out of generation he was competing in he was simply that much clear of everyone else. The only standout drivers that could match him on number of occasions during his peak were Gronholm, Solberg and Hirvonen but thats pretty much it...
