I enjoy the PMDG 777 greatly in 2020 but won’t buy virtually the same experience twice with the price they want. Obviously there are changes required for the 777F but not justify the cost to me as existing owner of 777 already. PMDG choice to charge full prices for virtually the same plane and ignore ppl who already purchased the original product that was the vast majority of the work PMDG needed to do means I won’t buy any derivative of PMDG aircraft again. Thx for video
PMDG has just sold them separately. The 300ER price and the 7777F price combined come to a total of $132.32. When I bought the PMDG 777-200LR/F Base Package for Prepar3D, which included the freighters, I paid $134.99. I also purchased a PMDG 777-300ER Expansion Package for Prepar3D that was another $29.99. I purchased Queen of the Skies 747 and the 737's with expansion packs for FSX and P3D, which have now become obsolete for me. I am quitting lining their pockets too. It looks like another opportunity for PMDG to milk the cash cow. Well, not with my money. I am not purchasing anything from PMDG at this stage of the Microsoft Flight Simulation drama. We are open to getting stung for more cash by PMDG.
simmers really don't understand business. There is no obligation to buy anything This is not 1995 anymore. And "milking the cash cow" makes no sense. Only when you deliver sub-par addons, you can use this analogy. they deliver top tier aircraft and like other things in life, you need to BUY WHAT YOU WANT. Not buy once, then receive the others for free or at low cost If they did what you expect, then they would be out of business, and we would not have any of these great aircraft.
@@pieterduplessis6906I just hope they will have a reasonable upgrade price for the 300ER in FS2024, Fenix showed us it’s possible to do it for €00.00, I would like to believe PMDG is a bigger team than Fenix? They can surely, and rather swiftly get the 737-800 and 77W out for 2024 at basically no cost? If they are such a big name in the Flight Sim industry.
@@pieterduplessis6906 How to milk the cash cow is quite simple in this situation of MSFS 2020 and 2024 and PMDG are still not very clear about what they are going to do with pricing or if there will even be a charge to customers depending on work load. I am just pointing out how it looks and how money can be made in this tricky situation and whether it is actually justified or not as a developer and as a customer. They released the 737 for MSFS in May 2020, two years into the development of 2020, which is understandable as it is a completely new game, but everybody also knew around that time that 2024 would be in 2024, ironically. Customers would have a couple of years of use for their purchase and enjoy the product. Yet the 777 was released very late to the party in June and Dec of 2024, towards the end of the era of MSFS 2020, when a majority of the customers will be considering and are likely to make the move to 2024, which in reality isn't a completely new game. It is still the same game but with major updates making some significant changes, but they call it a new version 2024, so third party developers could use this to their advantage to recharge customers. I agree with some of what you said as it is common sense. But 2020 and 2024 are NOT completely different games where third parties, to a degree, don't have to start from scratch. PMDG are saying on their forum that tools have not been made available to them from Asobo, so they are late to the party, which is not the customers' fault. Now, if you are buying totally different games, as an example, like Xplane and Prepar which are totally different platforms, then of course, you buy their work and enjoy it, but I don't think it is justified in this current situation for customers this late in the development of the PMDG 777. It would be foolish of customers to pay them $55 or whatever it is when I am still in the process of making the decision to upgrade to 2024. The last thing I want to be is double-dipped by a company in this situation that would be very naïve. Also, not all customers can afford to buy products to use just for a few weeks. People generally want value for money before they are willing to part with more of their hard-earned cash. Not everybody has money to burn. The number of customers where *money is no object* is very small in any industry.
complaining firstly about the sounds shows you what a stellar job they have done with the actual aircraft. Flying in the real word with a Boeing 777 requires much more handling that with PMDG Boeing 777 in MSFS. And the fysics and dynamics of flying in the real world are fairly different. But in the world of flight simulation PMDG offers outstanding aircraft. In fact more simulation than a game but with remarks.
To be honest, I had hoped that the windshield wipers would be working really well by now, but it doesn't seem to be the case! But luckily the textures were brought up just in time during landing- very good!
if airline wipers are the first and only thing you list as a hold off to purchasing it, then your will probably never buy anything. Mainly, as you are completely uniformed (as most simmers seem to be these days) that wipers are a platform dependent feature. And PMDG does NOT custom code anything because then they will have to keep updating this during every platform update If we want to sim like real pilots, we have to be informed about things like real pilots But keep on waiting for things to be perfect.................. You will miss out on many great things in life. I have bought this, and it is the best cargo plane in FS so far. And even with the wipers not working, the airflow over the windshield makes seeing very good and enough for a landing. And what the hec, REAL LIFE PILOTS also finds things not working correctly sometimes. But sim pilots seem to be conditioned to think things work perfect all the time. I’ll just not comment that I barely use wipers at all even in the real world as long as visibility isn’t impacted (which the sim engine is not capable of - under any rain conditions the sim can depict I’d leave them off as they are just awfully loud and utterly useless) 😅
$54 is a slap in the face to anyone who paid $77 for the 77W. Two variants of the same family of aircraft for $130. They've lost their marbles with their pricing.
