Something to touch on when on the attack, and I learned in the competitive arena. When dribbling towards the defender don't run down line before getting to him. Stay in line with him and make him feel uncertain. Then make a touch to the line if that is the route you chose. Or inside if that is the route. Most wingers have pace. If you stick to this golden rule you will advance past the defender everytime, leaving them unbalanced and behind as you out pace them.
Critter Gitter I tried this in training session with one of the ex player from my club who in a academy and usually I can't get past him but this helped me to make him nervous when I got the ball thanks for the great advice
I'm in my first season ever playing on a team (I joined an adult league) and I got put as Right Winger today. It's 8 vs 8 (9 vs 9 if you count goalies), and I felt like I had to do a lot (help defense and be responsible for attacking). I wasn't conditioned enough and got cramps in the 2nd half.
You are right. My position is the attacking midfield position, but sometimes I play left or right midfield. The problem I am having with my teammates is that they usually want me to stay on the side; it's like they are trying to restrict me. Sometimes you do have to come inside to get the ball; that way the attacking midfielder can take your place as a winger. You cannot just stay on the side every time. Otherwise you will be very predictable.
These videos really helps me, cause I memorize the board and the moves that you are explaining, and I often visualize them in the game, it's pretty awesome, thanks!
9:30 really helped. i always feel like im never getting the ball and i always feel liked im tied down to one position and i HAVE to play ont he left the whole game or the coach gets mad.
The main job of a striker is to score goals but in football ryt now or even before WINGERS are the one who have the most goals and awards. SO I THINK WINGER IS A BETTER POSITION TO PLAY THAN A STRIKER
Hahahahahahahaha " I don't wanna defend, i'm a winger" Hahahaha You've gotta defend as well, explained perfectly in this vid. Great video, really helpful. Lol the phone call! Hahahaha That was hilarious
JWalker Unless you’re a wing-back. I love being a wing-back. Defensively, I’m a full back. Offensively, I’m a winger. To make overloading runs, receive the ball and cross the ball to the penalty box IF my teammate is attacking the area. Or to hold the ball and let my midfielder make an under-loading run so I can pass it to that area. I always do this every practice. You know what they say: “Master one skill a 1,000 times than have 1,000 skills and only use once”
+Azmann Hasan May I help you? Actually it´s so easy. You want to kick the ball as low as low as possible opposite to the direction the GK is moving. If you´re really, really close to the GK.. like right in front of him, then you may have to nutmeg him, if he´s standing straddle-legged.
I was playing CF when i am playing in my soccer clinic but i wanna be a RW cause there are not many Left footed CF so since Messi,Bale, and James Rodriguez are RW and left footed so i will choose RW But then how will i improve speed and my shot power very quickly and i am used to doing 4-3-3 false 9 formation so how will i improve easily I watched your vids on how to get quicker at running and i am practicing now but i still dont understand how to get my shots or cross Stronger, higher and better aim pls reply
+Galactic Mapping its kindoff because when u get closer to the goal you can have your strong foot ready to pass or shoot or u can turn your pace and make a cross with ur strong foot either
For realism, shouldn't there be 11 a side? You're talking about wing play on a side where there's no Right Back. This is 9 vs 9 on your board (8 vs 8 in the field) so the demonstrations fall flat, but your explanations are sound.
Okay guys so i need help. Im normally a attacking midfielder but the new team that i have gone to wants me to play as a winger because of my crossing and shooting but i dont hace the pace that a winger needs so what should i do
I feel a bit insecure aswell sometimes i dont know what to do Should i try my best to get better at winger or talk to my manager about changing my position back to attacking midfielder
Alireza Raghebi Try to improve your speed with exercises. I believe Nike Football Academy created a video for that. Many other videos on TH-cam show you how to increase speed and stamina also. If you just don't have the time, ask your coach is you can play attacking midfielder.
I recently switched to winger from striker because of pace, I've learned that pace alone won't entirely be effective. Some other things I've worked on and recommend you work on are good passing and beating defenders, you don't have to be fast to make a good move or play a good through ball, hope this helped.

what do you mean by line? what does staying in line mean?
@@khaipinaulak485 you run towards the defender is what he means
@@khaipinaulak485 drive directly at the defender

Kang no. if you stay wide you can recieve the ball. if you get close you are just bringing more marks and cutting space to recieve alone
This channel is brilliant
Thank you so much for making this video, I'm always playing midfield and didn't know where to position myself

please i have a weak left foot which wing will be best for mr to play in and how can i cover up for my lack of a strong left foot?
+Galactic Mapping its the opposite play right if ur leftie like messi and bale and play left if ur a rightie like neymar and ronaldo
+Galactic Mapping its kindoff because when u get closer to the goal you can have your strong foot ready to pass or shoot or u can turn your pace and make a cross with ur strong foot either
u have to put french subtitules
Is a winger an outside mid or a right/left forward?
Andrew Kim both
Andrew Kim depends on the formation
