It was fun to be driven up the coast. I live in Santa Barbara and have been up and down the PCH many times going to Santa Monica, but since I'm usually driving I miss seeing a lot. It's been many, many months since I've been. It hasn't changed! Made me happy. Be good.

When spending vacations in Sta. Monica, I always take that road to Camarillo Outlets instead of the 405 and the 101.
I love right over the mountains from malibu, whenever I go to the beach, I cant imagine how its a very well known town throughout the world, seems like a nice relaxing beach town to me..
Last time we went to Disneyland in February on our drive back home. For the first time ever we decided to drive through the 1 and 101 instead of the 5. It was so awesome. Such a Beautiful drive back home.

We have taken that drive a couple times when we’ve visited from Chicago. Thanks for pointing out the Point Break beach (one of my favorite movies). Now we have to go back and explore next time we visit.

Dolphins are endlessly entertaining. One time I was on the Catalina Express, heading to the Island, and we seemed to sail right into the middle of a pod of dolphins (I think they might have been feeding, but I'm not sure). They were so close to the boat, and some of them were jumping and diving. The captain slowed the boat down so we could watch those magical creatures romping and playing around us. All the passengers erupted into thunderous applause, as though the the dolphins were putting on a show just for them! Meanwhile, the dolphins were probably just trying to eat and couldn't care less that we were there, but we all were mesmerized by them.

I grew up here. My Dad rented a beach house just south of the Pier and then my sister lived just north of El Pescador State Beach and later at Paradise Cove. I so miss the Malibu of my youth. It still looks beautiful but back when I was a kid, normal people could afford to live there. A pre movie star Harrison Ford used to hang out with us while working on Joan Didion's place just up the road. Thanks for sharing this. Brought back memories and some tears. I was a lucky little boy to have the Pacific Ocean as my backyard for a time.

Seeing the Malibu scenic route reminded me of when I was able to make that drive in 2018. I'm hopeful to see so much more on my next CA🌴🌵trip,- of course after we beat this Coronavirus . Please continue to show us more of CA,- particularly these beautiful sceneries, beaches, piers & all the great eateries... Ahhh those whales was SOOO NICE😍 to watch🙌 took me away for sure. Thank you for capturing it all. Making these Covid-19 pandemic crisis days & other problems in mind fade away for a while. Nature is beautiful indeed. Hope to see more road trip adventures. I'm from Santa Cruz but have lived in Montana for the last 14 years and I love going home to the ocean as often as I can. Loved the beach drive and the dolphins. Lunch looked delish, just amazing. Jack Irons (drummer Chile Peppers) had a house up by split rock on Decker Canyon Rd at one time. Beautiful view.

whale watching once last fall, and once in February, in a small raft with only two other people.
We saw so many dolphins and 7 whales, (which I was told is a lot)
