A Screw Press Demonstration, Making Hobo Nickels, Fun Interviews, and More at the Coin Show

- When you go to a coin show of this magnitude, you never know what you might find. I had no idea I'd meet a guy who would show me how to carve hobo nickels, use a screw press, and mint coins before my very eyes. In addition to all that, I ran into some old friends and had some interesting conversations. Enjoy this "man on the street" style visit to the Central States Coin Show in Schaumburg, Illinois.

The hobo nickel part was great!!!!
Thanks!!
It’s sucks to wake up on a Saturday to know there are no coins shows within 500 miles, but thank goodness for T showing us his travels! Thanks Bro!
Glad to share the experience!
Those coin presses were super cool to see!
Thanks! I can only imagine what the ones at the Casa De Moneda De Mexico were like!
@@TtheSilverStacker Unfortunately it appears that all the screw presses used at the mexican mints were destroyed. I REALLY wish they had preserved at least one.
So many cool things! Really like the press!
Same. I had never seen one in action.
Looks like a great place to meet a lot of friends. Nice pickups T. 👍
Yes it was!
Super cool video T! Thanks for sharing the trip. The coin press and Hobo nickel demo were awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the hobo carver part
Same!
Fun
Thanks
Thanks for another great video! I missed the coin show in oaks, Pa last weekend because my daughter was graduating college. I’m 50 years old and I can’t wait to see my first coin show. 👍🏻
Oh man, it’s always a good time!
Lost my inside man at these coin shows.
R.I.P. Kevin Hunt.
Yep. Keep an eye out for my last video with Kevin.
Cool visit, thanks!
Thank you too!
Great show, very similar organized to bigger coin shows over here in Europe. Things have changed a little bit during the past twenty years, because more and more resellers offer their items on platforms like ma- coins or similar places in the internet. On the other hand, we actually got more bullion dealers at coin shows. Greets from GER, U.
Hello from Indiana. Always appreciate you watching!
Wow, that toner looks like a victim of the solar flare that occurred last night. Aurora Borealis on that dollar! That rocker press was cool to see in action
The toner coin looks like the victim of sun toning. The coin looks nice though.
Ha ha, good point. I can’t believe I missed that!
Like number 200! This was fun to watch! The Hobo nickel carver was neat to watch and listen. Several familiar faces in this video! You ended up with some MS slabbage, nice T!
Glad you enjoyed it! I really enjoyed meeting Joe. Very talented dude!
🤙🏻
Ty
I came across your channel from one of the cards you left at this show
Oh wow! I should have left more! Ha ha! Thanks for finding me!
T!!
: )
That was a fun and interesting video. I love that toner!
Did you happen to meet Ben the coin geek?
Yes. Chatted with him a bit.
@@TtheSilverStacker That's good to hear. He's turned into one of my favorite channels over the last few months. I should have went to that coin show but I just hate driving in Chicago so much I just couldn't make myself go. Any other city in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan is fine. Just not Chicago. I drive for a living and have traveled through that city far too much and often at rush hour.
