You have to rotate the tire while you’re breaking the bead ,I worked in a gas station when I was a kid before Vietnam.

I can hear my old boss now watching this shaking his head and murmuring, "if it works can it still be said to be wrong?"
All those old pieces to the changer need are some fine sand paper, and 3 in 1 penetrating oil, and to be used. A little penetrating oil will smooth that wheel right out and quick.

Yeah, Ill get to it eventually. I tried the hook tool for removal and it works better than the HF one. Should have just tried it on screen.

@@opelgtcr8z491 My boss had tow of these that he was trying to slowly remove for newer machines, and he kept them because when the new machines were unusable for what ever reason, this machine handled it.
nest time do not flip the tire. Try to rotate it, same effect less effort. You already had one half the bead broke loose, all you had to do was the same thing to the other side.
That machine is notorious for breaking valve stems, Best to put them in once the tire is on.
I would rather work with a set of Semi tire spoons, than that Harbor Freight tool.

It works for my old cars pretty well. Not great for some newer cars with small center holes. Need ones that grab the outside rim for those. Im just amazed that the pneumatics still work from when I was a kid.

I have 2 of the 100 per cent manual ones . I think mine are around 100 years old.

Cool! I bet you really have to know how to use the hand tools. Do you still have the manual bead breakers for them? Some kind of clamp thing I believe.

Similar to yours but no pneumatics.

What model and can you use it on aluminum rims

I'm not sure of all the Coats models but their newer, more modern changers are less manual and grip the rims from inside the back of the rim. I don't think they have a manual version of this. I'm sure you can use this manual one of some aluminum rims if the center hole is big enough but the screw clamp may mar the rim more than you like. Also the manual hand tools can be harsh on the aluminum.
