- “You wanna be on top?” Tyra Banks made those famous five words stick since she launched America’s Next Top Model in 2003. The reality competition has spanned close to 25 seasons and over 30 versions of the show have been produced worldwide.
Whether you love or hate the show, it has launched the careers of many models who have appeared in the competition. Some of them didn’t even have to be crowned the top model to find success after the show.

@@2010syria meh sometimes. The modeling world is very exclusive and seems to dislike a lot of these commercial type shows. Which is actually pretty sad because I'd love to see these people succeed in their way.
She was right. She was discovered by a photographer on instagram which started her modeling career. Tyra Banks had nothing to do with that.

Winnie Harlow needs to humble herself and lessen her ego. You got discovered by Tyra period. The photog who got you will only notice you because of the show. Your not a gift from God and its your destiny thing. You where given a platform its up to you how you use thar platform.

@@loveyousecretl635 It’s not really because of the show, but only because of Tyra. I’m a model, I know the fashion world, and I can assure you they hate reality shows like American Next top model. The proof is that we don’t hear about the winners of the show, they have absolutely not made their career take off, it is only those who have left the show who are noticed and make a name for themselves.
She was discovered Tyra Banks for the show, but she owes her modeling career to a photographer that spotted her on instagram. Being on the show probably worked against her in the REAL modeling world.

I remember watching every episode of Americas next top model and excited for the finalle, excited to know who's gonna win.

Nyle was also on Dancing with the Stars, and I think that's amazing because most people dance by listening to the music, but he managed to dance without it

Analeigh also played "herself" in one episode of TBBT, where Raj and Howard found the ANTM house.
She also played the smart girl who cracked Sheldon's code in the later season.
Yoanna House (the winner from Cycle 2) is still consistently modeling. I don't think she ever hit it "big", but if you follow her instagram, you can see that she still is regularly and consistently modeling at 40 years old. I think that's pretty amazing.
Analeigh Tipton is such a good actress. I think she will get a big role soon because of how talented she is. Can’t wait. She was also on the film Lucy next to Scarlett Johansson.
Leila is definitely the most successful yet she was focused on the least...
So proud of her. She deserves this and it's funny how she got eliminated at that dumb photoshoot where they throw you around and expect you to look good. She got voted back into the competition and they gave her a dumb dress that blocked her vision with a runway that had many sets of stairs. Girl obviously fell a bit, but handled it like a champ.
Her bully may have won the competition, but Leila won the hearts of every high fashion brand. Now she's the most successful ANTM contestant in the modeling industry.
The show was unfortunately more interested in plot lines than discovering actual talent. Leila is the exception to that, if she had just sent her pictures to any agency in NYC, she would have started working immediately.
Always passing up Allison Harvard. She was also like the sweetest on both times she was on. Natural talent, drama free, successful Model. Robbed!

Leila and Winnie are like the only successful top models (that are actually booked for modelling work) the show produced.
Elyse (season 1) did well in Asia as a print model for a while until she quit.
I only know that girl from Crazy stupid love like she said. She has a VERY unique look so I can see it being hard for her to not be remembered from a certain role.

After all these years it still makes me mad that Danielle had to close the gap in her teeth and now there's a hand full of models with gaps like Leila.
This show used to be my guilty pleasure back in the day, and I do remember thinking it was awful that Tyra convinced Danielle to do that. Her teeth were beautiful. Not everyone needs to have straight white chicklet teeth.

I think she didn't close the gap all the way. Tyra wanted her to. But she only got the gap narrowed, not completely closed.

Oh my goodness, I was just looking at some of Allison's photos, and WOW! She looks amazing. BEAUTIFUL!!! I was floored by her portfolio, and glad to see that she's gone on to do extraordinarily well in fashion. She looks like high fashion for sure. Like many of the girls who used ANTM as a springboard to go on and not only survive, but thrive in the industry. That makes me happy, I'm glad to see that appearing on the show wasn't just for the cameras and that real careers emerged from their time on the show, regardless of whatever you think of Tyra Banks. I like to think that regardless of the retraints and red tape associated with America's Next Top Model, it was always going to depend on the girls who were on the show to take every advantage of having been on the show whether they won the coveted top spot or not. I'm sure that there were some pretty questionable happenings going on for every season, but that's the nature of show business, and the truth is, Ms. Banks is a shrewd business woman and celebrity first. She wasn't there to make friends with any of the girls, and to think she was, was foolhardy erroneous mental fogginess distorting reality. That just wasn't what she was ever all about during ANTM's hay day. Maybe, if you were the winner or the runner up, and even then, whatever relationship that developed out of it was first contractual. That's just the nature of the business, so...

ANTM was a launchpad to acting and reality TV for many of the contestants, but with a few exceptions with some high fashion or commercial success (Yaya, Dani, Fatima, Fo, Elise, Leila) this show did not produce too many "Top Models"

Sheena Sakai was on the Starz series “Power”. Jennifer An from the short season has been on many tv series like “Greys Anatomy”, “your the worst”, the Mindy project”, “The Mick”, and “Bosch”. Anchal is a Deal or No Deal girl and has dated Jim Carrey. Their are a lot of girls that became successful after the series.
