    What about strain-hardened Aluminum series? After extrusion do they be submitted to heat-treating?

      Hi Samuel. Could you be more specific about what you need? We have some information on extruded profiles on this page: www.hydro.com/en-NO/aluminium/products/extruded-profiles/

    How do you extrude complex shapes that have voids in the middle, such as pipes?

    • @Eli-kv7tx
      @Eli-kv7tx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you would just extrude the whole thing, send it over to a CNC/fabrication shop (which Hydro has), then use a CNC machine, saw, or punch where you need it in the middle, then probably weld it on. I'm not an expert, I just have worked in the same industry where Hydro has worked as an operator (worker bee).

      The center hollow is formed as part of the die and extruded as such. I work in maintenance at one of the American plants.

      @@kevinkesler8154 I'd like to see it, because explaining it just doesn't allow my mind to comprehend how that works. Thanks though.

      There are 2 main processes.
      1) a Mandrel attached to the ram pushes the billet with the inside void in mind.
      2) a porthole die which makes separate pieces and welded back together before coming out of the press. Its weld is seamless so it looks natural.

    You keep pronouncing and ALUMINUM incorrectly. Please adjust.

    • @NorskHydroASA
      @NorskHydroASA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Aluminum is the American and Canadian spelling. The spelling that we use, aluminium, is the preferred spelling outside North America. So no, we will not adjust. =)
