This theme is represents the friendliness but actually to be honest French are unfaithful. Especially against Turks. Look at the history relationship of OTTOMAN-French (I.François-Suleiman The Magnificent) you will see everything

Also the decline of byzantine empire was from franks and after turks just finish the job……latins and franks crusaders in general fractioned the byzantines……
Is definitely not worthless, a ranged unit that both counters halbs (Which are usually the best answer to Franks) and doesn't doe to skirms is solid Is just that double gold comp with Paladins is too hard to mantain when Paladins are extremely costly already
@@Mattroid99 also factoring upgrade cost. I think most players just say screw it and spam Paladin, hoping that they bave the number to overwhelm their opponent before they can spam enough Halberdiers
They made this unit better in age of mythology, the nord axe thrower looks more realistic. Hell, even the huskarl And age 1 had better centerions (those are cataphracts) But still my favorite game
