I know that this might sound out of pocket but as a schizophrenic (the character of) Brew feels really relatable. The constant fear of basically anything and everything being able to hurt you and logical not-so-logical explanations hit so close to home. Seeing a character like this makes me feel a lot less alone in this hell, even if it was not the intention with the writers :")
Hey, so I don’t have schizophrenia although I have some disorders associated with psychosis, and PTSD which causes me to be hypervigilant about any and all perceived risks - you’re definitely not alone, that kind of paranoia (particularly when you’re paranoid about something that could logically happen) can be really difficult to manage and something I’m constantly struggling with. I’m sorry you’re going through this, it’s not a fun experience, but hopefully it helps knowing you’re not the only one ❤ take care friend, hopefully it becomes easier to manage in the long run
I don't have schizophrenia either, although I have battled anxiety disorders my whole life, and I have autism that wasn't diagnosed until adulthood. I know all too well what it's like to always feel afraid that SOMETHING is going to hurt you, and to feel all alone. I'm so glad you found a way to feel less alone; that's the best feeling you can have when dealing with mental illness.
I’m just scared of anything that makes sense, I don’t have any disorders or any other conditions, I just don’t like planes or the ocean. Even nature is slightly horrifying.
@@davepumphernickel9568 Im with you on the ocean. I'll surf, fine no problem, but swimming? No thanks. It's so powerful and looks infinite, infinitely terrifying. Not to mention it's what we can't see that's the scariest. No thank you.
25:47 Sink hole house. Normally a concrete foundation slab is poured in one go, so it's a single continuous piece of concrete, and it has a grid of steel reinforcement rods cast into it. But you can also pour a foundation using a little cement mixer to mix up batches of concrete out of sand, gravel and cement. This way is usually cheaper, but it's a lot more work and it takes a lot longer. You can see that the foundation is a patchwork of concrete pours. Unfortunately it used to be common to not use rebar, so there was nothing tying the sections together except the uneven surface of the joints, which evidently wasn't enough to support the weight of the section under that room when a sinkhole opened up under it.
Thank you. I always wondered why the rebar didn't catch him. I at first assumed the house was pier-and-beam or something, but that didn't make sense either since the exterior held up so well but didn't save him.
Does anyone else have the seemingly irrational fear that an aggressive spider could be hiding under the kitchen counter when you go to make your morning coffee and bite you?
I got a few brown recluse bites. They just turned into boils that grew until they ruptured, drained, and then healed so I completely lost my fear of recluses. Then the obituary of a customer at my former job showed up on Facebook. A few months later I ran into his granddaughter. Turns out he died from a recluse bite. That not only revived my fear of them, I actually can't sleep because I worry there's one in my bed.
never knew that today will be the day I hear brew mispronounce the county I live in, it's heart fud sheer (Hertfordshire) i'm northern and got weird looks by a bus driver for saying "hert fud shuh" 😂
I recently found the channel (yesterday) and as i was over with most of the content here we have a new video (20 min ago) so far i would say your content feels like a breathe of fresh air after looking at the newer ones in comparison gives old YT vibes keep it up!
I love videos like this that explore Brew more as a character! His terror of everything from his extensive knowledge of anything is so endearing lol Also Day 2 of asking the Brew gang to bring back chill ❄️🩵
I remember a story from sometime in the last century when a pedestrian was innocently walking across the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. One of the many suspension cables snapped with such force that the impact to his head killed him. 20 feet or so in either direction and he might have been not injured at all or sustained a lesser injury and survived. Until it is your time, nothing can kill you. When it is your time, nothing can save you.
@Iloveslinky2011 it is not, humans are meant to feel compassion to other humans, animals are meant to be our prey, an animal wouldn't feel compassion to you in the same way, so why should you? In this world it is to eat or be eaten.
@lourdespachla6516 Whatever you live by, live by it. We have the choice of free will. But as for me and OP. We choose compassion for animals. Simple as that.
Hey, Brew. New fan, here. Curious what your pet floaty guy’s name is…? Would be pretty cool if someone knew or you let me know. I can’t seem to find it online.
Sinkholes can appear in Indiana as well. Back in the '80s, a friend lived in Westfield Indiana. A sinkhole opened up in the road near his house. It wasn't huge, maybe 15 feet or so and about as deep. When he moved a few months later, it was still there with a fence around it. No one was hurt. I have no idea whether they filled it in or not.
In a similar sinkhole situation, this year, a woman in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia fell into a sinkhole as she was walking down the street. There was cctv footage of the fall. There was nothing she could do. The body was not recovered.
I remember the sinkhole event. I saw it on the news. They used the bulldozer bucket to lower a bunch of flowers into the sinkhole to honor his brother. It was SO SAD. And to this day, I am horrified at the thought of sinkholes. You just never know.
something like that happened to me as well, I was on the bus heading to connections cafe with my best friend, and we were minding our own business, watching video's on my phone, when a lady in a car Crashed behind the bus hitting the bus, and lots of police officers and paramedics came to the scene, and the lady's face was badly bruised, and she was either, talking on the phone or doing her make up. later while at connections cafe, I felt pain in my neck, at first I didn't wanted to go to the hospital, then my aunt convinced me, and I got diagnosed with whiplash, and with rest and easy neck exercises my neck got better in a few days. and thank goodness the kids in the back of the bus weren't hurt or my best friend hurt.
That sinkhole story is incredibly sad Knowing that your brother has disappeared deep into the earth and then hearing that there's nothing anyone can do to save him is bad enough, but also having to look as they demolish your house and then fill up the hole with dirt, sealing him away forever, must be devastating
I think Brew might make an excellent candidate for the Director of HHS, or at least RFK Jr.’s number one lieutenant. Regarding human health, poor diet, unsanitary practices, and bad habits, Brew already has quite the repertoire.😉
I remember when that sinkhole one happened… I live in SE Pennsylvania and we get a decent amount of sinkholes here, usually in the road, so hearing this was shocking news. Also my brother-in-law lives in Jacksonville, so when it happened, my husband called him to freak out about it. His brother wasn’t as concerned as my husband, but it is what it is… The point is, we have a lot of limestone here on the East coast. The water is lousy with it and it corrodes all your plumbing, kills your coffee makers… And even if it’s not making sinkholes, things styles weird. Our front stoop is just a slab of concrete on a 41 year old house. You should see how crooked that thing is! If you put a level on it, I swear the bubble would be all the way on one side. That’s also why our new front door that we got several years ago hangs crooked… You think it’s straight, but it’s not because the house isn’t. It’s messed up.
The reason blue drinks topping so that he can stay vigilant and avoid death. He makes these videos just for that reason. To educate himself and to defend himself from death. The only way he could die it's from a caffeine overdose and heart attack in old age.
You know Brew is seriously out-of-bounds when Grill isn’t grilling him anymore. God knows how many people will be keeping the Brew Awards safe for this long. ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
A little piece of advice for anyone buying used power equipment (hand tools, landscaping, contruction, generators, etc), make sure you get this equipment checked out properly BEFORE you use it. As someone who services and repairs all manners of junk I cannot stress enough how dangerous DIY repairs can be. lol yeah
The fear was always there; Brew just makes you consciously aware of it.

Aw, Grill's advice was genuinely good, and I love that he spent this episode just trying to be a decent friend.
It's kinda refreshing to see brew be the unhinged one for once...

Using the coffee maker as a fact checker and additional info is brilliant. I wish you all the luck with your channel : )
This video coming out the day I lost my grandmother was something I kind of needed. This is a good reminder to appreciate the time we have.
I'm so sorry for your loss.

Death comes for us all. Some people die of old age though. So enjoy life before it ends. Oh and treat people with kindness.
Who knew Brew has crippling anxiety caused from making these videos?
Is it really the videos though, or just the copious amount of caffeine he consumes?

It hurts differently in my heart when it comes to animals 😢
