They run ads. Period. Any video is susceptible to the contract. Edit: To be crystal clear, YT runs ads on any channel they want to run ads on. As far as I know they don't ask us creators if we agree with the agenda behind the ad or not.
Hi there! I've been trying to get into voice acting and this was great! I'd be more than willing to help out in future projects.
I have listened to this when I go to bed lots of times now. I love it. What makes it stand out is that it has relatively long sections with no talking or or narration, just music, sound effects and atmosphere. Brilliant.
I fall asleep to the same 5 audiobooks: Hellraiser, Scarlett gospels, Salem’s lot, and then there were none, and Coraline. Lately I’ve been falling asleep to alien audiobooks, especially sea of sorrows and earth hive. I am so excited to hear this one!
This is really special. Thoroughly enjoying it. Great use of music. I know audio dramas _are_ enjoyed by lots of people, but I still think they’re slightly under appreciated by the wider YT community. Thank you. 🎉

When I was a lad (1970's/1980's), there used to be popular radio programs such as this that I would listen to at night. Well done. If only they brought these back on the radio.
Was it Nightfall? I listen to radio plays and audio stories on Spotify a lot, and that's one of the "old school" radio shows I enjoy the most. That plus Lights Out and Black Mass 🙂
They are all over TH-cam, new ones and old ones. Don't really need a radio to enjoy them, just a cell phone or a tablet and wifi. 😊

Lol those opening sounds, they're imprinted on my brain as the scene plays out- MU/TH/UR intercepting the "sos" (warning) and communicating with the Nostromo while it appears as if the two helmets are chatting with one another...SO FUCKING ICONIC!
All movie used sound effects. Everything you hear in this was taken from Alien: Isolation. Thousands of audio files. Not a single one labeled. I had to listen to every single one. It took 7 hours to find the hyper sleep chamber opening sound effect.
This was... Excelent. Loved every second of it. Standing ovation from my house at 3:13 am. I cant wait until you finish Aliens.

You really get a much better appreciation for the music as well, including how much it sounds like Star Trek The Motion Picture. I have always liked Jerry Goldsmiths work. We release a loose adaptation of Alien: Isolation in a few days and Aliens... well... when most of the cast responds to my emails I guess we'll see when that'll get done.
In the Alien 4 novelization, Weyland-Yutani had been bought out by Wal-Mart

Hard to believe the movie was made almost half a century ago, just as the Lunar landing being even longer ago is mindboggling.

Im probably very late, but i enjoyed this audio drama. When i first read the book, i was unsettled enough, but I am now hearing it an audio drama, it increased the creep factor way more, i love every second of this.

Listening to this made my year... I am a huge Alien/Predator fan and it was fun 'watching' this with my imagination while listening to the audio drama. You respected the original work and I must say I had nostalgia-goosebumps listening to this. Great job to all involved in this project. Please do more... please... Oh and thanks for the mp3. Wow, I listened to this and got sad at the the end, you told a great tale. I wanted to expand my comment by saying, You really did put on a great performance, I loved the Ripley change too, I hope you make Aliens! 1979 was a great year and you picked the best movie to dramatise.
Just found this after listening to a BioShock Radio drama! Man, the work gone into this insane! Im sure everyone who has listened really appreciates the work. Especially the music/sound driven ambience between scenes.

No Alien 3. At least not as you knew it. Aliens is much different as well. Alien: Sevastopol is coming soon and it's a way different adaptation. Loosely based on the game. Very loosely.

I thought river of pain could not matched truly immersed in this masterpiece well done how are you going to beat this one ❤
I couldn’t get my head round Ripley being played by a man, as the character is forever associated with a female protagonist. It was a bit difficult to tell some characters apart - Ripley being one of them. Yet Lambert, the only female, is played with a strong foreign accent, which seems a bit pointless. Good production overall, but some scenes would be pretty incomprehensible if you hadn’t seen the movie. For example, when the creature bursts out of Kane’s chest - why didn’t the other members of the crew react to that? One would have had to have seen the film to make sense of it.
First: The character always was male and was changed later. Second: they did this for free and did a great job. Third: My daughter was born on April 1st last year and this released 25 days later. I edited this with an infant in one arm and a mouse in the other and no headphones because I wanted to hear her breathing and kept the audio low so I didn't disturb her. Fourth: I ran out of time and they didn't do any reactions and I was honestly done with it I just wanted to hold my daughter and be with her so I literally said "fuck this I'm done, I want to be a daddy right now". Fifth: There had to be changes or else the fat rat could nibble on me. Sixth: There were nothing but problems even casting this with two people causing massive problems, one demanding money and pulling the race card if I didn't comply and the other was... a problem. So the very fact this even got done is astonishing. I fully cast Aliens, every single person I cast stopped responding to emails after I sent the script.

The best audio quality presentation of the Alien soundtrack that I think I’ve ever heard. The growling, low string foundation in Jerry Goldsmith’s disturbing score, as the camera leads us through the Nostromo’s interior at the opening of the film, always creeps me out right off.

Yes I have. But I am not casting these kind of projects anymore. I fully cast Aliens and all but two of the cast members stopped responding to me after I sent the script. I had terrible casting problems with Alien as well.

I went to Alien on opening nite.
While standing in line to get in
Talked ton guy who was seeing it for the second time that day.
Asked him how was it.
And he just said he would never be the same after seeing this movie
And had to see it again to try and ratchenilize what he just saw.
He had that blank stare like he was shell shocked.
You know the 100 ysrd stare.
I shrugged it off and eventually went to see it.
To say i was
FREAKED out after seeing it was an understatement.
I was with some friends and during the ride to meet some other friends
Not a word was said.
As we all were trying to comprehend what we just saw.
The friends we met immediately knew something was wrong with us snd all we could do waswalk around like zombies because none of us could ever explain what we just saw.
The most intense movie i have ever seen
And still is to this day.
I hope our version was at least as entertaining.

I actually do what I do for my blind friend. And other friends. I remade predator and predator 2 for him. And Dude is just fine.
@@Anarchist86edI did an interesting art project recently that would have `been a load more interesting with a blind from birth friend as part of it. I painted my fridge in acrylic paints and just happened to feel it with my eyes closed just to see what sensory input I got. I was amazed because there was loads of information.... But now I need to see the interpretation of the artwork from someone blind and especially blind since foreever...if you see what I mean....
I wanna say you really did an awesome job making this amazing ALIEN audio drama, since I am a big fan of the classic film as well and it was pretty clever how you made Ridley into a male like a captain.

The original script had the Ripley character as a man. It was the executives idea to change Ripley to a woman.

Great work but agree that the level of profanity is way way more than the original script. Less is more I think.
Very well done. I'm actually tempted to tackle John Carpenter's "Halloween" as an audio drama... but adapted from the 1979 novelization rather than the filmscript. That way it can expand on things as well as lend itself better to the audio format.
Have fun. My last production will be Aliens. I cast the whole thing and all but 2 people kept on, the rest just stopped responding to emails. Which then led me to spend a friends money on elevenlabs to do the rest of the voices.

Fantastic work! Is this based on something like the original script or did you guys rewrite it special for this production? In any case I enjoyed it immensly! Kudos!
Some is rewritten to make it less a copy. But most of it is original. I wrote the scenes with Ripley in the derelict and all the dialogue with it. I changed a lot of dialogue. But of course I take no credit. Also, changing things supposedly helps keep fat rats out of your hair. 🙄

Yeah. And Luke was Starkiller. And Eric Stoltz was Marty Mcfly. All bad choices. A male Ripley was a bad choice. Especially bad when considering where it went with Aliens.
