I can't believe all these relics! Don't forget to check out James channel y'all. Tell him Wild Kyle sent ya! Also, this videos thumbnail was created by PaleoCris and Bri! th-cam.com/channels/TV_5etNskcAeNxrPpDYrOA.html
@@WILDKYLE Anytime man! And yep, it may be time to pull out the old maps and research/explore until we have some sites like this. Maybe some cool metal detecting sites too.
The weird green button is made of Bakelite. The dark ones that you are saying are bone, are actually Antler. Bone buttons will be white or cream colored. They will have tiny lines or graining in them.
They were used to hold up nylon stockings. Either with a garter belt, or sewed into underwear. Definitely from a clothing manufacturer. You could do a bit of research and find a bit about the Mill. Enjoyed watching your auction. Went to Chunky Gal this weekend hunting rubies with our UV Lights! My Friend Sean takes tours.
Those little metal thingies at 6:24 time stamp are called corset fasteners they held the corsets together. At 11:53 time stamp looks like a hat pin topper if it has a hole in just one side.
Wow Ive never seen an igloo ink bottle. He could sell that in Alaska for a chunkochange. If you spray the shell buttons with shellac they wont disinegrate.
Love all the relics. The 4 hole buttons are underwear buttons. Love the glass bead! Grommets not rivets! For tarps..probably military. Nice navy button and flat buttons! Wish I could have hunted that creek with you guys! Love all the suspension! Wow!
Ayee Toledo representing ! So cool to see little relics from my hometown. I would absolutely love to poke around in some of the places yall get to go to. Super jealous. Lol Love your channel, please dont stop creating 😃
Incredible relics, it looked like so much fun 😎👍 I can’t believe there are so many buttons there, looks like thousands upon thousands 😊😊 What a crazy day that was👍 thanks Kyle 👍
Wow! I follow james channel already, and he has found some amazing things. You two together is like watching comedy central! All those buttons! Thousands of them, is incredible! And all those suspender buckles, there is a lot of pants falling down back in the 1800's! So many cool finds and james is so knowledgeable about all of them! Awesome day gentlemen! Thanks for taking us along!
Lead buttons could be pewter also and the bone buttons could be some ivory. VERY cool finds there buddy!! I bet you have some corset hooks in with the items you found. Hope you can get back there for another visit soon. :) Also womens' shoes had hooks and small buttons, a rod was used to close them.
Glad that I found your chanel. The red bead is the top to a hat pin. 1 hole = hatpin, 2 = bead. The small loops with 2 bumps that you keep finding are from corsets. Larger one is for the skirt. Really cool finds.
I’m watching this and it screams cloth pulp paper mill site. Usually the location of the actual mill would have been either upstream on another creek all together to guarantee the paper mill had fresh water. Great site and a great place to get an idea of what our ancestors wore.
Is this from a place that took old clothing to convert to felt. Chris Armstrong shot a couple of videos in Massachusetts where they did that they found buttons from all the way back to the 1700s and military buttons from around the world.
Thanks James for taking Kyle out relic hunting. I'm subscribed to your channel and I will subscribe to CS coins. You found a lot of very cool relics Kyle. I really like the porcelain buttons. They are all so interesting. A bit of history. ❤️❤️
What fun! I’ve loved hunting relics over the years. The most fun was a 90 degree day wading at low tide along a river. Buttons, marbles, pieces of transfer ware and bottles! It’s addictive. Isn’t it?
Those were amazing little fines. I love the little black button that had the stars on it keep up the good finds. Love the videos thumbs up to finding more good oldies. Thanks for sharing from Laura up here in Tacoma Washington.
While you were picking out buttons I kept looking for fossils.. hoping you would have found some kind of fossilized something... buttons are interesting too. Great video! 🙂
I enjoyed your video it's so amazing to see items that are so old survive for all this time goes to tell you they made some good stuff back then didn't they have a wonderful week and I hope you get you a fossil mobile soon ♥️👍👍👍⚒️⚒️⚒️🗝️
I was down by the Illinois River looking at you know cool stuff by the water and I found some clam shells and they actually had holes where the buttons had been punched out I looked up a little bit of history and found out about 10 miles down the river was a button making factory and they used the shells they found in the Illinois River that sells with the holes in them are cool
I love finding buttons and buckles when I am metal detecting. I never found that many in one day though. I am surprised you don't metal detect Kyle. Awesome finds! Love it! My goal is to fill a Mason Jar with old buttons, May take years... At this spot I could do it in 1 day... lol
Cool video Kyle. I hope you made sure that fishing string got sent to a landfill. I have some bird houses and every year I find at least 1 dead bird that has been strangled by fishing string. They use it for nesting material and it gets wrapped around them and as they struggle it tightens up and they die, poor kids don't know any better.
Kind of looks like someone spilled the huge can of old buttons my mom had when I was a kid. I remember searching through to find matching sets for various clothing items she was working on. It’s always fascinating to see the things they created so long ago, despite not having all the fancy technology we have today. Thanks for the video, noble sir!
The item you found at about minute 21:05 was about 1920s Victorian age clip on earring. There would have been more to it, such as glass beads, stones, tassels, etc. But that little lever on the back is what would have clipped to the lobe of the ear. Nice finds.
Hey WILDKYLE I was wondering where are some good places to dig and look for bottles I know about creeks and old bottle dumps but I have no idea where to look
That’s awesome those are incredible find especially for the age and it seems like every time you pick up a shift up all the material there’s something in it that’s worthwhile investigating wow that’s some really nice relics dang
How strange to find all those buttons. It's like the cloths got washed away in the river water. I have some black buttons that look like yours. They are in my mothers button jar. Mother was 90 when she passed in 2012. They could, most likely, be from her mother. Congrats on your auction. Truck coming soon.
What an amazing site! I can't believe all of those amazing finds!! There must be a similar site down here in Florida, there has to be, lol! Thanks for another fantastic video. 💙
Cool! Stuff like that takes a LOT of very specific knowledge to realize what you're looking at... so does fossils and bottles and stuff too, of course, although I think fossils is the "easy" sale there, because most would think that parts of extinct animals are cool, but "what's so special about an old coke-bottle?"-kinda deal. I'm ALWAYS very impressed with people who are knowledgeable about any of these kinds of things, though, and it's very interesting to be introduced to a little part of those worlds... :)
I'm watching this about a year out, so I don't know if you will see my question and comment... I wanted to ask if you can tell us to what do you attribute the concentration of buttons/metal buckles & fasteners in this area. It is mindblowing to see so many. LOVE this video. Will definitely look for James' channel & follow.
Was this area near some kind of old clothing mill? Because that's quite an unnatural amount of buttons, buckles and corset eyelets! The black mourning buttons are from when it was common to wear only black for a year after losing a close family member. There was also a wide assortment of beautiful black mourning jewelry. (learned via The Northern Mudlarks!) I was still looking in your screens for fossils and pretty rocks.
Check out these guys in GB.They do something in Engliand called "MUDLARKING" They similarly hunt out relics. I mostly follow the Northern Mudlarkers.I know you will.
At 21:00 that’s a tie clip that would keep the the two hanging parts on a tie together so the thin side wouldn’t come out from behind the part on the tie meant to be seen, it’s pretty cool and given the other finds could definitely have been worn by some kind of military personnel
Hi Kyle, do you think maybe a cemetery or a few upstream might have washed out over the years and left all of the buttons and buckles and stuff to accumulate there?
I can't believe all these relics! Don't forget to check out James channel y'all. Tell him Wild Kyle sent ya! Also, this videos thumbnail was created by PaleoCris and Bri! th-cam.com/channels/TV_5etNskcAeNxrPpDYrOA.html
Should link up with your local artists/fashion designers, bet they would love to pick through those!
When James was telling you about that little doohickey, he said it went on the bottom of dress, if I remember correctly it is a corset fastener.😁
I am jealous of those finds, my friend! Congrats on a beautiful display case of finds and a killer video.
We gotta find spots like this around here! Thank YOU and Bri for the awesome thumbnail!
@@WILDKYLE Anytime man! And yep, it may be time to pull out the old maps and research/explore until we have some sites like this. Maybe some cool metal detecting sites too.
Nice job on the thumbnail Cris & Bri! My sister & niece in Ky rec'd their paleopacks & I'm excited to hear about their finds!!
The weird green button is made of Bakelite. The dark ones that you are saying are bone, are actually Antler. Bone buttons will be white or cream colored. They will have tiny lines or graining in them.
The metal fastener right before 4:00 I believe is for garters, that’s why it’s so small.
Oh, I'm SUFFERING with Button Lust right now!!!
Some of those rocks looked worth collecting too
I really like the mourning buttons. I have been watching British mudlatkers. They find many of these too.. Thanks
Those little metal thingies at 6:24 time stamp are called corset fasteners they held the corsets together. At 11:53 time stamp looks like a hat pin topper if it has a hole in just one side.
Oh yeah! Fresh upload time!
We killed it man! Next time we have to get you a Civil War eagle button! I can’t wait for you to come back to Michigan!
Yessir! I can't wait to go back too and hang out and hunt more treasure with you!
Just went to subscribe to James channel. Excited to watch his videos
Wow Ive never seen an igloo ink bottle. He could sell that in Alaska for a chunkochange. If you spray the shell buttons with shellac they wont disinegrate.
love the Civil War buttons! button button who's got the button? so cool, I envy you! I miss going on digs!
You need to slow down looking through your plans. You passed over several nice pieces. Awesome searching!
An unusual find...Thanks for sharing.
You fellas found Button Heaven!!! Wow!!!💖
The ultimate hunting spot right there. Very cool!
Thanks James for taking us relic hunting Kyle & James.
The little tear drop pieces are corset hooks! (The metal)
I just saw the thumbnail, window boxes are cool too. Like having a little museum in your house,
Really enjoyed the video. Is there any explanation on why there are so many buttons in a small area?
11:07 I think that may be a hat pin bead!🙂 That looks like so much fun!!
Fantastic x
Great new content. I love it. ✌🏻❤️🙂🙏
Button, button, who’s got the button.? Great video
Love all the relics. The 4 hole buttons are underwear buttons. Love the glass bead! Grommets not rivets! For tarps..probably military. Nice navy button and flat buttons! Wish I could have hunted that creek with you guys! Love all the suspension! Wow!

I love old buttons :)
Cool Stuff🤗 The dress metal thing looks like from a garter belt. Would of had another side, use to hold up Womens stockings...way before pantyhose lol
I’m watching this and it screams cloth pulp paper mill site. Usually the location of the actual mill would have been either upstream on another creek all together to guarantee the paper mill had fresh water. Great site and a great place to get an idea of what our ancestors wore.
thx for explanation was wondering how so many buttons collected in one place!
I figured there must've been a factory there long ago, but I had no idea what it was called. Thanks!
WoW! Those are great pieces of history you guys found. Just amazing.
Is this from a place that took old clothing to convert to felt. Chris Armstrong shot a couple of videos in Massachusetts where they did that they found buttons from all the way back to the 1700s and military buttons from around the world.
I saw a few nice rocks in there Kyle that you passed up

Super cool finds. Imagine what you could find there with a metal detecting
Those relics all can sell for good money! What an amazing place.
Looks like alot of fun !!
Cool finds !! 👍

"He kissed it! Ewww!" Says the man who kisses shark teeth! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love you Kyle!!!
Those were amazing little fines. I love the little black button that had the stars on it keep up the good finds. Love the videos thumbs up to finding more good oldies. Thanks for sharing from Laura up here in Tacoma Washington.
Really cool finds!🤩 The thing you weren't sure what it was @21:00 (I think it was) I believe is an old tie clip.✌️🤠
While you were picking out buttons I kept looking for fossils.. hoping you would have found some kind of fossilized something... buttons are interesting too. Great video! 🙂
You could make some cool jewelry with all those grommets. Thanks for the video!

Holy, what a bunch of buttons!
What kind of site was this where there are so many buttons and belt buckles and not much anything else?
Cool video Kyle. I hope you made sure that fishing string got sent to a landfill. I have some bird houses and every year I find at least 1 dead bird that has been strangled by fishing string. They use it for nesting material and it gets wrapped around them and as they struggle it tightens up and they die, poor kids don't know any better.

I live in Michigan and have found some good bottles, plates but nothing as old as your things
That is amazing so many in one spot. Wa there a dump near by how did so many get in one spot ?
The item you found at about minute 21:05 was about 1920s Victorian age clip on earring. There would have been more to it, such as glass beads, stones, tassels, etc. But that little lever on the back is what would have clipped to the lobe of the ear. Nice finds.
The black bead at 7;15 looks like jet that was used in Victorian mourning jewelry. 🤔
Hey WILDKYLE I was wondering where are some good places to dig and look for bottles I know about creeks and old bottle dumps but I have no idea where to look
The flat piece of metal with a rounded loop attached is part of a corset busk. You were finding a lot of the loops that fell off, also.
That’s awesome those are incredible find especially for the age and it seems like every time you pick up a shift up all the material there’s something in it that’s worthwhile investigating wow that’s some really nice relics dang
Hey Kyle! Most of the ‘rivets’ you are finding are actually grommets… they are the ‘rings’ with open centers… most rivets have a solid center…
Dang you sure got a lot of buttons 😆 and 21:08 likely a tie clip that is broken
How strange to find all those buttons. It's like the cloths got washed away in the river water. I have some black buttons that look like yours. They are in my mothers button jar. Mother was 90 when she passed in 2012. They could, most likely, be from her mother. Congrats on your auction. Truck coming soon.
What an amazing site! I can't believe all of those amazing finds!! There must be a similar site down here in Florida, there has to be, lol! Thanks for another fantastic video. 💙
Look for cloth or rag pulp mills
The queen head buttons might be Liberty.
The piece at 20:58 reminds me of a tie clasp.
Yes xxx wild.
I'm watching this about a year out, so I don't know if you will see my question and comment...

Where did you get strainer with the diamond shape pattern? Can you put up a link?
What is that sifter pan you use? I’d love to get one it’s prefect for what you do and what I wanna do
That's a lot of old buttons ,etc ,some of those clips ,might be for stockings or garters
Wow! Why so many buttons and buckles?
Your “funky buckle “ was the latch (tongue )mechanism from a 1700’s buckle
sorry if I missed it…how did all of these fasteners end up in the same place?
Check out these guys in GB.They do something in Engliand called "MUDLARKING" They similarly hunt out relics. I mostly follow the Northern Mudlarkers.I know you will.
How does all that stuff get to where you found it??
The pointy clip thing? Maybe a tie clip?? 🤔🤔
20:58 look like a tie clip
Could the flat metal item at 20mins be possibly a Tie Clip?
Were in Michigan is this
At 21:00 that’s a tie clip that would keep the the two hanging parts on a tie together so the thin side wouldn’t come out from behind the part on the tie meant to be seen, it’s pretty cool and given the other finds could definitely have been worn by some kind of military personnel

No
