Stop dishing out coucil houses to anyone and everyone so people have to learn how to manage money. Having a mortgage at 27 is the best lesson in money management
I used to work in social housing, and the amount of younger people who used to moan about a £600 rent for a three bed detached house was infuriating. Also putting claims in for silly trivial things...they just don't live in the real world.😮
I think I'm in the minority where I've never used credit or loans or overdrafts, if I haven't got the money I obviously can't afford it and if I really must have something I'll save up if I've not got the cash!
I'm weird. I only use bnpl for stuff I can buy cash. I take advantage of the interest free periods but don't buy things I can't fund with cash if I chose to... doesn't make a lot of sense but the difference is the interest that I accrue in savings.
When Thinking Critically you choose the Necessity of abundance over Flavour. When in a Position of Privilege you choose Flavour over the Abundance of Necessity. Use your privilege to support the Working Class and Not of your own Privilege
So Alana is on benefits and can't afford, but she's going to use BNPL to buy gifts for Christmas. Presents that will be forgotten in a few weeks. I can't with these people...
Never buy what you can't afford. Frightening that nowadays children are running around with iPhones. I wouldn't even buy an iPhone for myself let alone a child. Social media has a lot to answer for.
Let them have what they want, we live in a culture of greed, peiple want what they know they cannot afford, they are not daft, let them have and suffer the consequences.
If you are taking out a loan for a takeaway, I highly doubt you need to worry about applying for a mortgage.
On the contrary, such mortgages are chopped up into little pieces and sold as AAA+ grade investments.
Or people could learn to be sensible?
No Martin. People need to be educated, not regulated.
It's very simple, don't borrow.

@@oakie007I know people that are scrounging aswell just to get a free house, it’s disgusting. They need to get stricter with it that’s for sure
Don't be silly, where will all those young male illegal immigrants live if we don't prioritise them for social housing? 🤔😉
@@YungstarH1Would you mind explaining more about this? How are they getting free houses?

@@slabbygabby I just hate owing stuff to people so I don't borrow if I can help it, that way I know I gained something on my own with my own money 🫠

How can any lender not carry out an affordability check? It's absolutely preposterous...
I never use that , I pay the things with cash or direct debit , simple
Still not a smart way to spend.

BNPL on a takeaway is crazy

Seen as benefits are getting cut id say lending now is probably a really bad idea
