before praising about this video i would like to thank barry for doing such a generous job.this video helped me and also will help any one who has the interest to learn such things.Even though this is filmed before decades,it gave me a clear perception..i had also gone through other videos uploaded by u.Pls consider this post as expression of my gratitude.

after i watched this video, my insight is very open because the video is very good to give information was created about half a century ago to explain fluid mechanics in an accessible way for undergraduate engineering and physics students

    OMG
At 2:00 minutes he talks while his attention is turned to the blackboard!
How genuinely humble. What a cool technique! You don't see this on a Vsauce video ever.

If my teacher were really interested on giving us a real learning they would have done something like this to give clear examples

What a great video. I did my PhD thesis (1970) on the climbing effect in non-Newtonian fluids and how it was related to the material properties of the fluid at the University of Colorado.

This should have been done at the college of textiles at NC State. I'm learning that my school wasn't as good as they told me it was...

I think this is supposed to be supplemental to an in-person curriculum. Few teachers then or now would be able to get their hands on so many of these materials and experiments all in one place, so they use the video to inspire the kids (and you and me!) and explain in detail afterwards.

because of the volumetric flow rate Q, which can be expressed independently of any constitutive equation as follows (

I'm watching these videos and they are interesting. The only problem I see with them is that even though the experiments look nice, nobody gives any explanation on why a certain behaviour is achieved… Is this the way of teaching in the US or is it just these videos?

These videos are not intended for that or tests, but rather give you an insight on the nature of fluids through series of experiments.

does anyone know where you can get notes on this lecture or a manual explaining the apparatus used around 8:20? I'm trying to do it for a physics final lab project and wanted some more information (articles, journal entries, lab manuals, etc.)
