"He is magical" even 50 years later! When he performs live, the combination of his voice and his charisma, it is so mesmerizing that in that moment, there is no past, there is no future, there is just...ELVIS
If you've grown up with Elvis from the beginning of his career, he's part of you and just ingrained in you soul! I've loved that man for over 65 years first as young girl with a huge crush. In my teens and twenties love of his music. After that the love for the most wonderful kind human being. In my 70s all the above and More that I don't have explanations of. He's in my soul! A fan over 65 years and until I pass on!
I have said it 10'000 times , them man just oozed complete "COOLNESS" from every pore of his body. I don't think any male born post WW2 that has not looked in the mirror and said " I'm ELVIS" !! Hell i thought i was Elvis till i was about 20 ,i'm 58 now and i have the same connection you feel with him
No one knew how to sing a song like he did. He understood how and where to pull back, go high, low, end the note etc...He had a musical intelligence that many don't understand. He doesn't beat you over the head with his voice, but left you awestruck with it's power, range and his ability to change it at will and in a heartbeat. This performance gives me the chills every time I hear it. Vicki
And in the acual performance he threw the Cape into the audience . It was given back to graceland only when the guy who caught it died . He made sure that was in his will
Relvis, i wished people would see the very end of this video because he walks to the end of the stage in front and he takes off his belt and throws it to a fan.
Yes he was very patriotic. This was during the Aloha concert that was watched by over a billion people. You will notice the eagle bedazzled in red white and blue. The two eagle suits were made for the concert. He told the designer, he wanted them to scream America.
He sang the roof off that auditorium and sent it into the stratosphere!!!! Watching him perform this beautiful song is very emotional for me. I cry..and stop breathing a few times too. Thank you Ray for a great reaction and thank you Helene for this request....nothing short of Magnificent!!❤️⚡
THIS SONG HAS SUCH MEANING IN IT. I LOVE MY FLAG BUT THEY SHOULD HONERED INTO NATIONAL ANTHEM ... ELVIS'S PROFILE WITH SIDEBURNS ALSO WAS PUT AS AMBLEM OF THE NEWENGLAND PATRIOTS. IT IS A FACT. THEY DOWN SOME OF THE TRUTH. I GOOGLED IT TEN YEARS AGO.❤❤ 💥💥💥💥💥
ELVIS < what can i say , that i haven't said before. Elvis IS & ALWAYS Will be the BEST .... Elvis sang this song 2 out of the 3 times I saw him in Concert , Everyone was in Tears .... His Heart & Soul is in this song . AS in many , many others . I LOVE & MISS My Elvis . 😇😩😭 that's the way it is . Hang loose everyone 😎❤🤙 Diane from chicago, may 2 2023.
The one and only Elvis! He was and always will be the Greatest Entertainer of all time! He had everything, His looks, His Voice, His movements, etc. There may be other singers but in my heart there is only Elvis!❤
I have loved Elvis for 67 years Ray. Over the years I bought all his albums, watched all his movies, and documentaries over and over Seen millions of pictures, read many books ,watched drama docus about him Seen all I thoght there was to see about him. I live in the UK I'm not rich so never got to see him perform live sadly ( partly Cos of the 'douche bag manager') But my son told me about your youtube site only a few days ago 27th October 2023 to be exact.Watching your reaction to some of the best loved Elvis songs, andvtherecare hubdreds more still, has brought fresh insights to me. I love how you love him and See him for who he was,how great he was. What acdiamobdcwe had in our midst Thank you Ray I also hope you are recovering well after your surgery. Bless you for loving Elvis ❤
I'm so happy to see you did American Trilogy! It is so beautiful, jist magical a real show stopper. Elvis should ha e gone to Broadway with his voice. Thank you
Towards the end of this concert he takes off his belt and hands it to someone in the audience. On the last song he puts on his cape and at the end flings it out into the audience and someone hands him a crown and the King walks around the stage holding his crown, EPIC!!!
That part where he goes into with that part on his face you can feel it you can feel it don't forget he loved everybody no matter your nationality or the color skin Elvis was a true American he loved everybody and by the way I felt it all the❤❤
There will never be any one like Elvis Presley, ever again! The man is absolutely incredible. I’d agree, he took off for a minute.. The explanation at the end was so good btw. I love that. ❤️❤️ I thought I was the only one that caught the hair blow. 😂❤️
I’m not gonna lie, when I first heard him sing this I thought, “UGG was he glorifying the Civil War“ but then when I did my research I found out that it is this song that covers three sides to the Civil War. The first first being “Dixie,” (The national anthem of the confederacy), then the second verse is the battle hymn of the republic which glorifies Americans fight for freedom and justice, and then the third verse is a beautiful old Negro lullaby. I love that all three sides are represented here in this song. I should’ve never doubted Elvis 😊
Awesome reaction Ray, i love this song my nick name for him was Sexy Jello the 1st time i called him that he just looked at me with that curled up lip and said where did you come up with that i laughed and said because when you dance the way you shake your legs they look like sexy Jello. He just looked at me and said okay but only you can call me that if it was anyone but you i wouldn't allow that. goes to show what a special friendship we had for 10 years. I will love and miss my friend forever. God bless you Ray. btw that part was my favorite part of the song scrunched up face love it.
I love you and your reactions, it's like watching Elvis with my brothers when we were young all over again. Thank you Ray. You really understand the power of Elvis and how he takes us to another place.
oh my God, the power of this man and his voice unleash very strong emotions in me, with this song goosebumps are guaranteed and tears too. How is it possible to so suffer the absence of someone you've never met. I will love Elvis forever 💖💗 Thanks Ray happy day to you.
Elvis was proud to be an American and you could feel every ounce of emotion as he sang! I have always loved the powerfulness of this one. This performance is always guaranteed to give chills. I’m not an American but OMG, if this was being played anywhere, I would stand and cheer the USA on …. No hesitation! ❤️💙🇺🇸🇮🇪💚🧡 God bless you Ray, another masterpiece… you are m, hands down, the best on You Tube ☘️
I read that through this song specifically ( and generally he did it with his music all his life) - he wanted to unify old divisions of north- south, black-white, secular- faith. I am not even an american, but that open inclusivity in his music is what kills me as i discover him because in India our best music always transcended religion, region, language etc.. He cant be defined or limited. His voice encompasses entire humanity and as if it wasnt enough goes straight to divinity. Just magical.
I 100% know what you're going through. I was so overwhelmed (still am) when I heard this for the first time. That last chorus was freaking supernatural. Elvis pumped his fist to the sky and harnessed power that is beyond this world.
He is absolutely amazing I love him just as much now as I did over 50 years ago I love the fact that you Love him as much as I do. In my eyes he will never die. I have been to Graceland 4 times and it is amazing you will love it!
… Elvis was the first and the best! ... A millennium singer for eternity ... I've never heard a better male voice than Elvis's...amazingly good !! … His performance in Hawaii in 1973 via satellite was the biggest event in music history of the last century! ✨💎✨🕺🏻🕯 Thank you
I get goose bumps with this song and teary 😢❤ Amazing Elvis. Lol your reaction ! 😂 Im crying laughing watching.. omg! ❤😅ill vibe with that from Australia 🦘.
This song is the perfect representation of what Elvis was able to accomplish through his music. It begins with the Confederate anthem, then the Northern anthem and finishes with the black spiritual. Three stands from three historic parts of our country braided together. In an interview, he was asked about the meaning or significance of this song. He said it was an anthem from all walks of life that make up The United States of America. He truly saw the inner part of people . Not race or creed or wealth or poverty. Only humans created by God.
I was blessed to see him perform this song twice... this same year (just a few months later) & again the very next year. It nearly brought the roof down both times. He & every person on that stage with him gave it their all. And the power they generated flowed over you, around you & through you. I guarantee you that every one of us in that packed arena in Nashville & the second time in Louisville, had goosebumps & tears...many thousands of us. It felt communal. All of us united in our love of country (& love of Elvis too!). Of course the whole show, each time, was terrific. But this song was obviously very special to Elvis, his backup singers & his orchestra. And it was a highlight of each show. I can't emphasize enough how moving & powerful (& loud!) it was. Truly unforgettable. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙
This is exactly what it looks like watching his performance video clips so, and as a musician I absolutely love his band and backing vocalists, but anyway it just makes me love this and it's great to hear somebody that was actually there confirm that everybody on that stage gave it their all. What great experiences those must have been.
This trilogy is the greatest! Yes, Elvis loved his country. Lets also not forget that he had served in the army! Ray, yes this song does give a lot of emotions! I put this song on autoplay! Ray, thats exactly what happens to with me when i hear this song! The ending of the song is my FAVORITE PART!❤

Hes the best that ever was if he was still alive. Today he still will be on top.
One true heartfelt song, thank you for keeping Elvis alive
God has a plan and Elvis is a big part of it through his singing . Every time Elvis opens his mouth to sing, the "gospel " comes out. ❤ Amen
The way he barks at the band in approval, spins around and carries them home by emptying his soul on the stage, is a master class in performing live.
FACTS!!
AMEN!
Truly his land. He was part Indigenous.
Elvis … a gift from God.❤️
THE WORLD WAS A MUCH BETTER PLACE,WHEN THIS MAN WAS IN IT! CASE CLOSED... KEEP UM COMING BIG DADDY

A mi me pasa lo mismo.- Además en ese especial ´él todavía estaba espléndido de belleza y energía.-
Elvis is "otherworldly".❤
In the last ‘30s Presley is conducting the whole orquestra, saying when to enter, keeping the pace and ending with a bang. UNIQUE. OUTSTANDING.
He is the greatest and always will be
And right after that last note, he threw that $8000 belt into the audience!!! No lie.
And in the acual performance he threw the Cape into the audience . It was given back to graceland only when the guy who caught it died . He made sure that was in his will
