I think on the last one the creator said the lap system works based on timers. It locks the lap till the creators best time has elapsed, then the next person to go over increments the lap count.

I don’t know for sure, but my hypothesis for how the lap system works is that a sensor detects the first car crossing the line and it starts a timer set to the minimum time it takes to run a lap. Once the timer goes off, it reactivates the sensor.

My guess of how it works is that there's a different color under each car and there are two sets of sensors per lap. Only if the car's switch was flipped does it count laps. So taking a different car part way through starts a new lap count for that car.
I couldn’t help but laugh at that Lion King moment, those lasers were awesome though!
day 31 of asking scrapman to do a multiplayer monday in survival mode where everyone starts at the crashed ship and has 30 minutes to build a vehicle, no glitches, thrusters allowed

The Lap counter I think works by counting the activated cars at every lap and counts them as they pass.
This was a great Ep. ! So funny!
@Scrap;an, the creator explained it at the other race. it is time controlled. He took his best time and used that as a base how long you would need to drive a round. So you could theoretically stay there and don't drive at all and you could finish. 😉

Ya got me as soon as I saw a freaking train. XD
I think the lap system work by timing. When a car go past the checkpoint, the timer is on for some time to deactivate the sensor so another car that past the checkpoint does not count another lap. When the timer goes off to let the sensor detect that car to add another lap, that same car is should be near the checkpoint. So, that car can add another lap.

Scrap can you please increase the volume of kAN and Moonbo's microphones. On every mulitplayer monday for these past few months their volume have always been super low and I've made multiple comments pointing this out but you haven't seen them
Did you know that people in real life drift right by turning left and turn left by turning right? You can see it happen at about 4:18
Edit: here’s a tip, use the car you used for 4:18 and turn left to turn right and stuff, it will help more then hurt you due to the back side having less grip

Maybe the way the checkpoints/multiple ,laps work is that there are sensors that pick up the colors of each of the cars and, whenever just one of them passes it enough times, it triggers the end. of course, still having the idea from last video of a timer to make sure you can't cheese it (or, like in mario kart, invisible "checkpoints" across the track)

The "wedge car" is supposed to be a Cybertruck, I think. So it's a perfect simulation.

I think the laps work by counting a car's amount of laps and if one car has more than the rest it will copy that cars laps. (There is also probably sensors making sure you cant cheat.)
At 29:17 he probably could have turned to the right and off the track and took a shortcut!

These tracks were obviously built algorithmically
I beleive the counter worked by detecting the color of the cars as they pass running that through a ton of logic that detects which vehicle it is and increments it onto a personal counter each vehicle has which the highest one is displayed though there is a cooldown on making a lap so it cant be cheeses as Kan attempted

I wonder if the lap system has color sensors that detect the colors of the wheels of the different cars? Similar to the robot challenges scrapman did a little bit ago. Each car is a different color and it looks like the wheels are different colors as well. There must be some logic or something that is able to count how many times a certain color has been triggered

It counts the amount of cars you select and so when you cross the starting line it counts the amount of cars passes so it's doesn't over counts the laps when more than one car passes
