Former Mars/Wrigley employee here. The lime flavor was changed to green apple due to the popularity of green apple flavored candies in the category, not because it tasted too close to lemon as some say. The lime flavor was ultimately brought back, not because it wasn't a great flavor, but because it was discovered that the overwhelming majority of Skittles consumers ate small handfuls at a time, and the green apple was a bit overpowering and didn't have as pleasant of a taste as the lime when mixed with the other flavors.

No matter what candy I eat I always end up with the green ones in the bag. All fruit is healthy I know that but to me apple=healthy and why would you flavor candy with something healthy tasting?

Lime was the original. They briefly changed it to green apple then brought it back to lime. Strawberry and grape are my favorite flavors!

Strawberry is hands down one of the best candy flavors. I don't understand their opinions about sweet things-
The Green Skittle originally was Lime, but they thought it was too close to lemon. That's when it became Green Apple. They only recently changed it back the last couple of years.

there was a limited edition pack that was orchard themed i think. had red apple, green apple, peach, and tangerine and it was the best mix of skittles i've ever had

Anyone else miss the Skittles Bubble Gum? Definitely a go-to of mine as a kid
They forgot to include Skittles Brightside in their Gut Check. The flavours are Kiwi Banana, Watermelon, Paradise Punch, Pink Lemonade, and Tangerine. I know this because I wanted to check something on Google and ended up on Skittles website. Given how much they like grape, it probably would not have affected the final results though. Still a great video.

The green skittle was originally lime, and in 2013, they changed it to green apple, to which they did not receive the reaction they were hoping for 😂 I'm definitely team lime!

Pretty much everyone I know has alwasy thought the strawberry skittle was the best one. Just like the pink Starburst, it isn't even close. By far the best one on the original pack of flavors.

The green skittle is a bone of contention with me and my best friend. She hated the green apple so I always got those, as they were the only ones I really like, and she was a huge fan of the original lime flavour. So when they brought it back that was the end of our skittles sharing 😅

I'm 25 and I remember the green skittle being lime then changing to green apple for years and years and just recently changing back to lime. I personally prefer the lime because I feel like it balances the sour/sweet of the pack more and also I'm just a lime flavor fan lol
