I loved Dragonspine when it was fresh. I rarely found Sheer Cold to be an obstacle, I think in a few places it was annoying and sure enough I did die to it a few times but most of the time just having a pyro character in the party and looking out for torches and warming pillars was plenty sufficient. And the atmosphere was so different from all the rest of the world back in version 1, it was feeling like a completely new game.
Most of us played dragon spine as soon as it came out, so for example, I had level 40 characters with my only pyro being amber (lvl 20) and me not having xiangling yet
I had to explore much of Dragonspine while having a Pyro character to mitigate the Sheer Cold, giving me time to survive. I also had to clear hard challenges despite being below AR 20. It was a beautiful memory of exploring Dragonspine before completing the final Archon Quest of Mondstadt.
See I thought having Childe, who is from Snezhnaya, would have me be able to be immune to the sheer cold. Unfortunately I found out quickly this was not the case, for whatever reason.

It's the region I enjoyed the most when I started playing because it was super fun to explore a mysterious and hostile snow mountain where I had to rely on Barbara to survive in and out of combat, and the fights were super interesting since my characters were lvl 7 when I got there and the enemies lvl 30 and so fights were long so I had to tank the sheer cold + the enemy attacks (that I wasn't good at dodging yet) so I had to on-field Barbara which dragged the fight even longer which let the music play and was very fitting because it gets more and more intense and it's just a amazing song overall
cuz 100% doesnt mean you emptied out the map. its just that u done with the ceiling hoyo put in the game to 100% a map. every region still has few more chests and puzzles after 100% a map.... last week i found 10 chests in stormterror lair map even though i 100% all of mond 2 years ago XD
check the max chests in each region and then compare it to the chest count in your acheivements: if u have less in the achievements it means there still bunch of chests XD i found out im missing about 50 chests from sumeru even though all of sumeru and desert is 100%

Dragonspine is one of the best places I explored, I live in a tropical country and snow fascinates me. The sheer cold didn't give me any problems while exploring. One of my funny moments is exploring dragonspine at AR 13 and very underleveled, took Kaeya thinking that he would be immune to the cold since he's a cryo holder.
@@squee-g1658 Barbara is the best for sheer cold in my experience. No self hp drain, built-in stamina consumption reduction, and a shorter CD than qiqi if you have C2. And she’s free!
It feels really nostalgic because back then my character isn't powerful enough to face the challenges and sheer cold. Now even with new region mechanic,it doesn't feel the same because my characters are fully build and I'm not clueless like i was before. I guess it's one of the advantages of being a new player
I suppose a perk of starting the game pretty late was that I didn't necessarily have to suffer this. I went to light up some of the area around AR 20ish, decided fuck that, played all the way through to Inazuma/Sumeru and came back at AR 45 I think. Maybe that's why I ended up loving it so much, I had other content to do instead. The hardest part was actually exploration 100%, but I finally found the one chest a couple weeks ago. Also just huge shout out to my boy Lyney haha, he was my second 5* and absolutely carried me through Dragonspine
I really love my co-op friends back theree .. they help me reach 77% explore even when I only fckng have traveler and the other free characters (kaeya, amber, and barbara) 😭 what a great memoryy I miss them all

I literally keep watching the old exe videos specially Dragonspine lol This makes me so happy! I really miss the feeling as a newbie with low AR, poorly built, only 4 star characters going to this place. Snow regions in games makes me so excited so when I noticed one in Genshin I went in so happily and ran from there with an unforgettable memory of how that lawachurl near the Frost tree annihilated everyone in my team. That shit gave me ptsd and swore to never go there again alone. In coop I cleared most of the stuffs and revisiting there, knowing the lore from the beginning about happened here, absolute masterpiece of OSTs made me so emotionally attached to it. One of my top areas to keep visiting at times even if there's nothing to do :)
i have a love hate relationship with Dragonspine because i had it at 99% exploration for years and i could not find another chest or something to 100% it ... just recently after 3 years i was able to 100% never again lol and now i have the same problem at Enkanomiya sitting at 90 something % exploration T T
Fun fact: the best character to explore Dragonspine is Dheya lvl 60. Her passive is making her regain ~40% when she's unde 30% I think. On short she is slefhealig. 😂
Also kuki shinobu ( she literally can bypass cold sheer by using 1st ability 24/7 (even though it consumes 33% of hp, but it heals back literally full hp), cold sheer will take percentage of damage, while you will be healed back 6% (per tick))

Fight the sheer cold with one simple trick. Open up your events page. Start a trial character fight. Don't ACTUALLY start the trial. Just wait upon entering the trial room. Sheer cold goes down. Leave trial. Laugh. Rinse and repeat as needed
i was low AR that time, and i didn't totally understood how genshin worked, dragonspine was the map that took me most time (1 month more or less) but was amazing, i miss those times, now i feel genshin is getting easier and easier...
i enjoyed Dragonspine so bad, it was my first 100% and loved the story behind it, the cold(by the pilar), dead dragon, the old kingdom in ruins, the caves inside the mountine, it was a real challenge for me back then
Dragonspine was hell for me early-game; my only Pyro characters were Xiangling and Amber, which meant goofy ahh cooldowns and low damage output, respectively. It took forever and I still haven't come close to 100-percenting it yet, though I should probably go back with my monopyro team now that I have Dehya, Benny and Thoma.
Now that I have dehya I love dragonspine SO much. The area was just so cool. Monstadt was definitely my favourite area and I wish we’d get more quests there other than some daily

Day 1 player, i was ar35 i think when Dragonspine dropped (i didn't want to ascend the ar i guess, i should've been higher). I 100% Dragonspine on the first day. The only region part i ever 100%ed on day 1. Smth cool was about it. And i remember my Boar King bugged for me and was lvl90 or smth, and my lvl70 ass was able to beat it somehow (most of my characters died). What a good days. Later i spent 4 days clearing it on my second account. I still find Dragonspine one of my favorite region parts, really. Despite the sheer cold thing. Dragonspine was chill place, if you get what i mean ;)
Heheh fun times. We had very limited characters back then and I couldn't get Zhongli so let's say it wasn't a pleasant experience. Heck, even Qiqi was a valuable member in my dragonspine exploration team cuz Barbara froze and Bennett buffed the cryo enemies.
I came to Dragonspine at level when Co Op unlocks, because i had going too fast on the Archon quests, so i couldnt achieve an adventure rank requirements to go to Liyue. I didnt know that daily commissions are giving EXP. I thought, the dragonspine was the only choice, because i had no other quests left (didnt know about story keys as well) and i thought this is what genshin really is. AN abandoned by gods world, cruel and hardcore gameplay aka Dark Souls, where to beat a hilichurl with totem you need good artifacts, good characters, good weapon and good luck as well. Most of the enemies i just ignored like I would go out to farm local specialties nowadays, but back then, a 3 hilichurls where for me a serious trouble. I didnt even think about fight Fatui's, i just run away every time they got triggered to battle action. I didnt even know how to heal as long i came to Dragonspine and found out that statue is healing and warms your characters. Barbara was my healer in Dragonspine btw, which is pain. I got excited by level of the difficulty and all that ended when I got Kazuha and Hu Tao. The more i learnt the less game is started to exciting me. Honestly, i would like to see game more harsh, and not just combination of E Q 1234 to win the battle, which now is literally my pattern way to deal with enemies. Not long ago, i got Kirara and game just started being boring because of no trouble i could be with. I can even clean Whale boss (dark voids drops) without using traveler, and Kirara's shields are debatable strong and very close to Zhongli's. Game just started look like afk farms of artifacts, bosses and etc. Is it really what is Genshin Impact?
I was lucky to play Dragonspine where I got Kuki very early. I had her on my team instead of Barbara. Proud of myself for maxing out my characters/weapons/trash artifacts before doing the next ascension quest. Fighting enemies would've been a tough time.
When I first scaled dragonspine I somehow missed the path up to the statue of the seven and climbed up the opposite side 😂 I was peeved when I got all the way up and saw a path

AN abandoned by gods world, cruel and hardcore gameplay aka Dark Souls, where to beat a hilichurl with totem you need good artifacts, good characters, good weapon and good luck as well. Most of the enemies i just ignored like I would go out to farm local specialties nowadays, but back then, a 3 hilichurls where for me a serious trouble. I didnt even think about fight Fatui's, i just run away every time they got triggered to battle action. I didnt even know how to heal as long i came to Dragonspine and found out that statue is healing and warms your characters. Barbara was my healer in Dragonspine btw, which is pain. I got excited by level of the difficulty and all that ended when I got Kazuha and Hu Tao. The more i learnt the less game is started to exciting me. Honestly, i would like to see game more harsh, and not just combination of E Q 1234 to win the battle, which now is literally my pattern way to deal with enemies. Not long ago, i got Kirara and game just started being boring because of no trouble i could be with. I can even clean Whale boss (dark voids drops) without using traveler, and Kirara's shields are debatable strong and very close to Zhongli's. Game just started look like afk farms of artifacts, bosses and etc.

I was lucky to play Dragonspine where I got Kuki very early. I had her on my team instead of Barbara. Proud of myself for maxing out my characters/weapons/trash artifacts before doing the next ascension quest. Fighting enemies would've been a tough time.

When I first scaled dragonspine I somehow missed the path up to the statue of the seven and climbed up the opposite side 😂 I was peeved when I got all the way up and saw a path
