We just completed 2 months of RV life in St. Augustine Beach FL. We still had a full workload, but it was great to be 5 minutes from the beach for our days off. The weather for May and June has been great and the stay at Oceans Grove RV resort has been super. Great camping, wonderful pool, well maintained spaces and over all campground along with a very friendly staff has made a perfect beach trip. The RV resort is big rig friendly and every space supports water, sewer, 30 & 50 amp and cable. Most of the sites are have a good view for satellite, ours included. We took advantage of the on site laundry and there is a very nice bath house and fitness center.
The Resort is broken into two areas. The front is the lower cost area with grass parking but all are equipped with a picnic table and concrete pad. The back of the resort is higher priced, but all spaces are paved and some border the beautiful marsh. This is one of our favorite Florida campgrounds and our go to location when we consider the beach.
Dining options have been great. Hurricane Grill, Romano's for pizza, Seafood kitchen and the Oasis Grill are all within a couple of minutes walk. We had a great meal at A1A Ale House and at Prohibition Kitchen in in the historic downtown district and delicious Mexican street food at Cantina Louie at US 1.
We love St. Augustine Beach and Ocean Grove RV Resorts is one of our favorite Florida campgrounds and our go to location when we consider the beach.

I just made our reservation for the end of July. I appreciate the video. Did you see any Golf carts across the road at the beach?
St. John County had some strict regulations for use of golf carts on public streets. Can’t drive on sidewalks. Most of the beach is 4X4 with a middle section ok for 2 wheel if there’s been enough rain to firm up the sand.

Hi Randy. We always make reservations. Just the comfort in knowing we’ll have a place to park. Plus for the more popular areas, the may book up certain times of the year.
This was wonderful! Awwwww ! The memories we haven’t been there in twenty years we used to go there every year in March when our boys were young! How things have changed! Thinking about visiting again ! Thank you for this !
Thanks Donna for the kind comments and so happy we could share. Much has changed around St. Augustine over time. But we still love the charm of the area and the family atmosphere. Joan and I too have been coming to St. Augustine for a long time, but just joined the RV ranks a few years ago. Ocean Grove is one of our favorites.

That's about what my mortgage payment, tax and insurance, was on my 4 bedroom 5ac house in wi...., don't understand why so much to park a camper on a tiny lot.

Things changed since the video. Rates when we were there for 2 months were substantially less.

Joe, apologies for the camera shutter. I had two options, my baby camera or the big pro. I did not have my usual and the baby camera movement a little blurry. I'll fix in later updates. Appreciate to comments.
you really do a wonderful job with campground reviews, and that is exactly what I am looking for, having never done this before. Now retired, I am considering a Class C 24' motor home and NOT have a tow vehicle. What do you think of this concept? I have watched many of your videos (Especially loved the kitchen remodel - great idea!) Bless you both and thank you for sharing your time and expertise !!!
Thanks so much Bruce. The smaller Class Cs are a nice options. Depends on the type of travel you're planning. Moving often? Small motorized RVs are a good solutions. If you plan to stay in a spot a while, you need to think about transportation while you are stationary. How will you tour the area, go to the grocery store, etc.? You may not want to unhook and leave the campground for basic needs. A bike is an option if you're at the beach. Everything is near, flat, easy access, but not as handy in more rural surroundings.

Thanks much. There's been a number of improvements at Ocean Grove since last year. So many, I'm planning a video update of the campground. It's a great location and our favorite beach town For me, I'm still working. Just fortunate that my work is portable. Don't wait long. Life gets in the way. Jump in. The water's great!!! Jerry....

We're travelling here and there now but not RVing just yet.
Our last big trip was in 2017. We drove our 2004 Honda Odyssey from IL to San Diego, CA and back. With our kids. We've 2.
We took a couple of weeks vacation and loved it.
We made many stops along the way and back.
Of course, 1 more week would've been great.

Not at all. It's brackish water plus there's a nice ocean breeze. We were there in May and June and had no problems.

St, Augustine is very nice, including this RV resort, but I can't help notice the heavily chemtrailed sky above. With that said, I wonder if St. Augustine has any permanent RV parks like we have here in Ga.
By permanent meaning long term parking? There are a number from the mountains to the coast offering extended rates.
$75 a night
Camping is not cheap anymore. In 1950, NYS, it was $2 /night or $10/wk. In Ohio ,it was $15/night, and half that for Ohio Seniors,just 30 years ago.There are a lot of free rustic camp sights at dams in Kentucky. In FL, each campground has to be self-supporting, so the small ones are pricier. Sebastian Inlet has great fishing.

Hi Carrie. Glad you found our videos. I usually don't quote prices since videos age and prices change. It's the beach, so prices are higher than what we normally pay, but this is our "treat" location for the year. We're going back late spring of this year and it's $825 for the month plus electric. Daily and weekly rates are a good bit higher, but electricity is included.

My sister moved to St. Augustine last year and Loves it! Although she lives 5 miles from the beach, she is close
St. Augustine is one of our favor places to escape.
When you stay at a state campsite or fort Wilderness, these sites just aren't that appealing. But great video nonetheless.
Thanks so much. Understand Jaz. Sometimes in the more populated areas, we aren't able to find the spacious wooded sites. But on the positive side, there's other amenities and the surrounding sites to see that makes the difference. We find there's always a little give and take no matter where we go.

Hi Emery. If you mean are their folks from all walks of life who visit? Yes.
Too close to each other like many parks.
They are a bit close, but there’s plenty of room between RVs. This is for convenience to the Opry, Gaylord and downtown. Plenty of other campgrounds further out with the outdoor feel.

Most places in az mn, tx wi, are about 200 month... fla seems to be 300-400 mo...
This is across the street from the beach. One of the better values. There are others in the area that are a bit higher. Those closer to the interstate and some of the national parks are less, but again, beach is the big draw.
I live near the Space Center, a huge RV Resort here is $1400 per month.
