Lighter, thinner, and shorter.
Yes, specifically hook gripping the snatch and overly gripping it is key to proper technique. Hand size, especially the lighter weight classes, is often a limiting factor using the thicker men's bars.
Additionally they tend to be more whippy and similar to mens bars at the weights they jerk with.
It's thinner to make it similar showcase of strength. It being lighter is just a by product.
You can tell just by looking which competitors come from countries where they can't actually achieve random drug testing
